jarerice Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I wanted to let everyone know that we bought this last year and about a month ago the color started going out. Maybe we just got a bad one! If not, save your money! It's not worth it!

amyers12345 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 ours is fine.. and overused. We bought one about 5 years ago, and sold it at a yard sale this year for $40, in perfect condition.
provresgrp Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 We grabbed two & their still working fine.
Christy Garner Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 my son (7) got one and his is still working fine too.
guilliam Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 We bought 2 pf them 2 years ago and they both still work fine.

jadedmomof2 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 We got a BF tv about 4 years ago, and while I did recently give it away(bought an HD capable tv) it still worked fine.
jarerice Posted September 24, 2007 Author Posted September 24, 2007 I guess we just got a bad one out of the bunch! thats our luck!
jellybean051901 Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I guess we just got a bad one out of the bunch! thats our luck! That is what usually happens to me:(
nedsw33 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Hopefully they'll have something bigger this year for a comparable price...
krstee Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Well, the 20" TV I bought 7 years ago on BF just went out. It might have been the TV, or the terrible thunderstorm that rolled through the area. Funny how only that TV and our cordless phones were affected. No other electronic item(s) were damaged. Hmmmm....
krstee Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 One other thing - I was just looking through the .pdf file ad from Walmart last year, and I was comparing the LCD tvs. Today's ad had a Vizio 32" LCD HDTV for $597 - last BF, same (type) of TV was $598. I don't think they were the same brand though. Also, the Vizio 42" LCD HDTV in today's ad is $946, and on BF, the advertised 42" LCD TV was $988. I wonder if technology has just improved THAT much in less than a year, or if Vizio is a piece of cr@p.
AndreaInNC Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I guess we just got a bad one out of the bunch! thats our luck!Is it still under warranty or if you paid by credit card, that might have extended the warranty period. Might be worth looking into. If you have the receipt, you might even try and returning it to Walmart.

They're calling them "Throw-Away TV'S" The reason is cause they're so new, that they don't have the parts to replace on them. They recommend not buying them at all, or if you do, purchase an extended warranty, after you've read all the fine print.

We have not had any problems with them. I realize they are not top of the line but HDTV looks great on them. Absolutely great bang for the buck!
mamapenguin Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Vizio is one of the top selling brands. Do your research. If you want to pay too much for a tv because you have not done your homework go right ahead. I got mine at Costco & they extend the warranty to 2 years at no extra charge. Vizio is sold at Costco, probably Sams, Walmart, KMart, Circuit City & Sears.
yankeegirl6 Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 My mother and I both bought one last year. Mine is fine. Hers the color starting going out after only a few months.
mcwalker Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 If any electronic item is going bad in less than a year, check your manufacturers or store warranty. Sometimes they aren't worth the trouble, but sometimes you can get some relief. Also, if you bought an item with AmEx or some other credit cards, they sometimes offer a warranty extension. For anyone about to buy any electronic item (and many other items). 1. Keep your warranties in a file, 2. Keep your receipts for the duration of the warranty (plus any credit card extensions) in the same file, 3. check your credit cards to determine which include automatic extension of warranties and consider using those cards for purchases.
xbstfrnd Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 My husband bought one last year for his man cave. He hasn't had any problems w/it.
ilalynch Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 OOOHHHH...so hoping they have a good TV deal this year!
xbstfrnd Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I hope so. My kids have tiny 13in. in their rooms. They want larger ones this year.
cassgurlie04 Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 was this the flat screen 20"??? if so my brother got one and its still just fine
ilalynch Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I don't think they are going to have any cheap tv's this year. I wanted that $68 but don't see any in any of the posted ads!!
cireafan Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 It's because the ATSC digital tuner part is very expensive.

Maybe we just got a bad one! If not, save your money! It's not worth it!What brand was it? You should still be under Parts warranty. Labor warranty is only 90 days, but parts is a year. usually 2 years on the picture tube.
