I was driving to Wal Mart near where I live for some Thanksgiving stuff and when I passed near the Best Buy there were 2 tents and the WM there was 3 people in line. It is 11:46pm CST.

I'm sorry but you have to have no life and be bran dead.:yup:

Thats way to extreme.

Sorry don't mean to offend anybody.

And neither store has anything worth waiting that long for.:eek:

The only way I understand people already being in line (and even then, Istill don't GET it) is if you live in a college town or close to one and some of the people weren't going home for the break. I wouldn't do that personally, but...

Delete this post!!!! This is going to get people out there much earlier than last year! I went out last year on wednesday night and was second in line. There is no friggin way i am going out any earlier this year....just a suggestion!

That was my reaction. If I was doing BF at BB this year my plan was 12:01 am Wednesday. This is way too early. WM manager is feeding them at WM. He told me it is good for business.

OMG :eyepoppin :eyepoppin :eyepoppin

Are you going to do any more YouTube videos?

Ha...good for business? I guess I can see that. I can't imagine what people see to actually be there now.

Oh, and marcster...I thank you for the newegg advice. May be buying a couple items from there this weeked.

Actually, this thread is a warning to those folks who think they can just waltz up to the front door of Best Buy, Circuit City, or Wal-Mart at 11:30 pm on Thanksgiving and get some doorbusters.

It ain't gonna happen...

I may. I may go back to BB and WM with a video camera and interview them and post it. One of the people are in line are a regular on this board and freaked out when I told them I was Big Jim Slade and he wanted a picture with me. He said I was his BF hero.

I want to know what in the world they plan on purchasing for them to have gotten in line this early! No item will ever get me to wait more than two days and it would still have to be a HECK of deal for me to get out before 2 AM Friday morning. FRESH turkey, mac and cheese, pumpkin pie and time with my family are more important. That's just me though. :)

If you figure out how much your time is worth and then divide that by the 40+ hours these guys are waiting for. I would say loser. :) I guess you could always pay a homeless person to wait in line for $50.

This is absolutely INSANE:cheesy:! There is nothing at Wal Mart on BF that you can't get now for a couple of hundred dollars more and most analysts expect prices to drop further after BF if sales tank. I have to believe that this is more of a social experiment or Wal Mart PR stunt than people wanting to buy something.

I did that last week, but it was just for fun. i was scaring people with my cardboard sign that said "Black friday or Bust!!! Gottadeal.com cuz I got YOUR deal" sitting out in front of best buy. People were like what are you waiting for, I said Black Friday. You wouldn't believe the laptop deal! I am not going to BB, I am hitting that mall across the street... I want everyone at BB!!!!!!!

See, this is the kind of stuff that aggravates me. Sure, people have the right to camp out for days ahead of time, but this makes it so much harder for the "normal" people to be able to get what they need. When I say normal people, I am referring to those that have families, jobs, responsibilities, etc. that just cannot stand outside of a store for days in advance to get that wish list item for their child or the only way they can afford a computer is to get one of the cheap ones. The people who have no lives camp out for days and days to either get items just to sell or do it just for the publicity. Ridiculous!

I SO wish stores would wise up and institute a minimum amount of time that people can camp out and imho, it shouldnt be any earlier than about midnight on Thanskgiving!

I just laugh when i hear aboutpeople who wait outside for any longer than 4 or so hours. WOuldn't sleeping in a warm bed or spending time with loved ones be better than being outside for days on end?

I recall last Thanksgiving i was driving through NW Indiana to get to my wife's family for turkey and the Lake Effect Snow machine was turned on high. On one section of the interstate, you can see a Best Buy. Well, during the snow storm, i see a MASS of people outside being smothered in snow.

No cheap laptop or TV is worth that if you ask me. But if must be worth it for A LOT of others.

They should institute a lottery. That would quickly end Hooverville outside these stores.

In that interview please find out what they are waiting for and if its a gift or something they plan on e-baying. I really didn't see anything that I would get there that early for.
