  1. This is not exactly about clearance items but I figured I'd just give a heads up to those who like TV on DVD movies. There's a bunch of TV on DVD movies that went on temporary price cut today for $16.99. This is probably the lowest price I've seen them go down to. Mainly they're season 1 and the only two I can remember off the top of my head is Arrested Development and Supernatural. If anyone wants me to, I can print a complete report of everything that went on price cut today at work and I can list some of the things to look out for. I know this is a clearance thread but if you guys are also looking for good deals on non-clearance items, I can help you with those too.
  2. Haven't done this a while... These are some items that will be going on clearance in the near future. As always, the clearance price may be the next markdown price or the lowest price it'll go down to before it goes salvage. Markdown schedules are different from every store so don't go to your store expecting the above clearance prices because they may be different. I included the DPCI so that you guys could type in the DPCI into the scanners to either check clearance prices and/or find out which aisle these items are in. Hope this helps someone.
  3. They won't pricematch other store prices. Different stores have different markdown schedules.
  4. These are used when the store is checking "outs". Anytime you see a sticker, it means that there is no more of that particular item in the backroom. It has nothing to do with clearance.
  5. Don't think this has been posted yet. Someone mentioned the Cranium Pop 5 games but there's also the Scene It: Friends edition board game on clearance for $6.xx.
  6. You bring up a good point. Customers are calling corporate not only because cashiers refuse to take expired coupons, but also because they're basically not getting items for free plus the overage. If the register beeps, it's because there's a problem and the cashier has to find out what that problem is. If the register says that we shouldn't take the coupon, then we won't. Calling corporate only makes the big guys at Target notice that there's a problem with people using coupons and eventually something will be done about them.
  7. I wouldn't take it personally. They're just doing their jobs. And also, part of their plan is to intentionally NOT be discreet. This way, if a customer had planned on shoplifting, they would think twice about doing it knowing that a security guard is watching them.

  9. So why even bother coming back several times a day for a free candy bar? It's a candy bar, for goodness sake! Also, that website got ugly because people from here have been going over there and posting things about how Target employees are "low-lifes" and get paid minimum wage. THAT to me is rude.
  10. They should be allowed to post whatever they want online. You're venting about them venting. If you don't like what they say, don't read it. Second, as a Target team member, I agree with a lot of what they say on that website. However, some of the posters there are over the top in what they say so don't take it to heart. I have no problems with taking coupons at my store. What people don't understand is that, yes, the store does get money back from MANUFACTURER coupons. However, store coupons are taken from our store total. So when someone uses 20 store coupons each time, it DOES (indirectly) come from our pockets. Usually, our hours are cut because of people abusing store coupons. I'm pretty sure the Choxie coupons were posted so that customers could try different flavors. Instead, people are taking 60 at a time. How is that fair? Oh and btw, some of you have been joining the TargetUnion forum and posting over there. Just wondering, what's the point in that? It's not a crime to use coupons. The Target employees who post there are venting about the people who ABUSE coupons. If you're not abusing them, why post there to complain?
  11. There are others although it depends on what your store carries. I know when I did the store signs for my store this week, there were probably 25 different ones but I could only use maybe 10 because my store didn't carry the rest of them.
  12. Actually, store managers can decide to limit coupons if they feel as though the customer is abusing them. Here's a list of items that will be going on clearance sometime in the near future (based on the store signs I received at work today). 13. I received a store sign for the See. Spot. Save. area that said that all red and green dot items will go 75% off on February 15th.
  14. Yep. Also, if a set is missing an item or two, they will put an "As Is" sticker on it. For example, if a 3-piece set of pajamas is missing one of the pieces, the sticker will say "As Is-Missing 1 of 3".
  15. My store is starting to mark down some of the Global Bazaar items on Sunday. I don't know how much the prices are going to go down and I don't know if it's only going to be a few items or the whole thing. As usual, your store could be different. Just thought I'd give a heads up to those who are interested. Also, while doing my store's signs yesterday I saw a sign for the See. Spot. Save area. ALL red and green dotted items will be 50% off on Sunday. If you don't know what items are red and green dotted, look at the back of each item and there will be a colored dot there. 16. Just a heads up for those looking to buy baby items, this coming Sunday's sale will include a lot of baby items (from big things like car seats, high chairs, strollers, and baby gates to little things like food, bottles, and diapers). I did my store's signs again today and came across only a few items that will be on clearance in the near future (my store has the clearance date listed as 2/11 although your store may be different). I wrote every clearance item down that I came across. Here's a list: Avent Isis breast pump Clearance price: $37.48 Regular price: $149.99 DPCI: 030-05-1844 105 ct. Bounce with Febreeze dryer sheets Clearance price: $2.44 Regular price: $4.89 DPCI: 003-07-0246 Betty Crocker Fruit Roll Ups Clearance price: $1.94 Regular price: $3.89 DPCI: 071-20-0520 15 ct. 17. I can tell you for a fact that they're gone. The only way you may be able to get one is if one is returned. I noticed some people have been saying that some items come up a lower price than what the percentage on the sign says when you scan them. For example, a clearance endcap may say "30% off" but some things will come up 50 or 75% off. Just a little note.. the sign actually says "30% off OR MORE". This is why it's a good idea to scan all clearance items you're interested in.
