supershopper1 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Too much. I think my kids may still owe me money for the things I picked up for them last year!!
hnybee411 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I do almost all of my christmas shopping on that day but manage to stay around $500. It just depends how much cash I can get my hands on as I refuse to use anything but cash that day. I may have to work this year though which will totally stink. I'll be dog tired by the time I get off since I'll have to go shopping before my shift starts.
shopping mom Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I did most of my shopping on BF last year so I spent over $500 I am sure. I have Christmas Club this year too so I should have around $900 to spend It sounds like a lot but I have 6 kids 2 sets of inlaws, my parents, nieces and nephews. If I can add more I will otherwise I have to stick to the budget (until BF I am going to try to scrimp and buy some stuff so I can do a little more, I really want to get dd 19 the acoustic guitar she wants)
chellyd Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 We usually spend about $300 - 500. It really depends on what's out there. Thanks to gottadeal.com Black Friday section, we found stuff we never would have known about. I love this site!
cleverbffool Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I really don't have a huge list so I would say c. $700.00 I don't shop BF just for Christmas but for anything that catches my eye.
bayhaysay Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I'd have to search the '06 BF archives here to remember exactly what I spent last year but I'm pretty sure it was under $500. This year I may end up buying a couple of big ticket items so it may be more like $1000.
jarerice Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 around 700.00, but thats most of my shopping
Christy Garner Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I have a christmas club account too and should have around 900 in it so I hope to keep my spending within budget. Just figured out last years amount and I would say altogether just for the kids about 1000.
mystikal1 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 We spent about $2500 last year but I did get the 32" LCD Westinghouse from Best Buy $479 as my new computer monitor. Thinking of going to 37" or 42" this year:D .(hopefully DW will let me)
kc4braves Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 We only have a budget for the kids of about $500-$600 all total and we don't usually find everything on BF. This year we are looking for more electronics type gifts so may spend more this year. I'm also hoping for a lap top for me. So we may end up spenidng the $600 that day...just not all for them. We also like to look at things we NEED that go on sale that time of year like small kitchen apppliances, etc.
berry1014 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 It varies each year, depending in what I need to get and what is on sale but the average is around $250. Sometimes less , sometimes more.
stationchief Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 It varies each year. All depends how much I can save, when I can start saving, and how much in Best Buy Bucks (McD's Monopoly Game pieces I send for) I can get this year.
Deviant5ouL Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 The Sale Price that I got my items for was all-in-all worth: $5293.59The Actual Price that my items retailed for at that time was all-in-all worth: $9534.79 That means for Black Friday 2006, for items that I would've bought throughout the year anyway, I had a Grand Total Savings of: $4241.20
Tangogirl Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Last year I spent $2000 (I bought Gateway laptop and Olympus dSLR). This year, depending on whether or not I buy a tv that day, $1000 to $1500.
Deviant5ouL Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 thats alot of money...True... but then again, that's a lot of savings too. I wanted to reiterrate that items bought were ones that I would've bought throughout the year anyway... I just bought them sooner. Nothing beats instant gratification with a savings like that!
msdarkness Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Last year I spent around 400 I only use cash and I leave my credit cards and checkbook at home so I dont go over my budget this year I plan on spending the same if not a little more
zoemariesmamma Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 i get to spend tons of money because i do my shopping and both of my sisters usually too!! l love having a van full of great deals! even if they are not all mine!
carolannec Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Last year was my first year and I spent between $600 and $700. No big ticket items either.
neice0510 Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Last year I spent around 600-800 dollars. This year will be the first time I won't be able to buy big items so I guess I won't be spending that much unless it's small. (We'll be in Kansas for thanksgiving for the first time in 10 years. We're driving so with three kids it'll be hard to hide any big presents.)
Spotted1 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Last year I spent about $100. Not sure how much I'll spend this year, really just depends on what's to be had.
Yakyma Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Most of my shopping is done on that day, I average around a 1000.00, some years it has been less and others more just depends on the sales and what is being bought.
hockeyfanamo Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I shop through out the year so BF is for the final touch items. 2004....$150 2005....$900 (laptop, night vision) 2006....$150 2007....$150-200
wx4svr Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 For me... how ever much it takes! Credit companies love me!
Princess7915 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Last year was probably about 200 but I didnt get that much shopping done. Really disappointed in the deals. If I can get 60 % of my chrismas shopping done on BF I am a happy camper!! I never really have a $$ in mind, it just takes what it takes to get it done with out going overboard. The better the sales, the happier I am and DH as well!!
angelbabymommy Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I go all out on Black Friday and evey year and I spend more than I did the previous year. Last year, I spent a little over $450. This year tho, my dd is in to Hannah Montana (what little girl isnt) so I think I'll spend at the minimum $600.
jellybean051901 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I figure this year will be around $1500 because I am looking to get DH a LCD TV. I am also hoping to have the majority of my shopping done so my budget may be less
ohitsunshine Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I dont get any big items that day. I dont want to stress about getting that one big thing- I have more fun getting a lot of the littler things so I would say $500 or so...I am shopping for 3 kids and extended family.
stacy0479 Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I got a $400 Thanksgiving bonus from work last year, that is what I spent on BF. No big ticket items. The year before, I think I spent about $500, again, nothing big but a GB Advance. This year DS wanted the Nintendo DS and grandma bought it for him over the summer, so I lucked out this BF! I should spend about $500-$600 on BF this year.
