Brad Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Today we received a letter via certified mail from Walmart's legal representatives stating that the release date for the Walmart Black Friday ad this year is November 23rd. The letter states that we are not allowed to post the ad until that time. Obviously we are once again disappointed with this development. However you may remember Walmart let their ad be posted a little earlier than their stated date last year, so this 11/23 date may not be set in stone. Stay tuned for further updates...
berry1014 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Well that SUCKS! You would think that the way the economy is they would want people to see it early so people would have an incentive to start saving more money to spend on BF. Last year the sales were not that impressive, they were ok hopefully this year it will be better. Thanks Brad!
amberjobryant Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Woohoo when Walmart start sending threats we know it is getting close!!!!
Gporter34 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Well, I wish I could say that I am suprised, but...lol. This has become quite a little habit with WM. Oh, well, that just means that their ad is probably floating around out there somewhere now, or is about to be, so it's getting closer to BF!!!
crazypurgatory Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Woohoo when Walmart start sending threats we know it is getting close!!!!+1 same as always.Ads are coming:)
Klownicle Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 So if they sent the letter out now, does that mean there ad is finalized
Karmarose Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Woohoo when Walmart start sending threats we know it is getting close!!!!Yep, funny that a legal document has me excited.
freesia39 Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Woohoo when Walmart start sending threats we know it is getting close!!!!Tis the season for threatening letters... fa la la la la la la la..
sweetdiggity Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Tis the season for threatening letters... fa la la la la la la la..LOL Getting threatened in September? Ok, whatever Walmart...Chances are, we'll see it before Nov. 23rd whether they like it or not.
wx4svr Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 Wow... WM isn't wasting any time this year.
Brad Posted September 28, 2009 Author Posted September 28, 2009 Wow... WM isn't wasting any time this year.We got last year's letter on 10/2.
arci122 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 We got last year's letter on 10/2.Right on time then, BF is a few days earlier this year! It's ok though, w/ Target possibly opening when WM does, and most are price matching, Target is the place to be:cheesy:
yuyi64 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) If this year's Walmart BF ad is anything like the ones from the last few years, then they can wait until AFTER Black Friday to release it as far as I'm concerned. They really need to funnel some of the money they spend on their legal department on hiring someone in marketing who knows what an exciting Black Friday ad looks like. racerfan Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Oh no!! That was the ad I was waiting on. NOT!!!!!!. I have not gone to Walmart on a Black Friday in over 7 years. Not starting this year either. Lets forget about Walmart and start looking for the ads that count.
Scanner420 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 You're next contest should be "Predict which store's lawyer contacts Brad and threatens legal action if he runs an ad!!"
angelbabymommy Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Im not surprised either! The Monday of BF is still enough time to decide whether I'll go there or not. They better be lucky they PM bcuz I wouldnt be there at all!
krissy72 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 It will be leaked somewhere online. In a torrent site I suppose.
DramaQueenLucy Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Well good ol Wally world does it again
bigjimslade Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 I am not shocked. Lets just move on. One day it will bite them in the ass.
theimage13 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Meh. So Gottadeal won't have it - someone else will. It'd be nice to have it here, but you just have to adapt and move on. Or better yet, just don't support them. Whatever they have on sale, surely someone else will have a similar item for a couple extra dollars.
amy0807 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Walmart loves Brad! It's so nice of them to always remember him during the holiday season. lol
PerkynPunctual Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 Oh, wait. No I'm not. Walmart loves Brad! It's so nice of them to always remember him during the holiday season. lolIt's their warped version of a holiday card!

pogiporkchop Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 You're next contest should be "Predict which store's lawyer contacts Brad and threatens legal action if he runs an ad!!"And everyone will say WalMart
mongoose Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 And this surprises you... why? What is funny is they do these MONTHS before and they already have them camera ready, if not printed by now, so I don't know why they go crazy.
yuyi64 Posted September 29, 2009 Posted September 29, 2009 ITA!!! i did not even bother going it was so terrible.Walmart hasn't had a great BF ad in over five years. I would be very surprised if this years ad breaks that streak!
Miss Star Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Yeah I really don't care when the WM ad comes out, I haven't went there in years and most likely won't be going this year. Kmart is my store of choice along with Meijers and Target.
PentiumMMX Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Just the same ol' situation. Seeing as I usually go to Wal-Mart for these sales anyway (Seeing as it's the only store in my hometown that does a decent BF sale), I don't mind waiting...
