  1. For those who want a hard-printed copy, the exact same book can be found in the stores, near the entrance. Be advised that not all of the toys will be in the catalog.
  2. If you spend $100 dollars on toys, you get 10 percent off! Note that the Monster high dolls are in select stores only. I liked the choices on the Barbie dolls and the knock-offs which were really nice for the money for $1.50 Ea. They even had African American versions. All were to scale and very nice. they passed the press test. Usually, a $1 doll is made of hollow, flimsy plastic.
  3. I had the chance to do some recon for the show on Saturday. There are some really nice deals and not all of the stock is in yet! I went in at 4PM and they were getting absolutely slammed! I remember a time when foot traffic in these stores was a joke. Now, the crowd includes upper middle class moms with value in mind. Boy how the times have changed the futures of these stores!
  4. I am going to go out on a limb and predict that Best Buy will decide between Thursday and Friday to announce this. My only concern is the ads that are already in print with opening times.
  5. I am with you on this one. They ware usually $50 off of the mark on these early items.
  6. I fell asleep at the computer waiting for this! I awoke to find it still going on and was happy that I didn't miss out on my nap time! All is good!
  7. My experience with Best Buy works like this: 1. Complain in the store first(constructively, and with tact). Most problems are settled in this manner. 2. Complain to Best Buy corporate and to community reps (on forums using private PMs)personally. Do not get involved with forum hacks who are there to confound and demoralize you. 3. Network with others who have similar complaints. Use your strength in numbers to show them that this is not an isolated incident. 4. Follow up at least monthly with your complaint. 5. File a complaint with the BBB in cases where no resolution is expected. Use networked friends to file complaints as well(where warranted, not frivolous causes). Not for line issues, but actions of employees. 6. Deal with new Manager, as Best Buy can and will fire bad Managers who are caught in unethical situations. Check every 6 months for personnel changes. 7. Praise stores who perform well and uphold store policies. Report the good to corporate, as they need to hear this often neglected side of the consumers voice.
  8. He is referring to Best Buy only. For those of us who are exclusive to Best Buy, it can either hurt or help, depending upon the local property ownership's policies.
  9. Sounds like you may be setting yourself up for a big letdown. People that are generally upset over store policy do not generally reward that same store with business.
  10. The midnight openings are better for those who shop the big box stores. Sleep deprivation is nothing to mess with, and many times I have had to put off sleep when Best Buy was my first choice.
  11. You need to come home to shop!
  12. Not suitable for Black Friday concrete, hehehe:razz:
  13. You could always pick up the 4 person tent with two chair deal, then pick up two of the $15 air beds. The large family tent is rather bulky, and keeping things simple is best. get an air pump also. You can always get good sleeping bags on sale, or at yard sales.
  14. I remember an equal number of folks who were upset because some people seemed to score multiple deals and others came up empty. It might be wise for them to put participation limits to encourage fairness this year.
  15. The Marine Corps Exchange has the same TV for $1999.99. We are hopeful that we could see these prices beaten by the big boys.
  16. Definitely a good move, but we are starting to see this from the smaller companies as well. They are now compelled to follow suit in a cash-strapped economy.
  17. This has absolutely nothing to do with the regular price-match of identical items. The difference of the exclusion is that you do not get the gift card difference on Black Friday. Here is their current policy:http://walmartstores.com/Search/?q=price+matching&t=a&p=1&s=r&fd=a&fa=p " Our Ad Match Guarantee".
  18. Here is another merchandiser with a deal on $5 and $10 Toys. http://www.familydollar.com/pages/hotitems.aspx
  19. Here is the press release for Dollar General: http://newscenter.dollargeneral.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=1769
  20. I believe Dollar general will do some brisk business this Black Friday! Times are tough, and these Dollar stores are hitting the mark in a cash strapped economy.
  21. The deal is like a rug being pulled out from under you.
  22. For those who have ever seen the new sharp Aquos 70 inch TV, I can tell you that it is definitely a stunner. The Retail on this unit is $2,500.00 and a friend of mine just bought it at Best Buy for $2,399.00 and he thought that was a deal. HHGregg also has it at $2,500.00. When we saw this TV listed in the Black Friday scan at $1,949, we about fell out! And this is not even remotely considered a major ad! I am confident that he will be able to deal down the price of his TV or take it back. It now looks like the best is yet to come, as the TV prices in this ad are really, really good.
  23. I will tell you that BJs is getting aggressive in their mail outs this year. I just received their household incidentals coupon booklet with a free 60 day membership. This will get you through Black Friday.
  24. You may have to split up your purchases and see if anyone can get some of these for you. You may even have to enlist the help of the older kids themselves, as they can serve as a place holder for one of the netbooks. Perhaps some friends on gottadeal might want to help. We have had netbooks at Best Buy for the last two years, but they may not even offer them this year. Many high schools are going to allow the use of tablets for school work. Perhaps a kindle Fire or similar device would be in order, especially for the younger ones. They can save work in the cloud.
