Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2008
Brad replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Just a reminder to report your finds using the standard format. I know some of you don't like to do it for whatever reason, but it really helps others. You don't realize how many messages and e-mails I get from people who appreciate the info in this thread. Thanks :) -
They were supposed to start it today, lol: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=123656 I'll believe it when I see it.

Many details here: http://consumerist.com/5074161/updated-breaking-circuit-city-closing-155-stores Looks like the closed stores may be open on BF, but won't honor the BF ad (or any of CC's ads) and will just be liquidating merchandise. Of course if you are in these areas, you might be able to order CC BF ad items online. Either way, this could be the final BF for CircuitCity.
-
If you get the ad, please contact me and we'll get it posted. I know last year the Macys ad was already posted by this time, so it's likely that it's done - you just have to find it
-
done that already a few weeks ago :)

going in the chat room now. lots of people on the forum tonight, let's have an impromptu chat :)

OK, with 26 days to go until Black Friday I've only given away roughly half of the shirts, but I am quickly running out of unique ideas for contests to run here on the forum, so I'm turning to you... Reply to this thread with at least one idea for a contest that could be done on the forum to give away one or more shirts. Make sure it's something we haven't done already. I'll accept ideas until Tuesday at 11am ET. At that point I'll randomly pick 3 members who submitted one or more ideas in the thread and they will win a t-shirt. And hopefully you will give me some good ideas for ways to give away the rest of the shirts.
-
We have a winner! Congrats Check your PMs in a few minutes for more details. I'll be posting another contest later tonight everyone, so be sure to check for that.
-
OK, another fun contest to see who is the fastest at performing a task. Find items in your home (or wherever you are) that start with the letters G O T T A D E A L. (for example, Grapes, an Olive oil bottle, a Towel, etc.... Grab the items, line them up and take a picture of them all together, in correct order. The first person to do this, post the picture in the thread and type out each item's name in your post wins a BF t-shirt. Good luck!

Just a reminder that with 26 days left until BF LAST YEAR, we had these ads posted: Ace Hardware Harbor Freight Macy's Carter's OshKosh B'Gosh Tommy Hilfiger Outlet Sears Seem familiar? That list is very similar to the ads we have this year with the same number of days remaining. And last year, it wasn't until we were 16-17 days away that we started getting the biggest ads (Target, Kmart, OfficeMax, etc...). So enough with the "why are ads so slow this year?" posts!

As I've said before, one way to win one of our Black Friday @ GottaDeal.com t-shirts is to post deals here on the forum. I've selected five of our deal posters who will each win a shirt: vsa3janes steph3306 magickallight mudechevy iloveblkfriday I'll be doing this again, so if you didn't win yet, keep posting those deals :) Congrats to the winners

What if I have a question that hasn't been answered here?
Brad replied to Brad's topic in Discuss GottaDEAL
It probably means myself or one of the mods either moved, deleted or merged it into another thread. -

Circuit City's stock is at 26 cents... does that mean good bf deals?
Brad replied to BigSlama912's topic in 2008
BF could likely be CC's last gasp. The ads were finalized months ago likely, so the current stock price doesn't mean much as far as the ad contents. Just enjoy their deals this year, because next year, it could mean one less electronics store for good BF deals. We lost CompUSA last year and now CC could be next... -
Not by choice. For example, Dell is having us sign an NDA to learn about their deals early, so you know they have some big things planned
-
some more great deals :) like last week, the better deals will sell out fast, so get your order in soon and don't wait to think about it too much

Cyber Monday was created by the industry to give the online retailers some press with the thinking that a lot of people order online the Monday after BF. But people order online all throughout the next 2 months, so that doesn't really hold true. You have these online retailers that think they are putting out these great deals, when in reality they are comparable to deals offered now. Plus most of the online retailers aren't waiting for Cyber Monday and instead have their best deals on Thanksgiving and Black Friday so they can get your money before you go to the stores. I will say that a few big-name online-only retailers have some big plans for BF/CM. I can't give any more details yet, but there will be some very, very nice deals

Scans: http://www.blackfridayvip.com/scans/GottaDeal-CraftWarehouse.pdf Due to this store having a very limited audience (Oregon, Washington, Idaho), we're not adding it to the actual BF site, but we're posting the PDF here for those who are interested :) http://www.craftwarehouse.com

I wish I could, but you posted them and I was e-mailed and/or PMed that list probably 20 times this week at various times as people saw them on other sites. Nice try though

Many of these items (including some of the doorbusters) are now available to be ordered online: http://www.gottadeal.com/Shop/ToysRUscom Free shipping on select orders $49 or more.

Kmart Starts 'Black Friday' Two Days After Halloween http://adage.com/article?article_id=132162 From the story: So it looks like Kmart just took a bunch of their regular electronics ad items, put them under an "Early Black Friday" banner and expects people to assume Black Friday = Good Deals when I'm guessing they won't be that great...

we will have a listing of the sales on the site, but i dont know about a special forum. If anything we might just post everything in the main online deals forum.
