pickinp Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 What movies and CD's do you think will be on sale on BF? Last year I got Ice Age 2 for something like 3.99 - I think there was a misprint in the Sears ad, and I pm'd it at WM. I am hoping for some cheap Hannah Montana, and maybe movies like Transformers and Harry Potter 5.

When it comes to DVDs and CDs it all depends on what deals were made with the studios and what they have in stock. I doubt Transformers will be on deep discount. Welcome to the community!!
i.feature Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 From recent years it appears to be big hits that are a few (2-3) years old. The same goes with tv series.
inkpay33 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I remember there were a ton of holiday movies on sale as well as some regular movies and TV box sets.
jaymacfla Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Boxed sets were price matched at walmart, so save those ads!
cherry33778 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I hope they have more boxed sets on sale this year than last. I would love to buy Will & Grace or complete my Charmed collection.
Brad Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 with HD-DVD and Blu-Ray around more, there will probably be a lot of deals on older DVDs as stores look to clear out titles they have a lot of.
mesarobins Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I have an 11 yo so I am hoping for maybe a deal on High School Musical 2. My kids always get a few new DVD's for Christmas.

AndreaInNC Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 TV Box sets are usually a given for BF. I am hoping to start my DD16 Charmed collection. I know I picked up My Name Is Earl and The Office last year on BF for less than $10.00 each. I know I normally get Family Guy, Simpsons, and Smallville sets each BF. I know I pm'd almost all of those sets at Walmart last year except for Target. Target didn't open until much later (I want to say 6am) and I couldn't get the PM cause it wasn't that late. I think I was checking out of Walmart at like 5:45am. The great thing about Target is most of their DVD/CDs they run on special for BF weekend - they really don't have doorbusters like the other stores - is that they most of the time give you a raincheck if they run out. I know I got rainchecks for some GBA games last year. You also have to look at what is being put out right before BF. The last POC movie isn't coming out until early December, so I doubt the newest Harry Potter will be out by Turkey Day. If you really want Transformers (my kids do) get it the week it comes out and put it away. Most stores will have it on sale for the first week. If it comes out cheaper on BF, then most stores will let you return stuff within 90 days of purchase, so you can just return the one you bought when it was released. That's what I plan on. Oh the scheming and planning begins already!!!! I can't wait for more!
nedsw33 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Last year BF06, Target had Harry Potter 1 thru 4 on sale for $4.99. 1 thru 3 were the 2-disc special edition and 4 was the single disc version. So, if anything, somewhere MIGHT have the single disc version on sale. I would imagine it'd be around $10 though, since it'll be that much newer to shelves.
AndreaInNC Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Release date for Harry Potter 5, 12/11/07.
AndreaInNC Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Release date for HSM2 is also 12/11/07.
Gumball Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Disney is releasing the original Jungle Book movie on DVD on October 2nd. My DD & I can't wait for that one, I remember it from when I was a kid.
mcapel4444 Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I cleaned up on movies last year. I think we ended up with 17 or 18 new ones. lol Alot were from Target. Although Circuit City had some great deals too.

kbasketcr8r Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I got seasons 1-5 at Target on BF for 16.00 each...I could have made a killing on Fleabay, but I just couldn't part with them....lol
christib327 Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Do you think there's any chance of getting a good buy on House Season 2 on BF since season 3 is out now? I want to get that, but can't decide about waiting :)
Gurnee Al Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Hollywood video had a bunch of pre-viewed movies for 99 cents last year, and the sale was on Thanksgiving day. I hope it's back this year. Between Hollywood Video, BB and Target, I bought a bunch of movies.
