The extra RAM and storage space is nice, though the V series processor is a weak single core chip like the Celeron. A pretty good deal if you ask me, Wal-Mart just got owned.

Did not get it in the Saturday newspaper here (we get the Sunday ads on Saturday). I did see several ads on TV for it, however.

There are a lot of exclusions which is lame... laptops, netbooks, iPods, game systems, and some tv's and major appliances.

Netbooks and laptops are definitely 2 different things in the Best Buy world. There is no chance unless the ad specifically said laptops and netbooks, which it did not. If I hear different, I'll let you know, but I'm positive this deal is for their $700 to $829 Samsung laptops that are carried in-store.

The emachines in the ad is just a Gateway with a different label slapped on it. It looks identical to the Gateway NV series, which are highly rated because of their good performance at a low price. At this price, you can't lose and if you are worried about it breaking on you after the warranty expires, get a service plan at the time of purchase, Wal-Mart definitely will have extended service plans available and you will still get an excellent deal on a computer. Typically laptops quit working due to accidental handling, not because of the parts under the hood.

Just because someone will ask, the Magnavox Wifi Blu-Ray player does indeed do Netflix. Wal-Mart owns Vudu, so they are only advertising the Vudu and Facebook/Picasa apps.

This ad is insane, Wal-Mart definitely isn't planning on making a dime on Black Friday again this year. Wow, what an ad!

I don't personally own it, but have researched and played with it at Best Buy many times. Personally I think Google TV is definitely a vision of the future of television and Internet merging together, but there is a lot of room for growth. It is obvious Google TV was rushed for the holidays, the UI is still a bit bland, the browser isn't very optimized for viewing on a television, and there are still very few apps out there and no network TV support. When Google opens the source and allows developers to get in and build their own Google TV apps, I think Google TV will become as big as Android for cell phones. If you have Dish or Directv, I think that makes the Google TV more valuable, but for people like me without cable or satellite, the box is somewhat useless at this point until I can get more content the legal way. Google is great at updating their software, so I expect some big update early next year.

It's fast enough to do one thing at once, but don't even try to multitask and run too many programs at once. It can easily handle web surfing and facebook. I know people who can play WoW on a netbook, so it can handle basic games and WoW, but not any modern graphical games.

If you have to have Blu-Ray it is an ok deal, but this week Best Buy has a similar specced machine without the Blu from Toshiba for $449. The Toshiba uses the newer and faster i3 processor. The Sony is using the older Pentium DC, so efficiency will be a concern (battery life and heat). Again, if you want a portable blu-ray player get it, otherwise look for better deal with similar specs. The Ogio bag is nice, however, so maybe if you want the full package it may be worth it.

i want to say it uses the newer 125 series of ink for the NX series.

Just to remind everyone, Best Buy had a lot of early Black Friday deals last year that were the same price or better then the BF ad that came out like a week ahead of time. They had a "Black Friday NOW" ad. This won't be everything they got, I can assure you, especially for computers and tv's.

I like: $60 Toshiba Blu-Ray player Compaq Netbook, although battery life is weak Nook doorbuster deal Video Game system packages Samsung Laptop Sale Major Appliance deals 1 Penny Fascinate or Incredible Don't like: All other laptop deals suck No generic TV's for cheap besides 24" Overall good ad, but surely some Dynex or Insignia TV's will match or beat Wal-Mart and Target's ad, right? Laptop deals are atrocious.

These are some pretty lame deals, Best Buy already has an HP laptop for $399, and the only difference wit this one is a slight bump in processor speed. Other deals were nothing special as well, Insignia camera, noooo thank you.

The store in my area has already received many of the BF items, some came in shippers, and some products are arriving with green stickers which indicates they are a BF item.

Looking at the netbooks specs ,that is a damn good deal.

I like the HP laptop on the front page, the same laptop is $399 at Best Buy right now, so that seems to be a very good deal, most stores price their similar specced models around $429 to $479. I'm very curious about the netbook, if it has the Atom 450 processor, I'm sold on it, but if it is the 270, I'll pass.

The Sony S370 which is in a couple different ads including Target for $99 is a very good buy. It has a bunch of Internet apps, and is probably the best designed Blu-Ray player in this price range to get the best video and sound quality possible with quick startup times. Of course, don't be surprised to see some of the other brands try to push the $99 window, I bet a $79 web enabled model from another brand will popup sometime during the holidays.

It seems to me most of the people not impressed with the ad just didn't see one of the few items on their list in it. Some people are very picky about what they look for in these ads, it is the same story every year. I wish people who said not impressed would give their reasons why, but looking at the ad myself, I see some very good deals on electronics, but possibly lacking on the toy side. However, I think the strategy with toys this year is the stores know they are gonna be on the list, so why give them away at black friday prices, when the retailers know we are going to be in to buy them regardless if it is on little Timmy and Sue's list.

Does Target even sell any TV's larger than 46"? I'd wait for the Best Buy and Wal-Mart ads for larger TV's. The 40" Westinghouse on the front page is a mighty good deal. I just bought a Panasonic 42" last Summer so I'm not in the market, but I'll be showing off that deal to everyone, under $300 for a 40" 1080p TV is unbeatable.

Sony makes the best Blu-Ray players, so it is a very good deal. I'm going to pick one up myself. I need one that does Netflix as my old Sony Blu-Ray does not, and I have no video game systems, so this is a great deal for me.

Very cool, that's a very tempting half hour trip to the Williamsburg location, and would definitely be worth it for some new clothes for myself.

For the price, the laptop is a very good deal for a basic model, I assume it has 2GB RAM and 250GB HDD. Normally a model like this is priced from $349 to $379 for a comparable Compaq or Toshiba model. It is manufactured by Gateway, as the design looks just like any of the NV series.

It's a great deal. The Panasonic plasmas give a fantastic picture, it will be perfect for high def movies and gaming! The home theater system is very nice as well, Panasonic actually makes a good home theater in a box, though the extra 2 speakers are pretty worthless.
