Guest RealLivePrinces Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I did this last year and it was a lot of fun. Been awhile since I've been on this site, but thought I'd give it another chance. :) I've been at Kohl's a number of years and have worked in every department, so I'm pretty familiar with our merchandise and policies. I'd be happy to help with any questions.
mommy2twingles Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Can I hold merchandise for a day? If I go to the store Wednesday night will they hold something until Friday?
Guest RealLivePrinces Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Yes. Our policy is a one-day hold (and we're closed Thanksgiving, of course!) and at my store, we allowed people to reserve items already on the floor (no limited doorbusters or anything which are wheeled out Friday). However, you will still have to wait in the normal line. Customer Service will not ring up purchases on Black Friday to be fair to everyone.
shopping mom Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 If you hold something were do you go to pick it up? Kohls has become one of my favorite places to shop but I had never thought about putting something on hold on Wednesday and picking it up on Friday.
Guest RealLivePrinces Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 If it's just shoes, they hold boxes back in the shoe department. If it's fine jewelry or Beauty, head to Jewelry. Beauty associates will place their customers in the Jewelry line, and fine jewelry hold folks are welcome to take a number and also check out in Jewelry. (But be warned, some jewelry counters will not ring up cartfuls of other stuff in addition. At my store, it's 5 nonjewelry items or less). Otherwise, clothes/housewares/etc etc holds are in customer service.

queenofshopping Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Ooh, me! I know they're not *supposed* to, but last year, at some point, Kohl's had Hallmark boxed cards & ornaments on sale (though possibly at different times). Any idea if this may happen again this year? Also, doesn't Kohl's usually have a 50% off day (a Wednesday?) sometime in November? Bah, I've forgotten all the details from years past! Thanks for offering your help!
Guest RealLivePrinces Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 We just had one, actually. Generally, keep an eye out for big sales on Wednesdays and weekends. I'm not sure on Hallmark, but sometimes they have a vendor-authorized buy three get the fourth free. Of course, you can use Kohl's charge coupons on those anytime. The only time I remember seeing Hallmark ornaments on sale last year was post-Christmas.
mstamper Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I have a question about Kohl's Cash. I spent like $130 a few weeks ago and got $20 in Kohl's Cash. I have already spent the Kohls Cash, but I want to return like $45 of the $130. Will Kohl's let me do this because of the Kohl's cash? THANKS AND GOD BLESS!!!
mrn8 Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I don't work for Kohl's, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to take a Merchandise Return Credit (in-store credit) for and purchase that gets you Kohl's Cash.
Guest RealLivePrinces Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 The Kohl's Cash amount affected by your return will be deducted from your refund. Sometimes, the computer will allow you to hang on to the full return amount by taking your refund in the form of a kohl's instore credit instead of on your original tender. If that's an option, the associate will let you know. (It's not always an option).

Guest RealLivePrinces Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Hmmmm... email Kohls.com customer service. I doubt they'd take away your Kohl's cash for something that the company did, unless it was a transaction issue.
swamperjmb Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I also work at Kohl's, and we will be opening at 4am this year!!
delphernina Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I also work at Kohl's, and we will be opening at 4am this year!! I see you're from Missouri.... hopefully you're at a local Kohl's. That would be awesome if I could get in Kohl's at 4.
stacya Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I also work at Kohl's, and we will be opening at 4am this year!! Is that nationwide? THAT would be awesome! Kohl's is where I've been waiting for the doors to open for the past two years in a row now, so if that means I can get in there and then go wait somewhere else, that's SUPER!
swamperjmb Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I work at the kohl's in Belton. I am assuming that all of the kohl's will be opening at 4. We are competing with JCPenneys who is opening at 4 also.
Guest RealLivePrinces Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Yes, it is nationwide. Originally it was 5am. Thanks, JCPenney.
Bunniq Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Yes, it is nationwide. Originally it was 5am. Thanks, JCPenney. Oh wow! This puts a new spin on my plans! I can't wait to find out what time our local store will open.
conj Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Do you still love me? (ok, I have no kohls questions, but I felt so left out...)
stacya Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Thanks so much! I will be calling my sister ASAP to let her know we will be going out an hour earlier!
amos311 Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Ohhh! 4 AM! My SIL and I were just talking about Kohl's tonight. 4AM would be great, in, out, and across the street to wait for Target to open. :)
queenofshopping Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 4?! I honestly can't decide whether this is great or awful...
aerosmithgirl Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 OH MY!! It is getting earlier every year. I have never been to Kohl's on BF, but some friends do and say the deals are awesome!! I may need to venture there this year. By the way, I have a question. Can you get the ad for us?? Kidding of course, but I am waiting for this one.

shopping mom Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I think its great they are opening early, I just need to see an ad now.
debwestmi Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I just ordered a bunch of items online yesterday. They told me the Shipping date would be 3-4 weeks out. No place I shop with is taking that long. Do you know if those dates are accurate? I tried calling but of course cant get through. If thats the case I will be canceling my order and they will find me shopping elsewhere:(
