  1. That would be my recommendation, unless you need something that the hacked firmware of the regular WRT54G provides. This one is smaller, cheaper and works well from what I've read.
  2. As a comparison, the middle $999 config would be around $1084 by going through the regular Dell.com site and using the current 35% off coupon, so you're saving around $85 with this deal - or getting around a 40% discount (and there was a 40% coupon a few days ago) so it's equivalent to those deals.
  3. and for the extra $200 for the $1199 model you gain: 1.28GB RAM vs 768MB RAM Microsoft Office Basic vs Microsoft Works Office Basic sells for around $150, so it's probably not worth it as you are also only getting 512MB more of RAM. You're better off getting the $999 version, selling the MS Works on eBay and then buying Office and RAM elsewhere if you need it.
  4. Here the maximum-upgraded configs: $849 Celeron 1.4GHz WinXP Home 2 Year Warranty 15" LCD Display 512MB RAM 40GB Hard Drive 8x DVD Burner Dell Wireless 1470 Microsoft Works Suite McAfee Security Center $999 Pentium 1.6GHz WinXP Home 3 Year Warranty 15" LCD Display 786MB RAM 60GB Hard Drive 8x DVD Burner Dell Wireless 1470 Microsoft Works Suite McAfee Security Center $1199 Pentium 1.6GHz WinXP Home 3 Year Warranty 15" LCD Display 1.28GB RAM 60GB Hard Drive 8x DVD Burner Dell Wireless 1470 Microsoft Office Basic McAfee Security Center
  5. Yes the Entertainment books are very good for car rentals. They have pretty much all the major brands and many different coupons, so depending on how long you need it, you almost have to try each one to see what discount it gives you (free day vs. $XX dollars off vs. free upgrade, etc...)
  6. No, but that is a good idea. We'll have to think about it.
  7. Not this one. We have one XXL left and that's it. The next shirt we do we'll be taking advance requests for other sizes so we're sure to order enough for those who want them.
  8. Now Valid! Here is my recommended configuration: Keep the base system ($1327) 8-cell Lithium Ion Additional Battery (65 WHr) [add $129] 2Yr Ltd Warranty, 2Yr At-Home Service, and 2Yr Technical Support [add $60] Total: $1516 - $750 = $766 That gives you an extra year of warranty, plus 2 batteries - the smaller one when you need the smaller size/weight and the larger one when you need extended usage time. 1.7GHz Pentium-M, 60GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive, 256MB RAM, WiFi and more.
  9. 3.5 RC2 was released last week. I'd expect it to go gold in the next 2-3 weeks. We'll probably upgrade over Labor Day weekend assuming it has gone gold by then.
  10. I just tried it and it worked. What model/config are you trying to get? Remember according to the terms it can't be one of their "Outrageous Deals", etc... I went through the link above, clicked Notebooks, "start shopping notebooks" and picked a model
  11. I've never seen any coupons ever for walmart.com - free shipping or otherwise. they usually have pretty good shipping rates regardless.
  12. I think if there is no rush a good idea might be to wait for the new LCDs and DLPs with the 1920x1080 (true 1080p) resolution. There are a few (expensive) models out now - I just posted a deal a few days ago for a cheaper LCD model - but the big brands (Sharp, Toshiba, JVC, Samsung, etc...) should all be bringing out new models in the next 6 months. 1920x1080 is the resolution for the proposed HD-DVD and Blu-Ray standards that are currently fighting things out. So if you are going to spend a good amount of money for an HDTV, you might want to do whatever you can to make sure it'll last as long as you need it to.
  13. I also saw one made by RCA at CircuitCity.com for $75.99 shipped.
  14. In case the canned air doesn't work, here are some more options: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001WV63W (only 1 CD though ) http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=184830 (5CD - just over $100 with shipping)
  15. I found something that supposedly works on the current version of vB (although some people say it's buggy). I don't know if it will work with 3.5, but I'll try it when the time comes. Basically it shows you a list of the smilies and you check a box for your favorites, then when you make a post, there is a link to show your favorites.
  16. Nope :) I'll check to see if something like that is available.
  17. You just missed out on this deal: http://www.gottadeal.com/DirectDeal/11377 I'd check Overstock.com. I know they have a lot of reconditioned models in the $100 range, and they have the $10 off $100 coupon and $1 shipping. I'll see if I can find a new model somewhere for cheap.
  18. Within the next 3-4 weeks we will be upgrading the forum software to vBulletin 3.5. We are going to be adding a few small new features that we think you'll like, but if there is a feature/tool/etc... that you've seen on another forum that you like and think would be useful here, reply to this thread and let us know and we'll see what we can do. If there is anything here that you'd like to see changed somehow, let us know about that as well. There are many hacks/add-ons/plugins available for vB so chances are anything can be done. Also if you want to see new smilies and/or avatars, either post them here or give us suggestions and we'll try to find some if there are any popular requests.
  19. Here is a $1 item you can use for filler: Link So: $174.99 (SD-H400) + $1.00 (filler item) + $1.00 (shipping) - $17.00 (coupon) --------------------- $159.99 shipped Not too bad...
  20. Pretty much any CompactFlash card, including the one at Newegg, would work with the camera. The only thing I'd be concerned with is that with a camera that old, there may be a maximum card size that it supports. I did a quick search but couldn't find that info if it actually exists.
  21. They are looking at opening one in SE Wisconsin. http://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee/stories/2005/06/06/editorial1.html (might require registration to view the article) "...The latest example is Ikea, the Swedish-based value-oriented home furnishings retailer. For years, southeastern Wisconsin residents have trekked south to visit Ikea's popular store in Schaumburg, Ill. So many Wisconsin residents have made the trip that Ikea's management has taken notice. The retailer has hired a Milwaukee real estate brokerage to find a site in the area for an $80 million, 215,000-square-foot store."
  22. You need an antenna (like this one) and either an HDTV with built-in HD (ATSC) tuner or a set-top HDTV tuner (around $200).
  23. But knowing Apple, any iPod Video they come out with would probably be in the $499 range, if not higher - just because they know people will pay for it. Plus the $399 for this is MSRP. I'm thinking once it comes out, you'll be able to get it for more in the $349 range after discounts/coupons.
