I found something that supposedly works on the current version of vB (although some people say it's buggy). I don't know if it will work with 3.5, but I'll try it when the time comes. Basically it shows you a list of the smilies and you check a box for your favorites, then when you make a post, there is a link to show your favorites.

Nope :) I'll check to see if something like that is available.

You just missed out on this deal: http://www.gottadeal.com/DirectDeal/11377 I'd check Overstock.com. I know they have a lot of reconditioned models in the $100 range, and they have the $10 off $100 coupon and $1 shipping. I'll see if I can find a new model somewhere for cheap.

Within the next 3-4 weeks we will be upgrading the forum software to vBulletin 3.5. We are going to be adding a few small new features that we think you'll like, but if there is a feature/tool/etc... that you've seen on another forum that you like and think would be useful here, reply to this thread and let us know and we'll see what we can do. If there is anything here that you'd like to see changed somehow, let us know about that as well. There are many hacks/add-ons/plugins available for vB so chances are anything can be done. Also if you want to see new smilies and/or avatars, either post them here or give us suggestions and we'll try to find some if there are any popular requests.

Compactflash for HP Photosmart C30
Brad replied to nineofus's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Pretty much any CompactFlash card, including the one at Newegg, would work with the camera. The only thing I'd be concerned with is that with a camera that old, there may be a maximum card size that it supports. I did a quick search but couldn't find that info if it actually exists. -
They are looking at opening one in SE Wisconsin. http://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/stories/2005/06/06/editorial1.html (might require registration to view the article) "...The latest example is Ikea, the Swedish-based value-oriented home furnishings retailer. For years, southeastern Wisconsin residents have trekked south to visit Ikea's popular store in Schaumburg, Ill. So many Wisconsin residents have made the trip that Ikea's management has taken notice. The retailer has hired a Milwaukee real estate brokerage to find a site in the area for an $80 million, 215,000-square-foot store."

Cables To Go Port Authority 2 Retractable Cable Kit - $6.99 Shipped AR
Brad replied to Brad's topic in Online Hot Deals
There were 2 rebates: $15: http://ak.Buy.com/buy_assets/retail/pdfs/05Q2/0627-0703st_15buyreb.pdf and $10: http://ak.Buy.com/buy_assets/retail/pdfs/05Q2/0620-0831st_10ctg.pdf -
Should've posted yesterday. Buy.com has it for $127.99 + shipping but they had a free shipping coupon that expired last night. It probably would have worked on the case.

Another reason why we are the #1 deal site. Useful and valuable comments like this.

no deal here - just posting a thread to get our charity donation up to an even $180 before midnight ET :) :) :) http://www.gottadeal.com/total.gif

Belkin has had this sale very often. Their MSRP prices are usually so high that by the time you add shipping to the 50%-off price, it's basically what you can get it for at Buy.com, etc... although there are probably still some deals to be had.

That may be true, but keep in mind that we had well over 3,000 people register for the forum last year during BF to read or post on the Black Friday board (which was open to registered members only). If they just wanted the information about that ads, that was on the BF site and didn't require any registration, so that tells us that people like the pre-BF conversation on here as well as the actual ads.

Excellent ideas from everyone. We had been planning on a very fun contest anyway, so we'll see how we can work it to encourage new members to post, while not excluding all of you old timers from participating. As for having them post an "introduce yourself" thread, by the time the BF site opens, we expect to upgrade this forum to vBulletin 3.5 assuming it has gone final by then (they just released the first release candidate (RC) version yesterday). One of the add-ons available for vB is the ability to automatically create a welcome thread (in an "Introductions" subforum or something) for each new user. That could also be an option, although I wonder how many would actually bother to post in those threads unless they are forced to do so before accessing the BF board, which we wouldn't really want to do.
