  1. In case anyone still needs a GMail invite, I have one to give away. So to make it interesting, starting right now, the first person to post at least 3 legitimate hot deals in either the Online or Offline Hot Deal boards on this forum and then reply to this thread letting us know gets the invite. Previous deals posted do not count. Simple as that. Good luck!
  2. Don't know if you're still looking, but here is one at CompGeeks: http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=09-1722-001
  3. There you have it, lol. The Expert Satellite deal would be best then. You can either pay $49 for the dual-LNB dish, or $69 for the tri-LNB dish if you think you might add HD-capability later on.
  4. New coupon - $1 off a salad: http://www.quiznos.com/salad/index.aspx?NRC=QZ1010&NRX=QZ1014&StoreNumber=0 expires 7/8 I've never had Quizno's before, but they are opening one about 3 minutes away from here next week.
  5. That is a matter of opinion. I can't say as I still have regular analog cable service I'd say check out the two companies' web sites and see which have better programming options. See what the rates are after the introductory specials. See if local channels are available. Also consider equipment. If you need DVRs in every room or HD-receivers, then the Dish deal might be better. If you don't or just want a DirecTV with Tivo in one room, then you might want to go with DirecTV. I'm sure once RossMAN sees this thread he'll be able to comment on the differences. Anyone else care to comment?
  6. Hey mugs, thanks for posting. First off, if you want to do some browsing, here is our camcorder deal page. Some of the deals will still be available, some will have changed or expired. I've heard nothing but good things about the Canon Optura line of camcorders. Looking for the lowest prices, it looks like Buy.com has the best deal with the Optura 20 for $468.99 shipped. You also get a free $25 Ofoto gift certificate, free memory card and free Pinnacle software. If you are a new Buy.com customer (or can make Buy.com think you are :) ), use this $15 off coupon to get it for $453.99 shipped. If you notice, we had a deal on it from Buy.com for $480 shipped just a few days ago, so this is a much better price. You might be able to find a deal on the lesser Optura 10, which has a smaller LCD (2.5" vs 3.5" on the 20) and a lower capacity battery. However I'd still recommend the Optura 20. As a price comparsion, OneCall, who usually has excellent prices and beats everyone else, has the Optura 20 on special through tomorrow for $477 plus shipping. The Buy.com price is lower, and even better if you can use the coupon. So that's my recommendation. If anyone has other thoughts, feel free to post them. Here are some reviews: Customer Reviews at Amazon DVSpot Review
  7. waggy - First, thanks for posting. Now is a great time to sign up for satellite TV service. Both DirecTV and Dish Network have great promotions for new customers. The two that have been most popular are as follows: For DirecTV, we recommend going with Expert Satellite. They offer up to 5 rooms for free and you can also add things like TiVo for $49 extra. They also will give you a free DVD player through 7/17. DirecTV has a special where you only pay $29.99 for their Total Choice with Local Channels for the first 6 months. If you want Dish Network, there was just a great deal announced from VMC Satellite. You receive free installation for up to 4 rooms, FREE digital video recorders in all rooms (record up to 100 hours) and up to two Free HDTV receivers if you choose to receive HD programming from Dish Network. Local channels are also free where available. Either one of these two options are extremely good deals - it just depends on your preference of DirecTV vs. Dish Network. Both deals can be ordered online as well using the links I gave you. If you have any more questions, please let me know.
  8. episodic - Are there any features that you definitely need? Such as a minimum HD size, what kind of CD/DVD drive, wireless networking, etc?
  9. Hello citra - thanks for joining the forums and posting. The best price I can find is at Buy.com for $346.99 shipped with a free $25 Ofoto credit. There is also a new $10 off coupon valid this weekend only so your total price would be only $336.99 shipped plus the Ofoto GC. Even better, if you are a new Buy.com customer (or can make Buy.com think you are a new customer ) you can use this $15 off coupon instead of the $10 one and get the S410 for $331.99 shipped. Either way, it's cheaper than anywhere on Pricegrabber.

  12. Adam - The only discount I know of is going through eBates and they will give you 6% back - so around $2. Of course, you could also go through our affiliate link and help support the site as well :) If anyone else knows of any discounts, please post here and let us know.
  13. What has been the best deal you've take advantage of so far this year???
  14. gaz, check out the deal i just posted: http://computers.gottadeal.com shipping is free to HI as well :)
  15. Patrick, Just so we know what you are looking for, is this the kind of case? http://gottadeal.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=701236
  16. can you give us more of a price range? budget for some can mean $300-400 while for others it can mean $500-600+. would he be interested in a refurbished model? also, does he need a monitor as well? if so, regular CRT or LCD?
  17. it could be because the mobile site is just a simpler HTML version and the phone might only support WAP. i know the site works on pretty much all PDAs and my Sidekick, but the WAP-only phones probably will have problems. i'll have to look into it and see how easy it would be to code a WAP version.
  18. only valid at certain stores - read the fine print: http://ebm.cheetahmail.com/c/tag/tBAwKE1AEcfIPARLHjFABY1$5at/
  19. i think for most people it is a combination, although people are often willing to ignore a retailers reputation if the price is right. rebates also don't matter to many because of the hassle (you wouldn't know about that, would you Ross? )
  20. If there are any retailers or product categories that you would like to see us post more deals for, please reply and list them. We try to cover a lot of areas between the main site and the new "satellite" sites but I'm sure we're missing a lot, so let us know.
  21. OK, new poll - besides actual price, what is the most important factor you consider when you make a purchase online? Feel free to reply and comment on your choice.

  24. What? You mean Ross posts a lot there too? I've never seen him, lol.
  25. I mentioned to RossMAN that this forum should contain a little bit of nostalgia from the "golden days" of online hot deals. I think the other old-timers would get a kick out of some of these things, and all the young kids who weren't around would like to see what they missed, so here is the first installment of some old e-mails I have with some "classic deals". Feel free to share your own thoughts/memories about the deals of days gone by, lol :) First off, the classic cheap DVDs: Site: Bigstar.com QTY ID TITLE UNITPRC TOTAL 1 1076613-2 Austin Powers: International Man o (DVD) 13.99 13.99 Take $10 off any purchase! -10.00 Subtotal $ 3.99 Shiping (USPS) $ 3.93 Total $ 7.92 Site: Reel.com Qty Description Format Price Total ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1 Rushmore New DVD $12.49 $12.49 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subtotal: $12.49 Shipping(USPS): $1.95 Tax: $0.00 Total: $14.44 Coupon #REELDASH: -$10.00 Total Due: $4.44 ... and who could forget the "free" DVDs from Reel.com: Dear Brad Olson Thank you for buying your DVDs at Reel.com.
