  1. Today I bought 5 2-pair packs of gloves for 37 cents (that I'll use to send to the troops when it gets colder), a pair of slippers ($2.48), and a 2-pack of sleepshirts ($4.98). A lot of cute pajama sets on clearance at my store.
  2. A little heads up on the juiceboxes.. I scanned one with my PDA the other day and it shows that they belong in Food Avenue (meaning Food Ave. sells them individually there). This explains why not everyone is finding them at their stores and why people keep seeing more on the shelves everytime they go to the store. Two, in case anyone's interested in TV on DVD movies.. This Sunday's ad contains quite a few on sale for $17.99 (here's a couple.. 24 Season 1, Rescue Me Seasons 1 and 2, Weeds Season 1, Arrested Development Seasons 1, 2, and 3). Maybe now's a good time to buy them so you can get a price adjustment when the sale starts. I guarantee you they'll sell out quickly at that price.
  3. Just a little heads up up a couple of things that will be going on clearance tomorrow (although your store might have a different markdown schedule). IQuest handheld game-$25 (50% off) IQuest cartridges-50% off Some Noxzema facial care (lotions/astringents/etc)-50% off Also, some Pantene shampoo/hair care products are 50% off as well as a select few Suave items.
  4. I know that certain departments get marked down on certain days of the week. For example, I was told a short while ago by a member of the price change team that toys get marked down on Wednesdays. I also saw the price change team marking down items in the housewares and infants department on Friday so I'm assuming that Friday is markdown day for those two departments. Apparently now each store has their own schedule based on how much they sell so your store's markdown schedule may be different.
  5. I've been on two RC cruises and one Carnival cruise. I enjoyed the RC cruises far more than the Carnival one for several reasons. 1. The shows. RC's nightly shows were well planned out whereas Carnival's shows were thrown together (random comedians who weren't even funny). 2. The dining room experience. Both cruiselines had dress codes for guests who wanted to eat in the dining room. RC's guests were made to follow them. Carnival's guests weren't. My first night on Carnival was such a huge disappointment when I saw everyone in the dining room wearing shorts and t-shirts. On RC, I LOVED having to dress up at night and seeing everyone else looking pretty/handsome. RC offered formal pictures of guests wearing their formal outfits. Carnival didn't do this. 3. Daily entertainment. RC offered entertainment throughout the day for every age type. Carnival did not. You were basically left to fend for yourself. 4. The overall ship design. RC made you feel like you were actually on a cruise. The interior design was incredible. Carnival's interior design was..well, juvenile. 5. The food. The first time I had lamb was on RC. They offered the coolest things for dinner. Carnival's dinner choices were weird. I was left to eat pasta all the time. Breakfast was 10 times better on RC. More choices. Better quality. 6. The skating rink. RC had one. Carnival didn't. 7. The kids. Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of screaming, little children. RC at least attempted to control them. Carnival didn't. I know there's more that I'm missing but some of the other posters may have pointed them out already (I haven't read the other posts in this thread).
  6. Usually with clearance items, it will say on the scanners that there aren't any in the backroom because the backroom team is supposed to pull all of the items that are on clearance. An exception to this is larger items like regular furniture, patio furniture, basketball hoops, etc. Yes, some clearance items are stored in the backroom but they are not located (meaning that they are no longer in the backroom system and thus will come up as being not in stock on the scanners). If you see a team member taking clearance items out from the backroom it could either mean that the items were all just pulled from the backroom or that they were sitting in the "staging area". The "staging area" is where team members go to "push" stock out to the floor. If there's a lot of a certain clearance item on the salesfloor and we don't have room to put anymore on the salesfloor, we store these items in "work as needed" carts in the staging area so when some sell we can put some more on the floor. Some stores are unorganized and don't do things this way but this is how my store handles clearance items. I hope that made sense. Your best bet is to just look around the store for the item instead of punching the numbers into the scanner. I don't want you to think that because the scanner says not in stock that your particular store doesn't have anymore of that item (this only pertains to clearance items however). Anywho, my boss made me the signing person from now on (starting last Monday) which means that I get to see which items will go on clearance and on which days. What happens is that at least twice a week my store gets mail and in the mail I receive signs that I must go through to use for sales and price cuts. With the regular signs comes clearance signs (that my store doesn't use anyway). On these signs it says what the item is, the regular price, the clearance price, and when the clearance price goes into effect. On Friday I was looking through some of the signs and threw the clearance signs on the department managers' desks without realizing that some people on this board would want to know what's going on clearance and when. Soooo I didn't really get to see what was going on clearance but here's a little bit of what I did see. The shampoo aisles will be reset on January 14th. There were quite a few signs for shampoo that will be going on clearance. There were a few signs for toys. There were a few signs for baby items (along with a TON of "New at Target" signs.. mainly strollers, carseats, and other "big" baby items.. the baby department will probably be redone in the next few weeks). There were a few signs for grocery items. I go back to work on Monday so I'll check to see if there's anything else that's noteworthy on clearance (if we get more mail that is).
