  1. It's basically a smartphone, without the phone part of it. It won't run Windows or Mac programs, it's not a netbook or laptop. If all you want to do is read news headlines, maybe browse Craigslist or something, this would be fine. But gaming or watching movies, eh no...
  2. Android 1.6 is going to be pokey... It's basically an open-source iPad-like device. But it runs Android apps, not iPad apps. emptynest-2 is probably correct, it most likely cannot be upgraded to a new version of Android.
  3. TomTom's interface is superior, as you noted, but Garmin is by far more popular.
  4. http://www.oneshare.com $17 off any share today, Cyber Monday.
  5. I have one of those! every so often you have to trim the forest...
  6. Just don't complain if your man gives you a vacuum cleaner for Chistmas.
  7. The $19.99 jackets looked like vinyl. They were easy to pass by. Trust me, $19.99 retail was a stretch!
  8. I have to disagree with you disagreeing. Seems to me that since Dev waited in line, he earned his tickets and therefore had the right to do whatever he wanted with them. He could have just left with them too and not even used 'em. It's a free country, Dev gave the tickets to people of his choosing. He didn't charge for them or anything like that.
  9. My wife and I did something along those lines at Staples two years ago. We had a cart and some stuff and were waiting in line. The two guys ahead of us were college students. Their arms were loaded with various things they had picked up on sale, including "cake boxes" of CDs and DVDs. Since our cart wasn't full by any means, we told them they were welcome to put their items on in our cart too and we'd all make our way up to the register together. We were all in line for at least another 20 minutes and the guys were very appreciative.
  10. I was at Pep Boys earlier today to get the Castrol oil and Purolator oil filter deal, along with everyone else. There was a couple there where the husband was looking up the filter #s they needed in the book and the wife was grabbing them off the shelf. Only problem was that she was grabbing Purolator Gold filters, not the Purolator Classic that were part of the rebate. I stopped her and asked if they were planning on doing the rebate. They were, so I made sure they understood that they needed to get the cheaper Classic filters.
  11. I went to CVS with my wife earlier today. Spent $72.21 and got $59.78 in ECB. Not a bad haul...
  12. For anyone planning on going to Pep Boys, here are some useful links in reference to the deals: Purolator Oil Filter application guide: http://www.purolatorautofilters.net/resources/Pages/ApplicationGuide.aspx Fram Oil Filter application guide: http://www.framcatalog.com/Application.aspx?b=F RAIN-X wiper blade application guide: http://www.rainx.com/Products/Wiper_Blades/Selector.aspx Make a note of what specific items you need now and you can save time in the store --- get in, get out, get on to the next store!!! I went to Pep Boys last BF and they have their act together, even though it was low traffic while I was there. Plenty of employees in good moods and happy to help you find what you need. Those Rain-X Repel wiper blades are pricey, but oh-so-worth-it! Better than any other wiper blade I've ever tried. I'll be going again this year.
  13. Yes, I've ordered from them for 6+ years, probably over 45 orders, and wholeheartedly recommend them.
  14. You'll see it in your cart's total and it will be listed in the cart. You need to check out before your time elapses too. Also, you MUST click on the lightning button to actually place the item in your cart to get that price.
  15. Go to www.radioshack.com and view the Current Ad. ----------------- I just ordered the 4GB Sansa Clip+ for $29.99 plus $1.80 sales tax w/free ship-to-store. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3825489 Sure beats waiting in line! http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Yes/th4eec30cd.gif
  16. I ordered the 25" Hanns-G Monitor... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254048 $169.99 (free shipping) And the LG Bluetooth Headset: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875984035 $.99 after a $20 rebate (free shipping)
  17. We have an APEX 32" traditional tube flatscreen in the living room and an Olevia 26" widescreen LCD in our master bedroom, and an Advent 13" traditional tube flatscreen in the workout room. All are humming along fine. The Olevia's screen went out within the first 30 days but was replaced without issue. They even cross-shipped the replacement TV (with my credit card as collateral). Not a single issue with the replacement, 3 years later. Do not fear the off-brand!
  18. A touchpad is the alternative to a mouse: http://content.foto.mail.ru/mail/adiar93/_answers/i-9.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trackpad ------------ Some laptops also use a "pointing stick" (in addition to a traditional trackpad): http://www.clickykeyboard.com/2005/trackpoint/14288_classicdome.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointing_stick
  19. Read this from Page 7 and make your decision: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?182530-Official-Black-Friday-NETBOOK-TABLET-Discussion-Thread&p=1778774&viewfull=1#post1778774 It's also going to be ridiculously slow.
  20. I'd like to recommend everyone to stay away from TRENDnet products... I've had three different items of theirs in the past, and all three failed within a month.
  21. I'm looking forward to picking up the Bourne trilogy later this afternoon...
  22. If you don't get one with lifetime maps, plan on map updates cost at $50-60 per update -- it's optional to update of course, but Garmin & TomTom do release new maps about every quarter. If you don't get a unit w/lifetime maps, you should plan on either purchasing new maps or a new unit every two years.... Lifetime maps would futureproof your GPS.
  23. We got those dryer balls as a stocking stuffer from my MIL a few years ago. If the balls sole purpose is to make a clunking noise in the dryer then they're perfect, otherwise we didn't notice them doing anything positive...
  24. Boscov's will be closed this Thanksgiving. The wife of one of my coworkers works for Boscov's. Not sure about the BF ad.
