rachealb
This is the first time I noticed, but my Kraft Food & Family magazine was in plastic with an envelope that had a letter saying it would be my last issue if I didnt subscribe for 6.99 per year to continue it? It said it was my final notice but I dont remember getting any other notices that there would be a charge now. I love this magazine, but half of it is full of Kraft ads which was fine as it was free, but it seems like an awful lot of ads to pay to get? Anybody else feel this way? I am stuck in the middle of whether to subscribe or not? (Hopefully this hasnt already been discussed and I just couldnt find it)
becca0884
I noticed that the issue before last had $3.95 on it. I thought that was weird as I always thought it was free. After going online I found out they they are now charging for it. I never received any notification besides the last issue in the plastic with the final notice. I love KF&F, but this last issue did seem to have tons of ads and then I love how they included the recipe for preparing Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Like you couldn't read the side of the box. Anywhoo, I probably will pay for a subscription. I do egt some yummy recipes from it.
Stowasser
I don't recall if mine was in plastic or not, I don't think so but I wouldn't pay for it, its all about their products etc, most of the recipes are probably online though. I thought the idea was to advertise their products and this was the way they picked to do it?
tntsmomie
I just got mine last week and it wasn't in plastic. We LOVE getting this magazine and would definitely subscribe if we had to...HOWEVER, this last issue was rather dissappointing. Not many "good" recipes. I'd rather have a hard copy of the magazine than reading it online. We have years worth of magazines that have been used repeatedly.
doublehsmom
i just got mine the other day and it wasn't in plastic..i LOVE how they have the recipies in them and i also love how they have the 5 meals thing and it list everything that you need to get at the grocery store to have them meals.. I try to do that however i ALWAYS seem to have forgotten something but so far when i did it out of the kraft book i was good to go..I think that i would pay for the magazine but i don't know because i know that you can look at it online however I like having the book infront of me as well. AndreaInNC
I have never gotten that notice before. It is not a mag I would pay for either with the reaons everyone has stated above.
speeddiva
Mine didn't come in plastic either....hmmmm. I just thought that there were less pages than in the past...
dessenma
Mine was in plastic with a bill for $6.99 I think. I will probably subscribe, I do enjoy it.
threelittlecupcakes
Ours came with a bill like that previously - springtime I think and we didn't resubscribe because I wasn't going to pay for it and just the other day a new one came in the mail with no bill. sweetdiggity
I have been getting it - and loving it for free for a few years now, and my most recent issue also came with a bill. I love the magazine and have gotten some awesome recipes that I now make every year, so I will probably subscribe. It's not too much.
cotejb
Mine was in plastic with a bill..Won't subscribe...can go to the website and get the same thing for free.....
Suzy Crampton
Mine didn't come in plastic either. When I get their monthly newsletter emailed to me it has the exact same recipes in it so I wouldn't subscribe to it when that is free!
krstee
I love this magazine - and just recently noticed (as well) at the $3.95/ issue price. I can't recall if I have ever received a bill for this magazine - but I did notice that it seems they come less often now (used to get one every other month to every quarter and now it's probably 2-3x year). I can't bring myself to pay for this, so if they send a bill, I won't renew - although, I thought to get the magazine, all you had to do was subscribe to it online. Has it changed? rachealb
I checked online, and the price to subscribe online is 13 something, so the 6.99 is a special deal you get for already having been the free subscriber I guess. You also get a "free gift" of a kraft food & family cookbook, but not sure if it is a magazine type one or not? I decided to go ahead and subscribe and see if the ads get a little less or not, figured one year for 6.99 I would give it a chance because I do like a lot of the stuff in it, and wanted to see what the cookbook is like. I guess if it is really bad I can tell them to give me my $$ back
AuntJamelle
I've gotten those notices before and just ignored them. The magazines stopped coming for a while, then started again. Go figure! :)

tnewendorp
Mine wasn't in plastic either and didn't have a bill. I do like the magazine though so for $6.99 I would probably subscribe.
AndreaInNC
well my dreaded final issue came yesterday. Although the deal they offered wasn't bad .. 1 year for 6.99 plus a free cookbook. but I can't tell you the last time I actually PAID for a magazine subscription. Lyricsmama
I just subscribed, I love this mag so much, I hate that it's not free anymore but well worth paying for IMO, I'd rather have the magazine than having to go search online.

tntsmomie
My latest issue just arrived in plastic, with a subscription offer. I have no issues subscribing ($6/year for 4 issues). We love these magazines, and with a free cookbook -- we're a happy family!
jenilyn
I have tried to get it mailed to me... just never comes. I know i can read it online, but I really do prefer the actual print magazine. I have tons of cook books and cooking magazines. My kids joke that at some point I'll have spent all my $ on recipes books of one sort or another and wont have any $ for the food itself! I would however not subscribe, not for 4 issues. I get one like that now, and i get others that come more frequently and these are my favs.