  7. Not sure if this is true for all stores but all Christmas clearance items are going salvage tomorrow morning (at my store at least).
  8. I don't personally remember seeing any apple juice on clearance at the Spring Hill Target. I would check the back clearance endcap in the grocery department though. There may be a couple there that I didn't see. You know what's great about working at Target? Finding other customer's stashes of clearance stuff. I was working tonight and found a BUNCH of Christmas clearance items hidden behind some stuff on the shelf. Of course I bought it all. I got 8 Airwick Decospheres (28 cents each), 1 Method candle (28 cents), 2 Method air freshener "pills" (69 cents each), 1 bottle of Method hand soap (24 cents), 1 bottle of Method dish detergent (29 cents), 2 Curious perfume sets ($1.89 each), 1 Drakkar Noir cologne set ($2.49), and 1 box of Choxie chocolate ($1.50). That's just the stuff I found. I also got 10 boxes of candy canes (.09 cents each) and 10 stockings (.09 cents each). I also got a Dirt Devil "Kone" (one of those hand vacs) on clearance for $19.98.
  9. About the train, aksmommy is probably right. Corporate probably pulled them. It may have been a mistake on corporate's part when they marked them down. As for the Cascade, my store is usually good about pulling things that come up as "not on file". I'm willing to bet that these were supposed to be pulled as well. My store didn't have any when we started to do the Christmas markdowns (I did see them in other stores however) so my guess is that these were meant to be pulled before the seasonal stuff went on clearance. If they are coming up regular price, this means that they went salvage. The Clorox wipes should have been pulled as well. By the way, the New Year's sets are on clearance for $4.xx (50% off). I'm unsure if they say the year on them or if they could be used for next year. They contain plates, napkins, and confetti (among other things).
  10. Target has on clearance some High School Musical themed mp3 players. The regular mp3 players are $18.xx. The video ones are $49.xx.
  11. LOL! Be careful. I remember finding another customer's stash of Valentine's Day clearance items last year. They were behind a few boxes of popcorn. I had no choice but to put everything back with the other clearance items. The next day, the customer returned and was pretty angry that it was all gone. I went to my Target today. I scored some 69 cent bags of Hershey's Kissables as well as 3 pairs of pajama bottoms (each $2.98), an off white tank top for $1.98 (it was in the girls department but I fit in size XL tops), and a pair of panties for $2.98. The Christmas department was condensed into 1 aisle and a small part of the backwall. I won't be surprised if my store doesn't even make it to 90%. Found a ton of cute clothes (robes, socks, onesies) for babies but it's only 30% off (I have a new baby entering the family next August so I must stock up). Toys are still 30% off but I'm pretty sure it'll go to 50% next Wednesday.
  12. So I asked a member from the price change team today when the toys would be marked down further and he said that the toy markdowns are usually done on Wednesdays. He also said that sometimes it skips a week so it might happen this Wednesday or next Wednesday. At least that's how it works at my store.
  13. This is true. However, jcarr said that they came out of the store just as they were opening the doors. This would mean that the registers had to be open so they could pay for their things. At my store, we open our registers 15 minutes before we open. And our cashiers can't punch in until 8:00. They couldn't have bought these things before the store opened. So the employees probably purchased these items the night before. Also, we can put things aside for ourselves if we want to but we can't purchase them until we're on our breaks or off the clock.
