  1. try the outgrown sales coming up in the fall (sept/oct)...local churches usually do these and I find SSOOOO many leos and ballet outfits for my DD6 for a few bucks :)
  2. Watch out with the paint...it says its washable, but my DD6 painted on our sidewalk w/it and the sidewalk is still that green color (faded, but still visable)...this is after MANY thunderstorms and flooding in our area! I'm staying away from it from now on (and i don't think our neighbor is thrilled either)...
  3. wow...that is adorable...my DD6's birthday is coming up in October and she would LOVE one of these dolls...are there any codes out there to bring the prices down?? TIA
  4. That was me! lol...my DD6 thinks it's awesome that I love toys as much as she does...she's also a huge fan of the Target 75% off sale :) she actually ran towards the toy section (causing others to laugh). She knows the red tags and that she can only get something if it has one our entire storage room and finished basement are FILLED with toys at the moment...my DD said that we need a bigger house for more toys, lol
  5. ok, someone else who picked up the Vsmile (pink)...just opened ours up (looked like it had been repackaged)...no microphone! It's in the picture on the box, but not IN our box...is it missing or is it not included??? I need to know because i'll return it if it's missing...TIA
  6. ok, I love you guys SOOOO much! Hit up the Concordville, PA store at 8:30am (while my DD6 was in ESY)...there were 3 associates w/guns changing the 30% to 75%, and i was ALONE...got my pick of anything...was kinda what my heaven would look like! lol...took me a minute to figure out that they needed to scan the item for me to get the lower price (since it wasn't in the system at that price yet)...sometimes i'm slower than the average bear :) Some stuff I picked up: Hooked on Phonics, 2nd grade and 2nd + ones (so excited to get them for $7.48 and $19.98!!!) Hannah Montana dolls $3.74, HSM pool and dolls $4.98 BLENDY PENS!!!! I was soooo excited since my DD6 has been begging for them for the past year and they are usually so expensive! picked up a box for $3.74 :) Also picked up some other blended pen set w/picture frames. Vsmile (pink) for $12.xx, some easy reader thingy (very similar to the TAG stuff)....i'll have to revise this later with the receipt! Anyways, big fun was had by me (even picked up the little carebears for myself, lol)....stopped at the Claymont DE target at 10:30am and it was wiped out! Still managed to find a HM closet set and a few other things...maybe it's better i missed the majority of stuff seeing as our storage area looks like a toy store
  7. alright, i guess i'll be checking my Targets (Wilmington, DE and Brinton Lake PA) tomorrow...like i "need" more toys right?
  8. Seeing this actually makes me a bit sick to my stomach...these people are the reason that kids couldn't find glasses to watch the movie...disgusting.
  9. Well...ours was out for the last week and had them on top of a chip display, but said they only put out 3,000 glasses TOTAL (as in all Walmarts). So, I put on my "mom hat" and we scoured all the movies for the Barbie 3D glasses (somehow I remembered we had them at home)...then my DD6 went through all my old People magazines and cut out all the Miley/Hannah faces and glued them on the barbie 3d glasses and used stickers/crayons/etc...hers looked really good and she had fun making them :) I agree that the TV version paled w/the cinema one (we saw it in the theatre), but it was still fun...and I used it as a teaching moment that sometimes you don't find what you want, but that just provides an opportunity to create something better :)
  10. that would be great! also, how does your system work and how do people like it? I think we'll be getting alot of upset folks right after this is implemented
  11. So you have to get the 3D glasses for the Hannah Montana movie from Walmart (they are free, but you can only pick them up there). WELL, our Walmart has been out of them for at least the past week! We keep checking since we heard about the movie coming on tomorrow...but they never got more and didn't limit how many people could just take There had to be a better way for this to be done...for instance people filling out an online form and having them shipped the glasses by mail, or even just instituting a limit on how many one person could have!!! My DD6 really has been upset about us not finding them, we have some 3d glasses that came with the Shrek movie, so we're going to try to use those...but it's really annoying that Walmart only got so many glasses and had no system for distributing them properly...grrr!
