Headscarf - Like Grandma used to wear
mywarmbluefleece replied to vsa3janes's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I can't spell it but try searching for babushkas...thats what all the elderly people I know call them! -
Alsoo try 6pm.com, I have had very good luck with them (and it was when I was buying Converse). They are a very relaiable company. Search for coupon codes before you buy.

I wanted to let you guys know that the $1 days at Scholastic Teacher store are back. It only works if you are a teacher because they check by sending your first order to your school. You can also do this if you homeschool. http://shop.scholastic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1 I looked at all the books from grades 3-8 and they had some really good ones. I was able to pick up a lot of books about teaching writing. Good luck. This offer ends Jan 31 or while supplies last. They go quick and sometimes it takes long to check out so buyers beware!

Any battery deals out there.
mywarmbluefleece replied to sallnori's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
IF you go to the Dollar Tree, they have 4 packs of batteries for $1. I've been very happy with them. -
I'm going to need a 29 or 28 inch luggage by New Years Eve. I usually only travel with a carry on, and thats what I have. I travel a lot between Ohio and Florida and live in Ohio during the summer so I need something lightweight so I can lug all my stuff back and forth. I'd prefer some luggage that will last long, but I'd also like to spend less than $100, preferably less than $75. Any suggestions?

A big thank you to all who are involved in this website. You have saved me countless amounts of money, plus this is about the only civilized deal site thanks to the wonderful moderators and posters.

I am a teacher and the gifts I love most are the things kids make. They always make me smile when I am having a bad day! Teachers also love food and anything antibacterial :) Ornaments would also be nice, but oddly, I've never received one from a child!

Yay! I need a table and a coffee table! -
I need a tree. It has to be fake, because my brother and I are allergic to tree pollen and mold. Here are the other things I am looking for: 4-6 feet tallcolored lightsnot extremely widegood quality, and will last a while- quality is more important than priceon a great sale sometime before ChristmasI'd prefer to get it before Thanksgiving if possible because I hate crowds. Anyone know of a great deal? Quality matters before price, but it also has to be a good price.

Thank you for the advice. This is my first year I actually need supplies instead of just gifts and I don't know what is a good deal and what isn't.

When I lived up north, I usually gave to Coats for Kids and I sometimes got a child from the angel tree, too, but I couldn't always. This year and last year, I've "adopted' a family from our school. If your area doesn't have an angel tree, try calling your local school and seeing from the counselor what children are in need of. My daddy always used to "adopt" high schoolers because people forget about them. I like the idea about the elderly, too.

Its NY and Company's brand. It is a real light scent. I don't like scents at all but I did enjoy the apple scented one. Its very light scented and the lotion actually works!

Veterans Day discounts-Military?

I'm pretty sure Golden Corral offers a free meal to veterns on Veterans Day. I saw it in my dads DAV magazine. -
How do I tactfully get addresses for Christmas cards? I have all my friends Myspaces or Facebooks to keep in touch (I moved out of state) but this is my first year living on my own and I want to send Christmas cards but I don't have their addresses. A lot of my friends aren't listed because they just have cell phones and not land lines.

Thanks for all the ideas! I went to thw Dollar tree and got some very cute snowflake ornaments, Michaels to look at the trees, and Walgreens. I found a lot at Walgreens too, but I only got the stuff on sale. I also got my first big Christmas decoration! Its the porcelin gingerbread house at Hallmark that plays the walz from The Nutcracker. The lights move in beat to the song. I figure that is something I can use years from now. -

My mother's family was Russian Orthodox Catholic. They celebrate Christmas on January 7th. Every year, it was their "tradition" to take the nicest discarded Christmas tree from their neighbor's trash pile and set it up :) -

Awesome Tokanm, I have the flyer right here, but I didn't look at it because usually I want to buy everything there and I'm trying to be careful with my money. I am going to get my Christmas tree this week :) I pass Michaels on my way home so that makes it a super good deal. Chrissy, that is such a nice offer, but I am near the Everglades so it wouldn't work out. I cannot believe how many flea markets there are, and I am going to try to stop by and look at Christmas stuff because I didn't know they'd carry Christmas stuff. Also, I am going to try to check the Dollar Tree. I haven't been there for a while. I am excited! -
I am not one that goes over the top on decorating but I do need some decorations for my apartment. This is the first year I have my own apartment, and I have nothing for it because I ended up moving out sooner than I planned to. I do need to get some decorations before Christmas. I know its going to be expensive, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions and knew which stores have the best Christmas deals? I need a tree, too. I am thinking a 4' would be great.

Kmart has a pretty good shoe section. I will go there for shoes, and sometimes clothes (because they have XS and its hard to find) but leave as soon as I am done.

I guess I know where I'm going tomorrow.