  14. I KNOW that they will go down to 75% because I remember that happening last year. I don't remember exactly when it went to 75% but I believe it was on a weekend last year so maybe this weekend although I'm not entirely sure. I've asked a couple of people I work with and they don't know either. If any of the price change team members are at work today when I go in, I'll ask them.
  15. The Spring Hill, FL store went 75% off yesterday. We had the backwall and 3 aisles of stuff left. My manager condensed it all to fit into two aisles and a small part of the backwall. We don't have a lot left thankfully. I had to put away 5 carts of stuff that people left all over the store. Not fun.
  16. I'm 19 and I received Dance, Dance Revolution from my aunt and uncle. Fun stuff!
  17. I posted some hidden deals in the other thread but I'll repost a few again for anyone who is interested. Cascade gel packs Clorox wipes Glad bags/plastic bowls/plastic wrap Hair care sets Glade candles (certain scents although I'm not entirely sure which ones) Method stuff Red boxed toys (I've seen them still in the toy department in several stores) Some of the stationary department gift bags/wrapping paper (lots of non-Christmasy ones) Lots of purses/passport holders/jewelry/accessories Pooh baby gift sets (not the blue or pink ones.. these have red onesies and other red baby things) Car care sets Washcloths Tablecloths/napkins/chair covers (nice material not paper or plastic) Candles (some are purple and orange.. not all of the seasonal clearance candles are red or green) Chocolate chips (raspberry and mint flavors)
  18. If I read the OP's post correctly, she didn't say that she had talked to a manager initially about returning the item. Therefore, the person she talked to must have been a regular employee who was following store policy. This employee does not have any power to do much of anything except to follow the guidelines that he/she was trained to go by. God forbid this employee didn't want to lose his/her job. The OP also said that she talked to the manager and he was apologetic and told her to bring the pajamas back. It appears as though something is being done. What more do you want to happen? The company doesn't care? Yet, the OP said that the manager was apologetic..
  19. They were located by the children's movies at my store but your store could be different. In fact, your store is probably sold out of them since the Valentine's Day ones are already out. I can't remember the titles but there was one that had little lights that blinked and there were several $1.00 ones as well. goofy-Target doesn't put holiday movies on clearance. They go back to the manufacturer if we don't sell all of them. Btw, in case anyone shops around the Tampa Bay area Targets, I was told that the Target stores in my district will go to 75% on Sunday.
  20. "Poor customer service"? Because they were following their own policy? To the OP, I think it's best to take it up with the manufacturer. Circo (I believe that's who you said made the pajamas) made a defective product and if you want them pulled from the shelves, you must go through the manufacturer.
  21. So I was at another Target last night and noticed that at this particular store, a lot of their seasonal clearance items weren't all together. They were spread out throughout the store by department. At my Target, we have all of the seasonal clearance items in one section to keep things organized. Here's a mini-list of items that aren't necessarily Christmasy but are (currently) 50% off. Just in case your store is like the one I visited last night. Christmas Morning Barbie Makeup Sets (the ones with the black packaging) Some fragrance sets Cosmetic stocking stuffers (these include grooming sets, eyeshadows, cosmetic bags, confetti balls) Red and white dog bones (these were on a sidecap at my store so check your store to see if they're still on a sidecap or on a back clearance endcap instead of being with the seasonal clearance items) Cascade gel packs (these are in small boxes with red and green packaging) Ziploc/Glad bags/canisters "Professional" Hair Care sets (these include RedKen and American Crew.. there are two bottles per set and one bottle alone regularly costs more than the current clearance price) Candles Stationary Department gift bags/wrapping paper/stickers/etc. (Little known fact.. some of the wrapping paper and gift bags in the stationary department are on clearance. We just didn't put clearance signs up because only SOME of it is on clearance. We couldn't move all of it to the seasonal department because then that aisle would be practically empty. We won't be moving them until we reset that aisle. There are Christmasy items and there are also PLAIN items (plain green, plain red) that are also on clearance. Be sure to scan them to check if they're on clearance) Stationary Department plates and napkins (again, scan them to check if they're on clearance) As far as candy goes, we carry two types of some candy. Only the packaging is different on them. For example, we carry two different bags of Lindor milk chocolate truffles. Same candy. Two different DPCIs. Two different prices. Be sure to check the non-seasonal candy aisle. Some team members stock these wrong because the packaging LOOKS the same. The only difference between the bags is that the seasonal ones have small white snowflakes on the packaging. Some of the bags are more noticeable than others. Flavored chocolate chips (there are raspberry and mint ones) Sports sets (there are sets of kickballs and other sports items in red boxes that are 50% off) Christmas books (check the book department.. we didn't realize the Christmas books were on clearance until we scanned them) HTH a little.
