countingcrow Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Guess I'll be getting a new monitor from Best Buy this year, good deal on them.
senpai Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 UPDATED... I made a spreadsheet for myself and I'm still unsure of which I want - I'd like to get (2) 22" http://www.4shared.com/file/28891223/d174ab40/_2__BF_lcd.html LINKS for people w/o Excel: Samsunghttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001240&Tpk=2220wm <img src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c95/b_senpai/untitled_cr.jpg"></a>
Soliex Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Thanks for making that! really helped Im going to TRY and get the Samsung 22inch from BB, I plan to get in like at 5-6PM T-day. Im also wondering, anyone know if they would allow you to purchase 2 items? Im also considering getting 2 of the 19inch Envision's for roughly the same price.

Two-day sale items you can buy as many as you can grab. Depending on where you live, 5-6 pm might be too late.
slinkster65 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Is there a huge difference in those contrast ratios? I am only looking at the 22" that BB and target have. If there is a huge difference b/t a 1000:1 and a 700:1... I only ask because I know I can get to Target and get one whereas the BB closest to me always has a long line starting at noon-ish of Thanksgiving.
Soliex Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Marcster, im near king of prussia, PA which I assume is close to you because you list Southeastern PA, what time do you suggest waiting in line to tag at least 1 of bestbuy's monitor deals?
mysticmage Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 What time would I need to be @ Target at to get the Westinghouse 22" LCD Widescreen Monitor? I live in Pittsburgh by the way.
nirvana4all Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Just looking at the specs, 24" buy OM, 22" buy CC. As I said just looking at that spec/price layout by senpai.
chimeralife Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 At out BB last year the 22" Westy wasn't a ticket item so first in grabbed what they wanted. I do believe someone else posted last year that it was a ticket item in their BB. If it is a ticket item it is one per person. Got anyone you can bribe to stay with you? I dragged DD so I could get laptops for our daughters.
jme621 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 I have a 22 envision and have had no problems with it and it has a very nice picture. mine has dvi also on it though, not sure if they one they have on bf does since it not listed on that chart up above. just my 2cents
scarface Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 I need one of these monitors for myself since i have a chatroom burnt fadely into my 19'' dell lcd. I was at target and looked at the westing, wasn't plugged in but noticed you couldn't adjust it. The samsung at bb must be a very old model because hardly anything comes up on google on that model, only the 225bw and 226bw, this is the 220wm.

amickeyfan Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 I just got a 20 inch wide screen (I know you guys wanted BIGGER) but it's a Samsung and got it in Costco just today (well yesterday) for only $179. I could not wait for the BF deals. My monitor went black and would not work last week!
nirvana4all Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 The 20/21 widescreens from samsung are good, got my 20/21" widescreen last BF for that price, and it still serves me awesome.

amickeyfan Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 The 20/21 widescreens from samsung are good, got my 20/21" widescreen last BF for that price, and it still serves me awesome.I had a 17" Acer that was just over a year old and it died! Flickered on and off for a few days then went black on me. I paid just as much for my Acer as I did Samsung I think Samsung is a better product. With my family always on the computer, the screen is always on and I know they have a "shelf life". I think my life was cut too short but out of warranty With Samsung, I have a two year and thru Costco, I bring it back to them!
heatherbade Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Last year I got a 17 flat screen for $79 at BB doorbuster.
nothvice Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Hello. I am looking to buy a 24" monitor on BF and need to know which brand is better; Acer or Samsung. I heard that Staples will be offering an Acer 24" for $379, but am not sure. CC has a Samsung 24" for $329 after rebate. Here is the one Staples is supposedly offering: http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?storeId=10001&jspStoreDir=Staples&productId=196936&cmSearchKeyword=acer+24%22&fromUrl=home&cmArea=SEARCH&catalogId=10051&langId=-1 Now, which brand is better to get, Acer or Samsung? Thanks
nirvana4all Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 So far you have a few opinions above. I cant speak to these particular models, but as stated above I have a good history w/ samsung's large widescreen monitors. That being said, since you are not in my town I will give you the heads up that there will be a much smaller line at staples (i.e. greater chance to get what you want), so if there is nothing that you really have to have at CC, that would be the dealbreaker for me.
Krank Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 My daughter nicked up my 17" LCD a bit. Still useable of course, but it looks like hairs on on the screen. Anyhow, I was trying to decide between the Target Westinghouse 22" for $167 or the Best Buy Samsung 22" for $199. I imagine longer lines at BB and don't look forward to the wait. Saw that 22" Envision $149 too, but it has no DVI, which is a bummer. No Circuit City here and I'm not too fond of rebates. What do you all think? Krank
scarface Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I'm wondering if these are going to be available online(samsung or westinghouse). They aren't doorbusters so i figure they would be.
macman4 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I just went to Target and bought the Westinghouse 22". Paid full price $278, but will return Friday or Saturday and get my price adjusted, $167 . This was at about 3:00 PM Wednesday and they were puting out all the big items in the isles. I did the same thing, last year, for the 18" Westinghouse. Good luck to all of you on this great holiday "Black Friday"
andreabeth Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Okay, got a question, they will do the price change thing on items that are not doorbusters? I am looking for a flat panel for a gift and am wondering which I will most likely find... Target or Walmart.... BB looks too chaotic for me and isnt' near other stores I want to hit. andrea

Soliex Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Well, the Best buy monitors are on their website right now. the 19inch is sold out but the 22inch Envision and Samsung are still available. I was going to wait in line to get them but I cant afford to buy anything for anyone now, my car just got jacked up yesterday and I have tough times ahead of me

Even though it was showing up on their website on Wednesday, they said they would not be able to give me the sale price yet. They said to bring in the receipt for up to 14 days after the sale and they will credit me the difference. They had an end cap of probably 50 of them at the Buffalo, NY location

pearls Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I read that Samsung monitors have a lot of back light bleeding. Also be careful of the place you buy if from because if the monitor has dead pixes some places won't take it back unless it's a certain number.
smileyjj Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 My son has the 19" acer monitor for his computer and he loves it!(3rd yr college). He's never had any problem with it and his screen is crystal, sharp images... He also likes to play online games when he's on school breaks and says the response time and images are awesome. I bought the 22" acer for 169.00 after rebate for my husband for his birthday for next week. Will see how this one is. (bought at city) Hope this helps.....
