I work in a grocery store and my store recently put out White Christmas ice cream (which was a huge hit last year) as well as peppermint and eggnog ice cream. I tried the eggnog one last year and I wasn't a fan of it.

Last year we left the house at 4 and came back around 2. I don't know how some of you can stay out all day because I was dead tired come 2 o'clock. Not to mention that I hadn't bought much so I was not in the greatest of moods. We then went home and relaxed a bit and went out to a couple of local stores. Obviously at that time, there were not a lot of good deals left but we were just out to experience the holiday rush.

As someone who has worked for Target, I know that it's store policy to only give out discounts if an item is slightly damaged or if it's a display model of an item that is on clearance (and even then, the display must be the absolute last one). I think that alexac was extremely lucky to get $100 taken off. It doesn't hurt to ask but most stores abide by Target's policy so most likely you won't be given a discount unless, like I said, it's slightly damaged or a display model.

A few things to watch out for from a former Target employee. Here's a brief list of things that aren't necessarily Christmasy but are marked down anyway: paper towel plastic wrap ziploc/glad storage containers candles, room sprays, decospheres, etc. soap candy (you'll be surprised what you can find mixed in with the regular candy.. the Christmas candy has snowflakes on the bags) perfume/cologne sets (last year, i found a ton of perfume/cologne sets mixed in with the regular perfumes/colognes) toys (there's always christmas toys that will be found in the toy department) clothing boxed gifts (these will be in red boxes) side cap things (side caps are displays located in the actual aisle... sometimes they forget to move them to the clearance section) Be sure to scan anything that interests you because you may be surprised at what you find.

This new return policy started in August. It's unfortunate that a few scammers had to ruin it for everyone but the policy IS posted at the guest service desk, at the registers, and on the back of your receipts. Like I said, it's unfortunate but it's certainly not Target's fault.

I think the longest I've had to wait for an online order was 18 days and that was TORTURE. I've ordered from Bareescentuals.com before and it didn't take long to receive it. Maybe I was lucky?

If you stash something, make sure you find a GOOD hiding spot. First of all, you run the risk of a customer finding your stash because there's always a massive amount of people coming through on Christmas Eve. And with all the employees that will be there that day, they might find it as well.

Most stores won't accept returns for items they do not carry. You can't return the shoes at just any shoe store. Not only does the store have to carry the shoes, but the UPC code has to match as well.

I know!! :) I'm done Christmas shopping and wrapping. We've already done our baking. We're having Christmas Eve dinner at my aunt's house and we're bringing a bottle of wine, nothing else. So my family is basically done with everything. It's nice being able to relax and not having to worry over little things that must be done before Christmas. I actually work in a grocery store and it's going to be super busy over the next few days. I'm sure I'll be thrilled when Christmas rolls around because that means it'll start to die down.

I like my current job. That's not the issue. I'm merely pointing out that some customers complain about everything. They expect retail workers to do everything for them and yet they treat the employees like crap. If it's my job to be treated like crap, that's fair. But no where did I read in my job description that I'm supposed to put my feelings aside as a human being and put up with people's rudeness for $6 an hour.

Do you want me to send you a link that explains the incredible lack of jobs in my town? Maybe where you live and when you were in college things were different. But don't tell ME "bull". I was unemployed for 4 months before I got the job I'm at right now. I was desperate and willing to work ANYWHERE and I STILL couldn't find anything. Oh and btw, more than half the things you listed in your last paragraph deal with customer service. Not to mention the fact that you held at least 8 different jobs while you were in college. Obviously there's something wrong with this situation. Nice try.

No, I didn't say that 90% of customers were polite. I said that I was polite to 90% of my customers. It's NOT ok to treat others poorly so WHY is it ok for them to treat ME so poorly? It's good to hear that you worked in a nursing room through college. But like I said, it's not possible where I live. And I don't know how old you are or how long ago you went to college but the economy isn't that great compared to how it was just a few years ago.
