  1. My favorite adult games for the DS are Brain Age, Big Brain Academy, Cooking Mama, Trauma Center, and Magnetica (it's just like the online game Zuma... super fun!).
  2. If you would like to save your games, I suggest buying one. Especially if you have games that have save points (areas in a game where you can save your progress so you can avoid having to start all over again the next time you play). To answer someone else's question, regular SD cards work. Wii SD cards tend to be more expensive than regular SD cards so my suggestion is to get a regular SD card with at least 1 GB of memory. You can find great deals online (just search in the online deals forum).
  3. I just got mine today. They are super cute and I'm sure the people that I'm giving them to will love them. :)
  4. Thanks a bunch! My sister asked for some good makeup for Christmas but I knew Bare Escentuals was expensive. This softens the blow a little. :)
  5. Actually, I worked at Target for 2 years and 85% of my coworkers did care about our customers or at least we pretended we did. I'm sorry you haven't come in contact with even one caring employee at any of your Targets, Walmarts, or Kmarts but maybe the problem is that you're expecting too much out of the employees. *shrugs*
  6. At every store I've worked at, I've had to watch videos about asking customers if they need assistance. However, my bosses would be angry as heck if I asked every or almost every customer I come in contact with if they need help. Every worker has certain tasks that they must complete and we can't complete them if we spend most of our time asking customers if they need assistance. It may seem like it's part of our job but nothing would get done if we focused mainly on talking to the customers (unless you're a cashier of course).
  7. Personally, I would have gone to the employees and ASKED for help. As someone who works in the retail industry, one thing that really annoys me is when someone needs help, is standing directly behind me while fake coughing or sighing or telling the person they're with that they need help, and yet doesn't want to tell me directly that they need help. My job is not to go up to every customer and ask if they need help so unless someone comes up to me and asks for it, I'm not going to just assume that they need help. I highly doubt that those employees cared whether or not you bought a couple of outfits or not to be honest. It won't effect their paychecks any. I just don't understand what harm it does to a customer to come up to an employee and ask for help. If anything, employees give better service when a customer politely asks for help rather than beating around the bush.
  8. What's that supposed to mean? She had an untrained worker do a stupid thing. That has nothing to do with how much money they make. Just because someone makes at or close to minimum wage doesn't make them any less of a person than people who make more.
  9. I didn't get much (I'm way too picky) but I did get the following: Target Stick Vacuum-$10 Jewelry Armoire-$35 Family Guy Volume 4-$15 Planters Nuts Gift Pack-$7 Belk Travel Mug-$8 I may continue shopping later since I'm refreshed after taking a nap. No real annoyances today other than people walking way too slow for my liking. I haven't experienced any out of stocks either except for the $25 Hamilton Beach mixer at Target but we have a raincheck for that anyway.
  10. Thanks a bunch! Does anyone have a code for free or cheaper shipping?
  11. I know that last year my store had a huge line by the time I got there at 4. People were running, going crazy, and it was nonstop until around 2 pm when it died down a little. If you plan on doing your BF shopping at Target, I suggest getting there early because there are always a couple of people who start camping out the night before and the line builds and builds overnight.
  12. I went to my Target last night and here's a few things I found (hopefully these haven't been posted yet). Pantene shampoo-$5.xx... It's the big bottles with a trial size bottle of conditioner. Thanksgiving stuff-There were a lot of cute things that I was thinking of getting but I'm hoping the price goes lower in the next few days. I found little toothpicks with leaves attached to them (these would be super cute on appetizers), plates, leaf decorations (I was thinking of putting these randomly on our Thanksgiving Day table), invitations, and plate holders. These were at 30%. Wheat Chex-$2.08... I'm hoping these go lower because I have a coupon for $1 off two and it would be great to make chex mix for Thanksgiving. Kool Aid packets-Lemon for 11 cents each
  13. Well, are the Wiis out in the open where people can see them or did an employee tell a customer that they have Wiis in the backroom but can't sell them? If they're not out in the open, they don't have to sell them.
