OK, I have the "unanswered posts" link working on our test board for the new version of the forum (which will be installed in just a few weeks). I have it set to include all the forums except for Daily Deals, since most of those go unanswered and it would make the list a lot longer. I'm working on the other part of your request now.

We posted a deal a few days ago from Buy.com for $61 shipped after $20 rebate. It's now OOS though. There's a good chance they will get more in stock this week, and now there is an additional $10 rebate. Both rebates expire 9/9, so if it comes back in stock, you could possibly get it for $51 shipped after rebates.

If he can, I would strongly advise him to wait. According to many articles, such as this one: http://engadget.com/entry/1234000300057176/ later this month, Apple is going to announce flash-based iPod Mini's which will be smaller, have color screens and be basically around the same price. There should be 4GB, 6GB and 8GB models available. And if he still wants one of the current models, the prices on those should drop like a rock.

deals on xbox systems are pretty rare. buy.com has it for $142.49 after the 5% off coupon that expires today, but shipping is extra and puts it over $150.

Those must be in-store only as they still show $39.99 on the site. OfficeDepot had the 100 packs for $37.99 a few weeks ago. That was a nice deal.

I just added something telling what's included with each version. They could always buy the HD later on if they got the core system, so it's still possible to play the older games either way, but I see your point :)
