zim05
Okay so what kind of vehicle do you use on BF? If you go in a group do you all go together or separate cars? Do you have any stories about driving on BF for example, road rage, parking, traffic jams, accidents, etc... On BF its my mom, sister and I and we take two cars - a Honda Element (lots of room for goodies) and a Chryster 300. We've tried to just park in one lot and go together in a car until we're done but it seemed to be quite a chore to get back to the parked car through all the traffic so we end up driving both around. Since my parents live in the country and my sister and I are already at their place for Thanksgiving we leave from their house for BF. I always enjoy seeing all the cars driving by once we hit the highway at 2-3am knowing exactly where they are all going.
hockeyfanamo
I only have one incident with vehicles on BF. I was in my car warming up BF 2005. A female got into the car next to me and started backing up. She ended up hitting my car on the back panel. Turns out she was 12 and was there with her aunt who was waiting in line. She was only supposed to go get a pair of gloves out of the car. She decided she should move the car closer. It was an expensive BF for her aunt's insurance company! wnc_mom
We (me & my mom) Take her mini van. We take out all the seats in the back to have plenty of room for goodies! And yes we get road rage i wouldn't go to the extreme of anyone getting hurt but im not gonna drive the speed limit and let every1 pass me lol My hubby drives a race car in the "road rage" division it just like how you would drive on the road except your on a track so i get some good tips from him! MeliesMom
We have a tahoe. There are only 2 other people who go with me and let me just tell you, thank goodness I am not the one driving cause I have road rage. lol. I am bad back seat driver too. I am working on my problems though and try and keep my mouth shut and bite my tongue as much as possible. On BF though I am usually talking or excited and not paying that much attention to the traffic and such. Oh, wait I do have a problem when we pull in a parking lot and my boyfriend is driving around trying to find a spot I am always like let me out, let me out just park here and I get aggravated (mainly at my boyfriend) cause I wanna get in the stores, get my stuff and get out and on to the next store. Usually I try and get out at the door. I know it's not my boyfriends fault it is crowded but I hate the driving around for 30 minutes trying to find a parking spot. That's valuable shopping time! Scanner420
Well....the SUV Navigator Limo will be in the shop for maintainence and the driver will be off for the holiday, so I guess we'll just use the Kia.

Mammacash
For the past 4 years, my husband has chauffered me around in his 4-wheel drive truck. He sees the long stream of headlights at 3 a.m. and always comments on the crazy people who go out this early (us being some of them). He drops me off, I stand in line while he sleeps or reads the newspaper. When I'm done I call his cell phone and he drives up and picks me up. And on to the next store. Not sure how we will do it this year. I had my knee replaced and it's not going as well as planned. But I've got a handicap sticker, so no worries there. arci122
A big mini van w/ seats that fold down flat in the back. Plus one to two other vehicles that people are driving so we can hit as many stores as possible.
wx4svr
I always take my Lexus SUV. It's got plenty of room for me, my friends that go with me, and all my junk that I buy. Usually, we have stuff sitting in people's laps. LOL.
MountainMommyO
We take the mini-van and usually make one stop for drop off's between shopping areas. Conveniently our home is right between the 2 best shopping areas! yippee! LOL I've also found out that the evening time is great time to go back and pick up the things that you're not worried about selling out b/c everyone is at home exhausted, its really kinda surreal to go back where it was sooooo crowded 15 hrs before LOL
Spotted1
Last year my sister in law and I went, and we took her truck. This year, its the hubby and me, and I think we're going to borrow my mother in law's van. We have to drop off/pick up the oldest at my sister's on the way to/from the city, and my bonneville's trunk probably won't be enough storage space for everything I get. If we take the van, I can put everything in the back (There's no third row in it. someone took it out, and when they sold it - they never put it back. lol) ... and throw a quilt over it so the short ones will be none the wiser. :)
mrs.winter
I will be taking the Suburban since it has plenty of room! I think this year I will take the 3rd row seating out since there will be 4 of us and that way we will have LOTS of room!! I also love to see all the cars leaving town because i know we will all end up around the same area!
