I haven't fully analyzed the ads but there's definitely something missing for me this holiday season. It could be any number of things though.....I just hope I can get myself in gear this weekend or at the very latest next week. I was hoping to talk my mother into brunch at denny's after BF but who knows I'll probably be so tired that I won't be up for it.

I'd say to be safe check with individual store manager. There's nothing quite like wasting a night in line and being shafted by an individual store managers policy.

I think the blurays went down maybe? I never get them for more than 10 (15 at most if I have to have title)
-
I was amazed at how clear True Blood is on the Bluray and when you can find good movies cheap it helps but also upconverts regular dvd's so I'd say yes its worth it
-
I got the bluray player for my parents. I guess I can always return it before xmas if I find a netflix capabale one before then. Considered getting BF and her hubby one but I don't think they'd enjoy it as much without netflix option.

I'm liking the walmart 32" and $198 laptop too and the 2T harddrive for 69.99 but unless I severely upset family by not turning up at their precious Thanksgiving DINNER nothing may happen for me this year. Who in their right minds does dinner on thanksgiving starting at 7?
-
My unmade plans have been wrecked by my brothers decision to do Thanksgiving DINNER at his home@#!#%# WTF, we have always had Thanksgiving lunch and he knows I'm a serial BF shopper. He also sends the question of what's on sale. Of course camping out on my own at Walmart isn't a fabulous idea and I'm sure I'll get crap about it but I'm still seriously considering it.
-
Are these deals online tomorrow or what? I get different items but no sale prices coming up. I noticed the sale a few days ago but no sale prices, what's the deal?
-
It's just you:P J/K but I honestly don't know anybody that enjoyed punky brewster maybe its more of a regional thing? Now bring out a snorks dvd and I'm all over it.

Aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.....I finally have some ads to be excited about but am very disorganized and in general fear of BF at Walmart.

What foods do you ALWAYS get asked to make during the holidays?

strawberry covered cheesecake. -
adscan would help ease my annoyance with coworkers uselessness. :)
-
my grandma loved everything. disney movies, weepy lifetime stuff, pride and prejudice, probably would have liked the blind side
-
never heard of a triple crockpot. They have a triple buffet warmer/server on sale at Macy's starting tomorrow and on BF not sure which deal is better as I'm not interested in them.

What store will you no way/no how shop at on Black Friday??
tinkrbel replied to Danascraps's topic in 2010
I try to avoid BB because it means camping or very close to it but would go anywhere depending on the sale. -
yay....shopping on my week off!!!!
-
Ditto. no real website for purchasing stuff either.
-
lalaloopsy dolls are 19.99 this week at target.

UGH I'm so torn... should I get 1 expensive gift or many smaller gifts
tinkrbel replied to Angelseyes28's topic in 2010
I think if you can you should, you can always add a few little things/stocking stuffers even from the dollar store depending on her age. nail polish(sally hansen on sale 1.99 at cvs this week), socks/slippers, her favorite candy, new hair clips/ties. You can also go online and print certificates too for a little added touch. As a kid I never got anything on my Christmas list(not sure why-I've never asked), but I always liked what I got. Our Dollar Tree has a really good selection of stuff from disney princess wands/jewelry to phone cases so if there's any in your area may be worth the look. -
they will price match the product price but not give you gift card. It works the same as store exclusive things(dvd exclusives/extra gifts). If BB offers an additional $10 off with another(game/dvd) purchase target/walmart will not honor that either.

Ditto. Its especially nice when people throw in the coupon codes so I don't have to do the searching myself, because I will forget to look sometimes.

It's a credit to you that your kids ASK to participate even if its not possible this year. Maybe donate time at a shelter/soup kitchen if money is tight and time is available. I don't know how old the kids are but I'm sure visiting a childrens ward in hospital or childrens home would be something different for the other children and bring so much joy (especially if/when the kids are similar in age).

we usually have an oven cooked turkey (sometimes along with a deep fried one), salad, white rice, black beans, yucca, cuban bread, store bought pumpkin pie, homemade strawberry covered cheesecake and rum pecan cake. I probably missed some stuff since all I eat is the bread, rice and beans, it seems like plates are going back and forth for a long time. One year we had a stuffed turkey rollup with spinach and stuff and sometimes we get creative with a quiche or cheese/onion tart. For drinks we have sidra, wine, soda and water. Usually my aunt picks up some egg-nog from the farm stores which we liquor up with dessert.

thanks for mentioning this one, I totally missed it and hope to be getting one.

Thanks for doing this again. I will try to have actually reviewed the ads seriously this time around :)