  18. And that's how some stores lose sales. One store in my district constantly has carts and carts full of stuff sitting where guest services is. Everytime I go to this particular store there are things all over the floor, a ton of empty shelves and endcaps, wrong signing, etc. At my store, if an aisle looks "shopped", my managers have us stop whatever we're doing so that we can fix it. If an endcap is half empty, we must stop what we're doing and fix it. If there is something on the floor (whether it is a bottle of shampoo or a small piece of cardboard), we must stop what we're doing and pick it up. If the bins at guest services are half full, they will call the salesfloor people to come clean out the bins. If the bins are full, they will cart up the items for you and bring it to your department. There's a reason why my store does better (sales-wise and guest survey-wise) than even the SuperTargets in our district. Is your Target a SuperTarget? Generally bigger stores get trucks more often than smaller ones. During the holidays my store got trucks everyday but now we're back to Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Try asking someone on the salesfloor when they get trucks in.
  19. KC is partially right. It IS better to return the item late at night and come back first thing in the morning to rebuy it. However, at my store, we're required several times throughout the day to reshelf "abandon items" (items that either guests didn't want when they were checking out or items that guests left lying around in the wrong department) and unopened, unused return items. When I have the opening shift, I usually reshelf these items at around 12ish, 3ish, and 4ish. When I close, I usually reshelf them as I'm zoning (cleaning up and fixing the store to make it look better) which starts around 6ish. And after I'm done zoning and just picking up after guests who are still in the store, I'll make several runs to guest services to pick up my "go-backs". As a rule in my store, all go-backs must be out of the bins and on the salesfloor when the store closes before we can go home. Second, about KC's comment about the younger guest service people having to "reticket/reshelf" items. Nothing needs to be reticketed when it's a return and the guest service people don't have to reshelf these items because (a) it's not their job and ( if they're a minor they get to go home 15 minutes before the store closes so they really don't care if the items are reshelved or not. You can take a chance and try to rebuy the item when a younger person (or someone who doesn't appear to like their job) is working but the majority of these people at my store would be the first ones to say "no" to you. If you want to take that chance, go ahead. However, KC's suggestion of returning late at night and rebuying it the next morning is your best bet. Want to further your chances of being able to rebuy it? Ask the guest service person if they will be receiving a truck the night you return it. If they say yes, reconsider returning at another day. If they say no, that means that the team members who work that night couldn't buy it because they don't have time to and there will be no team members in the store until the next morning so you have a better chance of getting it. If it seems as though the item has disappeared, it could be because the item is still in the bins behind guest services from the night before or a team member put the item in a different department. Don't assume that because it's not in the kitchen appliance department that it's gone. My store likes to be organized and therefore puts like items together but I've been to a ton of other Targets that had clearance stuff all over the place.
  20. Today my store marked down a TON of stuff in the domestics department. Most of it was 50% off. We had 4 or 5 tubs and steels in the backroom of stuff that was marked clearance that we were supposed to attempt to push to the floor (of course there were too many things and not enough room so there's still a lot of it sitting in the backroom). Here's a list of some of the things I found just quickly walking through the domestics department: Electric blankets Sheet sets Comforters Rugs Towels Drapery rods Curtains Kids bedroom items Also, here's a few things in other departments that the price change team was marking down today: Cosmetics (a lot of the Sonia Kashuk stuff as well as the men's shaving sets that are located in the cosmetics area) Facial care items (astringents, black head cleansers, lotions) Some (drinking) glasses (I saw a few really nice sets for $9.xx) Handheld massagers and foot massagers (half off at $19.xx) A few clocks (these are located in the housewares department, not the electronics department) Also, a couple of things to look out for that will be marked down in the next couple of weeks (based on the store signs I received today.. many of them have a starting date of February 11th so look out for these deals around that date): Kitchen appliances (this section will be redone so a lot of the current items we carry will be discontinued and thus put on clearance) Outdoor items (this is mainly for stores that have a garden department) Lamps
  21. Either the napkins are going to be something that the store will be carrying as a year-round item or they will be marked down eventually. A week or so ago I bought some Christmasy pajamas that had just been reduced and I have noticed some kids Christmasy clothing have been reduced recently so I'd just wait. No sense in arguing with the cashier. If it's ringing up regular price, there must be a reason for it.
  22. My store's price change team marked down items in the jewelry department, girls, boys, and infants today. I have a baby cousin coming this year so I bought a rattle ($1.48), 2 onesies with stars on them (98 cents each), a 2 pack of bibs (98 cents), and a six pack of socks (98 cents). We had 3 endcaps with clearance stuff on them and when I left this afternoon, 50% off it was gone.
  23. Yesterday I bought 2 of the 3 piece pajama sets (the Christmasy ones) for $4.98 (75% off). They're really cute and comfortable! Also, a couple of things that will be going on clearance in the next few days: Laundry detergent (can't remember the brand name) A few Archer Farms snacks A couple of different kinds of mops/buckets (that aisle just reset so we'll be getting some new things in that aisle) Nothing really good. That's all I can remember from the signs that I received yesterday. I'll be getting more when I get into work this morning so I'll write down some more if I remember.
  24. I found them on a clearance endcap in electronics.
  25. I bought one last night too and I hooked them up this morning and I love how they sound. I'm using mine with my mp3 player rather than with my computer though. I would've bought the iHome that was on clearance (reg. $149.99, clearance price is $37.xx) but I use my RCA mp3 player more than my ipod.