happysunshine28
Several, several years ago we went to nashville and was at bestbuy (after doorbuster times) we were backing out of parking space and here comes a car flying. Yes we hit them, messed up the entire side of their car, no damage to ours. Called police, they didnt even come out, they took all information over the phone and gave us the website to print accident report out for insurance. One of my top pet peeve is cars flying in parking lots, anytime. You never know when a kid who got away from their parent will dart out in front of a car. Mrs. Wall-e
This is the first BF I'll be seriously looking into. The main problem is I never learned to drive and this year the bus system in my area has cut waaaaay back. I can only get to Target, JoAnn Fabrics, and GameStop by six in the morning. Transportation to the other stores won't start until 9 am, too late for BF.
jenirvt
I always drive on BF b/c I'm the one who drags my mom and sister out at 3AM to go shopping with me :) This is the first year I won't have an SUV though. In June I traded mine in for a Dodge Caliber b/c I got a job that's a pretty far drive away from home (60 miles one way), so I wanted good gas mileage. The hatchback trunk is nice though b/c I can pile stuff up, and my seats split 60/40 so I can fold half the back seats down and still have room for a back seat passenger as well. And, since I don't normally shop for items huge in size, I have plenty of room to stack bags. At least, I think I do!!!! I'm horrible with having patience when I drive but I try to restrain myself against honking and swearing ...but really, part of BF is waiting in lines whether it be in the store or in traffic. I usually try to park far out in the parking lots so I don't have to sit and wait to back out, etc. It's worked pretty well in the past. I'm always that one random car way out in the corner of the lot!
mgmckny
Well....the SUV Navigator Limo will be in the shop for maintainence and the driver will be off for the holiday, so I guess we'll just use the Kia.I was thinking of posting that the limo and driver have the holiday off then I saw this. chrissy1979c
My husband goes home to Ohio to visit on Thanksgiving morning so I drop him off at the Airport after we have lunch/brunch at a restaurant, then I head home, research the ads, and make sure his Expedition Eddie Bauer is completely cleared out because there's no way my Mustang Convertable can fit everything I buy. Lusha120
Suburban 2500 with 4 wheel drive. Can you tell i live in snow? There are only two things bigger than me on the road A semi and a US ARMY tank. and If I see a tank on the road driving around, well its over... might as well quit shopping because we are all going to die anyway. LMAO! We park the Suburban (i can fit 7 days of camping gear for 5ppl) third row folded down and drive the beretta arround. It fits into ALL small spaces. Last year I took my friend with me in her escort WITH a handicap sticker.... hey whatever gets me closer to the sales first!

nikkilugi
We take my minivan. It's just me and my mom and so far we have always had plenty of space for our purchases. 2 years ago my tranny went out on my minivan right after we left the drive through at Chick Fil-A (we got the coupon for a free sandwhich, LOL). We managed to get across to Target to shop, LOL. After that we had to call a tow truck to come tow the van home and also my dh to come and pick me and my dd up - my mom stayed with the van. It sucked eggs because that was the end of our shopping that day
Guest HoosierShadow
I live about 3-4 hours from my family, and don't know anyone around here to go with, so I go out by myself. I don't go all out on Black Friday, but I've filled up our Chevy Cavalier and Toyota Camry in the past! This year I'll be driving my Olds Bravada, lots of room for sure! I am trying to sell horse racing/sale photos on ebay and to friends and the more I sell the more excited I get because that is our Christmas $$! I really thought this year I would have almost nothing to spend on BF. So things are looking up! As for car accidents, I honestly can't recall anything more then a few fender benders. No real road rage issues that come to mind. People get impatient, but nothing out of hand. I have to drive about 30 minutes to get to the stores like Toys r Us/Best Buy/Walmart, and it's in a congested area anyway...and by the mall! I avoid the mall at all cost on BF unless there is a deal way too good to pass up. I think the worst time for me was at Toys R Us, last year! It's joined together with Best Buy, and Bed, Bath and Beyond. The parking lot was jammed packed, so I had to park about 5 minutes walk away in another parking lot. It was cold, I had my 1 yr old daughter with me, and we could NOT find a cart! We were cart hunting out in the parking lot, and it took about 15 minutes to get one! The line to pay was out of this world, worse than previous years, probably an hour wait. Basically the line went all the way around the entire store. This year I am taking my daughters stroll with...or without her LOL!!! At least I can cram stuff down in the seat!
