  1. They are using the computer, which is simply not always accurate. Any number of reasons, including theft, though that seems unlikely in this case. One big one is the whole Not of File thing. If something is ringing up that way at any time during the period it is supposed to be there, and it gets sold as a 999999999 DPCI, it won't update the inventory. And, sometimes, they just get lost in the back, pushed behind something else that is big, etc. If it is a small item that someone has "misplaced," "laid away," or simply moved out of the department, it could also happen. It could be in a go-backs cart, in guest services or about anything else. If they say they only have 1-2, the employees tell you that it is often unlikely to be there.
  2. They are re-setting the department. They do it every year, usually twice a year to give the department and merchandise a fresh look. After a few years, you'll start to see the pattern. One store of mine is on a 4 year cycle, and the camping stuff is now back to where it is easier to hide stuff. More off the main path. :cheesy: Yeah, ours was gone too fast also. I missed everything but an instant canopy that I really needed for summer. Got that for $24.98.
  3. For this season....And we all said, Amen.
  4. put it on a shelf where they will be marking tomorrow! they are more likely to hit it that way. Hardware or Automotive clearance. In fact, you might stick it behind something so they find it and it doesn't get put back by overnight.
  5. markdown team does not work weekends except during extremely high volume periods. Oh, and be prepared for the accusing "where did you find this?"
  6. Actually, if you left it hidden, you might well find it marked down tomorrow. They generally activate all the prices at the end of the shift. On the other hand, sometimes they don't. If it still isn't marked down tomorrow, you can always try getting them to do it if you can track them down. Again, sometimes they will, sometimes they won't... Hiding stuff is hit or miss. You always run the risk of this happening, or someone finding it.
  7. It is in the first post with all the info about markdowns.
  8. $6 even, actually, but it is VERY worth it, and, seriously, $10 is cheap compared to the regular price.
  9. found the butterfly things. For those who are vets of the toy section, you will remember that for summer they always add an aisle of outdoor toys like a play tunnel, last year they had the teepee tent, lots of digging toys, that sort of thing. It is also the aisle that gets marked down about a week after the regular toy clearance in the summer. They generally have a lot of store branded toys. Last year, I think it was called Summer Wonder. Anyway, that is the aisle where the butterfly things are. I found them on a bottom shelf. Some stores have not yet set this aisle, but one store had them in the back. These are great birthday gifts, and I think I'll give a few to the school.
  10. well, if you can't get out, seems unlikely others can either, so if it does, hopefully it will still be there for you.
  11. It isn't terribly surprising. Those stores that go on Wednesday will probably go today, and those that go on Thursdays will likely go tomorrow. And, of course, there are those few outliers that are behind all the time, so they'll go on whatever their schedule is...
  12. Maybe she was checking for herself. That's a shame! Hopefully it will get marked soon!
  13. Really? Are you sure it was a markdown person? They must be pretty far ahead to be doing it on a Tuesday, or Target is playing games with the schedule again. They usually shoot outs on Tuesday or Wednesday, for ordering. They were doing that at our store this morning, so lots of grey circle tags.
  14. I wondered if they were doing that. This was a single fold in the middle of the ad and it could easily pull out. I'd keep an eye out for future ads, as I expect we'll be seeing these off and on in different areas at different times.
  15. Ours was for clothing, not a home purchase. Plus, of course, we had the 3 coupons in the Sunday sale ad. Not sure I'll use them, but nice to have available.
  16. be sure to check back in the regular aisles. They did move whatever was left so they could set Valentines. They often have moved it back to the regular aisles. Some stuff they leave at regular price, though, so you may not find great deals.
  17. Are you talking about the Christmas boxed set? The wooden box, Target exclusive special? It never came with any track, so if that is the set you mean, you were lucky they sent it to you. But that said, you are right. I have had similar experiences and regretted when I failed to check them over carefully. Now I try to do it before buying so I don't have a problem. I got home with a Leapster game that had been cut open and the cartridge was stolen before I bought it!
  18. Historically, they have treated global bazaar the same as seasonal clearance, and they have never manually tagged it. Since they took the time to manually mark everything, it would seem to indicate that they won't treat it like seasonal, so it may not go to 90% this year. And, asking employees, even managers, is useless because they don't know either. They can only speculate. They were all shocked when it went 30% so early, so it would not be a stretch to see it stay at 30% longer than 2 weeks, particularly since they went to the trouble to have special signs printed up.
  19. It also has a teeny, tiny screen.
  20. They do the same thing every year. Even if it is clearly a Christmas toy, if it is sold in Toys it goes with the toy markdown, not the Christmas clearance. Same as the Thomas stuff, the Advent Calendars, etc. Some of us got lucky and got and override, and a couple actually had a few their toys marked down with Christmas, but for the most part this is they way it goes. They have about 40 of those Barbies at one of my stores.
  21. I got the sheets and saw the rugs were 75% off last Monday. I posted the DPCI then, so it should be on the 19th. They had not marked everything at that particular store 75%, and all my other stores were sold out. Found it 030021529 for the green sheets.
  22. Yep, we just tell them it is too expensive or something. It isn't like they need everything they want, anyway. I told DS flat out that he wasn't getting the Eyeclops Night Vision Goggles for Christmas because there was no way I was spending that kind of money for them. He was shocked to get them for Christmas, and I made a point of letting him know that it was only because I got them for $15 when Target had them mis-marked.
