  1. party rental places usually have them. The squarish ones. They are called Cambros usually. I used to work in catering (back in my college days). They usually are only $5-7 to rent.
  2. Our best guess is that they are intended for Food Avenue to be sold singly, but they make it to the sales floor instead. However, I saw a child purchasing a single juice box the other day in Food Ave. and it was less than $.69, so I am not sure we were correct about that. It has been like this for a long time, though! When I don't need them myself, I usually take them up to a couple of cashiers who work mornings who really appreciate it. I just "change my mind" so the management doesn't check out what is going on. When I am in a store I don't go to regularly and find them, I will often find a young mom and tell her about the deal. That almost always makes them happy.
  3. Thanks to everyone who has added their locations to their profiles! I just noticed that quite a few of you have done it! That makes it SO much easier to figure out what is on sale where!
  4. Were they Orange Juice? The OJ isn't the low price. They always ring up for that price. Only Apple, Grape & Fruit Punch.
  5. No. Still doing wedding plans? You can always rent them...
  6. Yeah. Our stores had it full price. I was bummed. But then I found a whole family of the ducks 90% off so my kids & I were happy.
  7. Yep. Otherwise they look exactly like the 15 packs. They are often behind the 15s. But some people go months without finding them. You just have to keep looking.
  8. I double checked, and Global Bazaar did not go 90% last year.
  9. Absolutely! I had a couple of those sets, and I asked at one store, and they lady said no and explained why. She's sweet and knows I shop there a lot. I asked because an older gentleman that works CS at that store has done it for me before. No dice. So, I took them (and a few other marked down toys) back to my other most regular store and simply waited. I went in the evening and sat with a coffee in Food Avenue to watch for them to come get the go backs. I knew they would. That store never lets stuff sit for more than an hour in CS. Sure enough, after about 30 minutes a girl came to get them. I headed her off at the pass and she was more than happy to allow me to unload the cart she was going to have to take to the sales floor!
  10. I have NEVER seen them drop toys below 75%. The only merchandise that goes to 90% is holiday stuff. There are a handful of stores across the country where we have heard reports of them taking merchandise below 75%, but it is not standard practice. And once it goes salvage, a lot of stores won't sell it to you at all. That happens all the time. I'd buy it before that happens.
  11. too bad they do all their stuff locally, not nationally. our stores NEVER seem to mark their stuff down! I almost never go anymore.
  12. I used this coupon (came in the paper) at Ralphs (Kroger) to transfer from Vons (Safeway) to them. They price match. I DESPISE Rite Aid, so this is better. They won't match the additional 2 $5 deals, but who cares!? I'll use the second coupon I got to transfer it from Ralphs to Vons again next month.
  13. oh it CAN work, but you can also lose out that way. that's all I meant.
  14. it is a fussy system for sure. but better than nothing. I often put in other nearby zip codes if there are other stores in my area. don't know if this is an option, but sometimes works. also, sometimes trying with or without dashes.
  15. that is a good way to have an employee end up buying the item instead of yourself once they see the deal.
  16. It ONLY works for items that they sell online also. And, it is most reliable when it says that they have them, but not limited stock.
  17. that just means they don't sell it online. the DPCI should still be valid.
  18. No, I was looking too. I have a friend who wanted them. I checked the 2 Pasadena stores. And when I was in Alhambra & Duarte last week, they were already sold out too.
  19. Yeah, I had to restrain myself as well. They are asking me to buy them regular sheets at this point (they don't like the scratchy quality of the character sheets anymore), so I didn't get anything. They had a lot, too!
  20. Sometimes they ship it to another store that has more success selling their clearance stuff at higher prices.
  21. I found the flannel Cars & Spiderman sheets marked 75% off today - $4.98
  22. I go every morning, so they know me well. When I go at other times of day they all tease me about being back. I say hi to most of them by name and my DS is always asking me how I know all their names!
  23. I generally find Apple, but from time to time find Grape & Fruit Punch. As to the second question, they look like the 15 packs, but without the big "15" on it, and there are only 10 in the pack. Any flavor but Orange. And yes, it has been like this for a couple of years I think. Last year I was able to get about 20 packs to use for our Preschool fundraiser dinner (for the kids meals).
  24. did they have a red sticker? I think that is just a sale price. ours had a big sale sign in front of them with a price of $8.xx
