I need your help. On Thanksgiving, we invite my side and his side of the family over for Thanksgiving all at once to make it easier on us. Everyone brings a dish or two, we stand around talk, we eat, watch football, and we all participate in a family game, and the day is a blast.

I usually have a game that all can play. Last year for example we played "Deal or No Deal" on DVD. I usually have goodie bags filled with candy, pencils, $1 or $2 items that anyone can use. Everyone that plays usually pitches in a $1 for the overall winner. However, I don't know what game to play this year. I have been looking at the stores since last year and nothing is catching my attention. Any suggestions? Thank you

The youngest person to play is 13 and everyone else

Once at a family gathering we did a scavenger hunt...gave everyone a time limit and there was about 50 items on the list some easy to come across others more difficult but none the less fun and challenging. Some of the items were found outside, so if the weather co-operates you get them out and moving around... and from my experience after eating that great big meal moving around is a good thing..;) Good Luck!

I like that idea Yakyma.

I have a very large extended family, and normally we have several different board games going on at the same time. It would be wonderful to split into teams and have a scavenger hunt.

We play Bingo. The kids are younger though and they love it!!

Mad Gab (I think thats the name) would be a blast also! My cousin has it and refuses to play with me cause I am good at it. LOL

Thats a good idea. The only games that we play are baseball or football because of all of the little ones. I going to bring this idea up once we have all of the details of the dinner worked out.

thanks

Tripoly is another good one that a variety of ages can play. You can either play for chips or have everyone use pennies. You can also leave the game and come back, without really affecting play.

Shout at the Movies/Tv etc are always fun too.

Lol, we play it all the time. I even make some to give to people at the holidays every year. My aunt got us into it years ago.

We play Apples to Apples and Fact or Crap and Mexican Train. The kids and old people playing A to A at the same time is too funny. We also have farkle, phase 10, and rumikub. Its a numbers game.... great for kids who need practice on problem solving.