  22. Here's the deal. It DOES depend on each store. If there's a lot left still and it doesn't seem like anyone is buying the seasonal stuff anymore, there's a better chance that it will go 75% than a store that doesn't have much left and is selling a lot of it. For example, as far as I know (I had yesterday off so I may not be 100% correct), my store had 4 aisles and the backwall left with Christmas clearance (however we probably could've condensed it into 3 aisles if we wanted to). It's moving pretty well. The Christmas part of the store has been the busiest part of the store over the last few days. So are we going to move to 75% soon? Maybe, maybe not. It depends on whether my manager wants everything gone NOW or if he wants more dough to trickle in. Makes sense. If it's selling well, why would we loss money just for the sake of getting rid of it all? On Wednesday, we put out the value/bulk items in the aisles that had Christmas items in them (which we condensed into another aisle). Apparently, some of the value/bulk items are going on sale this Sunday so all of it has to be out by this Sunday. If other stores still have a lot of the Christmas stuff out, they HAVE to mark things down to 75% so they have room to put the value/bulk items out. And my guess is that they will go to 75% either today or tomorrow. If your store is selling a lot of Christmas items right now, they might not go to 75% until Sunday or a day or two after that. Also, it depends on what the price change team is doing. As far as I know, the price change team at my store has a few more other markdowns to do in other departments before they can get to the Christmas stuff. Once they finish those markdowns, then they can move onto the Christmas markdowns.
  23. Gator Pam-There were no Fly products on clearance at my Target. Back on topic.. Be sure to check out the little makeup stocking stuffer items in the cosmetics department. I bought a cute eyeshadow duo as well as a personal care set for 99 cents each. Also the black boxed makeup sets are 50% off. Some are on clearance for $4.99 and some are $7.49. Also, I put out a bunch of new electronics clearance items today. There were several kinds of book lights (saw one for as low as $2.98). Also, the Disney video mp3 players are on clearance as well as the clips for them. There were also cd players and clocks. Also, some of the dog collections are on clearance (the Woolrich collection which includes sweaters, moose toys, and pet beds in red/orange/green colors and the purple/blue collection (brand name is escaping me right now) with the little dresses, peacock toys, pet beds, and carrying bags). As far as toys go, I saw some National Geographic toys on clearance (we had a lot of the dinosaur excavation sets) some sort of Spongebob Video Now item, My Little Pony castle, and lego sets. If anyone wants to know anything else, let me know because I work tomorrow morning again.
  24. My store was doing toy markdowns on Sunday. I'm not sure what the percentage was but I did see some for 50 and some for 30. Here's a short list of some items I saw that were on clearance: Kool Toyz (which includes robots, fire trucks, doll sets, play food sets, doctor kits, dirt devil vacuums, electric keyboards, laptops) Bratz Toys (I saw microphones as well as the actual dolls) Preschool Toys (some sort of Weeble castle, little animals that make crinkly noises) Stuffed animals Some sort of Elmo toy Backyardigans toys (chairs, figures, kits) Dolls (strollers, triplets) Superman toys Batman toys Large toy cars Holiday Barbies Leapster toys (not the computer toys.. these were games and such for smaller children) I'll be working tomorrow morning so if I see anymore, I'll let you guys know. As for Christmas items, don't be surprised if they start at 50% off tomorrow in some stores. I know that my manager was talking about starting at 50. blssed2bme-Target will not do an adjustment on Christmas items.
  25. Pssst... If you're a fan of TV on DVD movies, be sure to head to Target the day after Christmas. There are quite a few popular ones that are regularly $45-$60 that will go on sale for $29.99. That's all I'll say though.
