the one only sells furniture & clearance merchandise, and the other is a hotel gift shop, so quite possible.

Next week, Wednesday or Thursday depending on what day your store usually marks down. But I'm wrong as often as I am right... -

They were working pretty frantically in ours yesterday too. I think there is always a lot of pressure to re-set the department, more than most other departments that I see. -
Just ask them. It is free, like a grocery or drug store rewards card.

Hey, another Hoosier! I grew up just south of there (between Romney & Clarks Hill) back when the Target was over by Pier One. That store you have now is so nice! Not going to get to go out today. DS has been vomiting since 3am. Ugh! :yuck: -

Depends if they have to have it completely reset by then or not. They usually end up with 1-2 aisle of toy clearance, and they sometimes use endcaps. The aisles they push it toward tend to be the ones in sporting goods (in most stores) where they will be putting seasonal or transition stuff, so they have a bit of leeway on the timing. -

That just means that they are going to be putting out the new merchandise. After clearance, they "re-set" the department with a new planogram and new merchandise. LMAO, though, because 2 years ago I ran across a site called targetunion.org, which was a site like the one you found. I mentioned it on here because they were complaining about customers using a lot of coupons. This was around the time of the great Choxie coupon for those who recall. Anyway, several other people checked it out, joined, made comments, and a flame war developed. Their site ended up closing down as a result of the heavy traffic from the customers flaming them, and a few of them started the site you found. I hadn't thought about it for some time, but when I looked back to see what the timeframe was, I also remembered that Brad trashed most of the stuff off our site. So, let's not go there, again, but it sure was an amusing site to see us from their perspective. Most of the employees who were on that site seemed to be the 16-25 year old male employees. They had a lot of attitudes about women customers.... -

No, the mark down team leaves by about 3pm everyday. They start at like 5 or 6am. The ones you saw were re-setting the department - putting everything in its new location. -

Yeah, we haven't had nearly enough time for carping and complaining that it hasn't gone down yet. ;) We always seem to spend several days biting our nails waiting. This year, though, I am really pretty disappointed in what is leftover. However, I have seen a few items marked at some stores that have been reset at others. Usually I see that with small stores, but these have been larger ones. Weird. I don't know that I'll bother driving from store to store so much this year. Just not enough that I want. -

No. I'd be shocked if much went down tomorrow. By the way, you can use the old threads on here to look for the dates as well. Just use the search feature. -

Ooohh...Yuck!..that is the kind of thing I call the 800 number about too. Upper levels need to know about stuff like that. -

Call the 800 number. They'll send you coupons. I tried the AF Poppy Seed dressing, and it just wasn't that good. Maybe we are spoiled with the brand we usually buy, but we didn't like it. Target sent me coupons to buy something else. I did that one other time with one of their food products that I hated, and they did it then too. -

Not sure what you mean about adding the 15%, but I don't think anyone is trying to convince you to hide things. Just explaining that it isn't simply a matter of another 15% off the sale price that you lose by taking it at 75% instead of 90%. I might not want to take something at $1.74 (75% off $6.99), but drop it to $.69 (90% off $6.99) and I might take 2 or 3. Basically, the point being that the drop is an additional 60% off the 75% off price (kind of like shopping at Macy's with their clearance!). -

Yeah, one of those plastic boxes that snaps shut. It was a red box, about 14 x 18" in size. I saw 2 sets hidden in tools behind the larger bottom shelf boxes at a store today. I unhid them. -

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, mommy2justin. I didn't count days, but the timeframe was just too soon. I also agree with supershopper1 that it doesn't look terribly promising. Not that much overstock, so it isn't terribly exciting. I usually stock up on stuff like Legos, but they only have a few Bionicle sets (which I always skip) at our stores. -

No, they just put it in back!! Did I mention that the employees, including managers, were fighting over the $3 car emergency kits at one store yesterday? They had stocked about 20 of them that morning as they opened. -

Of course, that is simply a matter of opinion...some things I really do want at 90% off, but am simply not willing to spend more than that on. Particularly something I am simply not sure about. So, while you may not want to stash, and may not even approve of it, many of us do. Anyone seeing much movement on toys? I am seriously thinking that it won't be till next week. -

Definitely true. The times I got caught they pulled the stuff out. -

Forgot to mention that I have been finding a TON of those little handheld electronic games that were in the stocking stuffer toys for Christmas (pinball, space invaders, all kinds) in the regular toy section with the electronic toys. They were originally $2.99, so they are $.29. Also those pop itz things. I've ignored them, but they are out there. -

Yeah, I don't blame you. It is pretty outrageous. I have gotten caught a couple of times at different stores, and they just gave me a stern warning. Yesterday, I was doing what you were doing, and I even told a manager flat out that I was cruising the store and looking to see if I could find people's stashes (which was actually true) and stuff just on the shelves. She laughed and said I should work there! Sorry they were so nasty. -

They can. They have picture books at the front end for the guards to watch for people. -

All you can do is ask. It only works sometimes, and only at certain stores. Some stores will NEVER adjust a price. Others will do it without a problem. Your best bet is always with the youngest, and more often male, cashiers. The less jaded they are the better. Some of us have had experiences where the cashier looks at you like you are trying to shoplift, so you just have to always be prepared to say Okay, no thank you.
