LOL. Guess that's why they had no comment earlier yesterday for the CNN.com story. They were too busy trying to spin the story to their advantage, almost as if they wanted the ad to be leaked early.

Some manufacturers have a minimum advertised price (MAP) for certain items and stores can't show the actual final price if it is below that amount, so they show the regular price and savings and let you do the math to get around the rule.

not everything was typed up for several reasons (missed something, prices were MSRP, some things like tires we skipped, etc...). i'll try to add the items that people request, and you can also just include them in the "notes" field of your shopping list as well.

Just wondering what everyone thinks are the best deals in Sears' Black Friday ad? I know a lot of people are happy about the $599 W/D set, but anything else? (also remember for stores like Sears that have their own sub-forum on here, feel free to create new threads about the ad or particular items - you don't have to keep all the discussion in the main thread :) )

nope. this ad was posted elsewhere and sent here shortly after. aaron and i are done typing up all the doorbuster items (which were half the ad) and we'll be adding most of the non-doorbuster items in the next hour or two so you can add them to your shopping lists on the BF site. i swear i remember typing up some of these same items every single year for the last 5 years. sears doesn't change that much, lol.

That's not the stores doing that - the video game companies won't let them advertise systems at less than MSRP. Same with iPods and a few other things.

If you put something in your cart, it's not truly reserved until you complete the purchase. So if there is one thing you really want, buy it first and then go back for another order. If something sells out while it's in your cart, either it will get removed automatically or an error will pop up. Some people have had luck placing items in their carts ahead of time and just waiting for the prices to change, but that doesn't always work for a variety of reasons. And of course, make sure everything is correct in your account - addresses, credit card info, etc...

just a heads up: with the big toy book now being posted on toysrus.com, in the next few days i will be removing those items from the black friday site database and from then on the black friday site will only be listing actual black friday or thanksgiving day sales. doing so will also remove them from your online shopping lists, so if you need the items saved on your list, it would be a good idea to save them somewhere else before they are removed.