  14. It's completely fair. I don't remember seeing any law that says that stores HAVE to sell anything to anyone. First of all, maybe they have a reason for it. Maybe they can make more profit by holding out until Black Friday rather than selling them now. Second, it's not extremely easy to get a hold of popular items like the Wii. How fair would it be for Walmart to advertise the Wii in their Black Friday ad only to have maybe a handful of Wiis in stock come Black Friday? If they're holding out until BF, I actually think they're smart for doing so.
  15. I worked at Target last year during Black Friday. I believe I was scheduled to come in at 4 and we opened the doors at 5.
  16. The store manager is not always at the store. That's why they have executive managers and department managers to make decisions like that. If a department manager doesn't want to sell you a display, he/she doesn't have to. Every store is going to be different based on the store's needs, schedules, etc. Does anyone know if there are Glad coupons out there for more than 20 or 40 cents? I plan on going to Target today and buying a few but I only have 20 cent and 40 cent coupons. Just wondering if I can get an even better deal. Oh and btw, in terms of when Halloween will go down to 75%, I know that when I was working there, my store stayed at 50% for a long time because we were selling a lot at that percentage. What determines when prices go lower is how well it's selling.
  17. No offense but Target doesn't HAVE to sell you anything. And no, they don't sell all of their displays. If there's the same exact Foodsaver in a box, you have to take the boxed one rather than the display. I'm confused as to why some people say that they have to be "firm" in order to get whatever they want at THEIR chosen price when the store doesn't HAVE to give in to the whole silly "the customer is always right" scheme. Anywho, yesterday I got a box of gushers for $1.99 (half off) and a box of toothpaste with two travel tubes for $1. My mom also got two bottles of Tide for $3.48 and two bottles of Purex for $2.02. I can't wait for the Halloween stuff to go down to 75%.
  18. For those people wondering about employees buying clearance items, when I worked at Target, we were allowed to keep clearance items (and regular priced items as well) in our carts but we could only buy them on our breaks. Some employees (including a couple team leaders and managers) put carts full of clearance items in the backroom on hold for themselves. I remember seeing carts and carts full of items in the backroom the day of the huge toy clearance. It wasn't a big deal. My managers knew it wasn't fair for us to miss out on the deals just because we were working. I was even asked by a team leader on Black Friday to put a portable dvd player on hold for her. My managers knew about it but didn't care. I guess it depends on whether or not your store's managers care about their employees or not.
  19. The toys on the top shelves are not necessarily Black Friday items. Around this time of year, Target gets more and more product in and there's not enough room in the backroom to store it all. Eventually, other areas in the store will have items on the top shelves as well (small appliances, seasonal, etc.). And btw, it's DPCI, not DCPI (not that it matters really).
  20. Quick question (don't think it has been mentioned). I don't work at Target anymore so I don't know the heads up on what's on clearance and what's not on clearance (that's the only real thing I miss about working there... HA!). Does anyone know if they have black or navy pants on clearance? They don't necessarily have to be dressy. Even in the girls department. Like school uniform pants or anything else like that. TIA!
  21. Are you talking about the ones in blue boxes? If so, at my store, they're located in the toddler/preschool toy aisle. A few days ago, I went to Target with my mother and she bought quite a few t-shirts and onesies (the 4th of July ones) for my cousins who have birthdays in August. Some were a dollar, some were $1.99. Great deal. I needed a couple of toys for birthday gifts so I bought two Parents Magazine toys at half price. Don't know if it's been posted but one is called a Critter Chain and the other is wooden block letters. Pretty cute for a 1 year old and they were $6.xx each. I'm counting on you guys to help with good deals since I don't work at Target anymore. It's awful knowing that I don't get a heads up on clearance deals anymore. Ugh.
  22. A code yellow is when a parent is missing their child. For those who are looking for the other seasons that are on price cut, I won't be able to get a list until Friday.