  12. I'm heading up a parking reform committee for my HOA community. We want to start requiring different color parking stickers w/random id numbers for the cars (to cut down on houses having like 10 cars)...does anyone know of some good sites to order these from? i'd appreciate any experiences with this kind of system as well as referrals to quality products we could use (we want stickers and not hang tags so people have to register their vehicles w/the number and cannot switch the tags to other cars). TIA!!!
  13. what is Justice??? my DD would love the cds...just gotta figure out where/what that store is?
  14. i'm really good at getting tickets to things (so good that my friends have me get theirs all the time)...so here's how you need to do it...firstly, i bet they had a presale (sometimes its a fan club/etc sale), some tickets are withheld and released at a later date. Don't buy online!!! waste of time and you cannot pick your seat location. Find out the number to the ticket office for the location you want, call ahead of time and ask about how it works for the day of the sale. Usually i've found that you can call 10min before tickets go on sale and be put on a phone que...then you get really close tickets before anyone else can. Since it's too late to do that (i'm assuming that you couldnt get tickets and it's all sold out?)...the best idea is to wait until the week of the game, around that time the ticket brokers get nervous and just want to unload their unsold tickets (often they are out of state and no-where near the venue), additionally people who bought tickets earlier have things come up and cannot attend, and will sell their tickets on craigslist for less than they paid. If you go to the venue right before the game starts you can snag tix for nothing from the local brokers/scalpers. good luck!
  15. Setting up a movie in the pool night for our community (264 homes). Trying to pick a movie that EVERYONE (young kids to older folks) would like. I'm leaning towards a Disney flick, maybe incredible journey? I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay a fee to show the movie in public if you arent charging anyone to see it (right?)...anyone have any good movie ideas for me? TIA!
  16. :) companies need to realize that people talk....now i'll look at southwest first for flights :) So glad that someone has their act together!
  17. I just spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone w/Comcast...partly because TWICE my phone service went out and I had to recall! They raised the fee of my tv service w/NO notice to me, and when I informed them that I had a 3/for deal they were like, ok. I guess they think that people won't read their bills and will just pay them...it was a $25 difference!!! I was getting so upset with their attitudes and the lack of caring that I finally said "cancel my service" Which, by the way, they didn't even try to change my mind about...just were like, OK, we will put in a stop service order!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. So I told them to stop it the 15th of July (since i'm paying for it till then anyways), which would give me time to find and carry over my phone #. THEN i get off the phone (angry) and come to find that both my Cable and my Internet Services are no longer operational...making me RECALL Comcast (turns out apparently the services stop when the order is put on the account, even if it's not supposed to take effect until a later date...something that would've been good to know!!!!)...finally my services are working again. AGH!!!!!! 5 yrs w/Comcast, paying my bill in full and on time...i'm done. Anyone have good experiences w/companies and want to share?
  18. It was the 1st three episodes of the series...I loved it too...at first my DD6 was like "what's a fraggle?" and now she loves it! I'm going to have to look for more! I'm not sure long the sale is going to go on for....
  19. So while I was waiting 2 hrs for their shipment (got my wii fit!) I saw LOADS of used dvd's for b2g3 free! Great titles too, I picked up Laguna Beach season 1 (3 disc set), Fraggle Rock (so excited!), Confessions of a Drama Queen (i think that's what it's called, w/Lindsay lohan), and another 2 i'm brain freezing on right now...In the end I paid $22 for all 5!
  20. Ah HA!!!! this was it...looks great for my dd6...anyone know of a good deal on this pen/books?
  21. So i was half listening to a commercial about a pen that worked with books (including spongebob and princess)...helping kids to sound out the words in the book. I didn't catch the name of the product, or anything else about it...anyone have any ideas what it is??? TIA :)
  22. OMG...i would've been out there...damn i wish we had that store in pa!
  23. The class as a whole (we were asked for $ for the class gift) was a gift card to an arts and crafts store...otherwise that would've been perfect.
  24. ok...i had her draw pictures for each of them and then we framed the pictures, w/thank you cards...thoughts?
  25. Tomorrow is the last day of school for my kindergartener, so we wanted to get a little present for her teacher, bus driver and reading coach...but I have no idea what to get them that will be nice, but not toooo expensive (we already chipped in for a teacher present from the entire class)...ideas?
