MarkRaby
We appropriately put our Christmas tree up on Black Friday (in the evening). We keep some gifts hidden until Christmas Eve/Day, but most get put under the tree as soon as they're wrapped (which is usually the same day they're bought). In any event, we have about 60 presents "under" our tree at the moment (of course only a handful can actually fit under it -- the rest get put to the side or in the general vicinity). I'm guessing there will be something like 75 presents awaiting everyone when Christmas finally rolls around. We're a family of 5, by the way. --Mark--

elena_398
Only the presents to My husband and myself are under the tree (from each other and from the kids). The kids do not get to see any presents till christmas morning. I finished wrapping everything last night and yet again I overbought. My husband expects it though. I didn't count presents, but the heavy duty huge contractor bags is what I use to store presents. Needless to say My son filled up 1 1/2 and so did my daughter. I still have to buy for my baby, LOL, my dog Abby. She usually gets a new collar every year, stocking w/ goodies, and a huge bone. So funny seeing her eyes christmas morning looking at that 2 ft bone. Shes a yellow lab so she can handle it!

brynnfromtheblock
Presents for everyone but the kids are under the tree now, we bought the kids an air hockey table and since they were getting a big present we were going to cut down on other presents (yeah right!!) .. Somehow they're still getting quite a bit!!!
kimichelle
About 12 so far. I think I have about 10 more around here somewhere to wrap, and another 10 or so to buy.

motoXmom
We keep eveything hidden until Donovan goes to bed and is alseep on Christmas Eve. Then it all gets put under the tree. Plus we have 4 cats and if we put them under any earlier they would have a field day tearing at the paper, bows etc.

lovebears65
I have about 24 presents under the tree . Most are small like CDs, video games so it doesnt look like much.. Dh and I have already exchanged gifts I got him an air compressor( way to big to put under the tree LOL ) and an electric razor he needed it now since his broke over thanksgiving .. He gave me my lap top I got on black fri and a diamond ring he just couldnt wait to give me on Fri .. WE are taking the kids to Orlando to Universal for Christmas so that is their main gift so what gifts that are under the tree will be it.. They are getting 8 other gifts each. plus the trip Other years we have about 75 under there tooo but I decided this year that is way to much and they dont remember most of the gifts they got.. So Dh and I decided to give them the gift of memories every year . We are going to take a different trip for Christmas. Next year we have already planned to go up north so they can actually see snow and ski or snowboard..
outnumbered
All the presents are wrapped and hidden away. With kids ages 1/3/5, I don't DARE put gifts under the tree until Christmas eve, after they're in bed. Having the tree up is bad enough. The older two decorated it, and now the 1 y/o keeps un-decorating it. But it just doesn't seem like December without the tree up...so I just have to keep a very, very close eye on her. Keebelf
None right now since Patrick would tear into them at a moment's notice. I am really surprised he hasn't tried to get the ornaments off of it yet. No, ours are still all in the garage and still not wrapped. That is the joy of Christmas eve! biomajor
I've mailed off 24 presents and there are 38 presents where the tree will be :-) We're going to the tree farm Sunday :-) I still have the kids laptops, bags, and printers and mice to wrap and some more clothes for my 2 nieces to wrap. Kohl's is having an interesting sale right now. 50% off of the Red Tag clearance prices, so I got one of my nieces 5 more pair of pants and 4 more shirts (her size is easy--she wears a small and a 3/4, like my daughter. These are just what my daughter didn't like LOL) and the other 2 pair of pants and 2 more shirts (her sizes are harder to find, she wears a 24) I still have to wrap most of that though. My kids are getting the laptops, and they are hidden in a TV box in my room, so there really isn't much other stuff for them to open except a few cheap games, an RC car and the Zire/mp3 player--plus I get them new watches every year. elena_398
Both my kids has a secret santa shop at their schools Friday. So, a lot more gifts will be under the tree. The secret santa shop is so cute. Parents give their chidren a certain amount of money to spend on the family members and they go to the gym during the school day and shop for presents. A company comes in and sets up tons of gifts ranging from $1-$10.I usually give each child $25. Thats $5 to spend on Mom, Dad, Sibling, Grandma, and Grandpa. Its so funny to see the stuff they pick out. They are so proud too because they did the shopping and I don't get to see the items. They wrap everything their too! It will be interesting this year with my daughter as she is only in preschool and gets to shop Friday. Shes so excited!
outnumbered
Ack! Thanks for the reminder...my son's school does this too and I haven't sent any money in with him yet. I'll go dig out some cash now...shouldn't be too bad. Their gifts range from $1 to $5, with most being no more than $2, the flyer said. So he can spend $2 apiece on us. Off to find my wallet... cami_reardon
I have about 150 presents there right now and 12 more in layaway plus I have to buy 8 more than that...now before ya'all think I'm crazy: My mom is 87 years old and she is in a wheelchair full time so I do ALL her shopping...plus my aunt is one of those that thinks she's too busy to shop, so I do all of her shopping too. Then I wrap them all up and just stick them under our tree with our presents because I get the Privelege *S* of hosting Christmas eve for the entire family (23 people) UGH!! But, it is fun. We cut back on our kids this year. Most of the time they each and the son in law have 15 presents and the three grandkids get about that many too, but this year they each only have 7 and we now hav four grandkids so they each get 10 (*L* gotta spoil the little ones) DH and I don't get each other Christmas presents because our anniversary is January 5 so we just do that instead and usually go away for a weekend. CrayZMama80
For us.. right now there are about 23 under there. The rest is wrapped and hidden in places the kids would never think to look.. <I'm hoping> Most of what's under the tree is from our 2 youngest one's Santa's Workshop shopping. <try saying that one 3 times fast> Oh yeah and cami_reardon, mine and my hubby's aniversary is also in January. But, ours is later in the month on the 23rd. Also hubby's b-day is in January. So he gets spoiled on Christmas. I don't make him wait till his b-day to get his stuff. He's a bigger kid then the 4 kids we have! Happy Holidays!
elena_398
My daughter who is in preschool just had her santa secret shop at school so I've added 5 more presents under the tree. I gave her $20 and the teachers bring them around the santa shop to buy for the people on her christmas list. Too cute because one present she bought was from herself to herself! Had to laugh at that one!
motoXmom
My son couldn't wait 'til Christmas to give me his gift from the Santa Shop! I was getting the mail when he got off the bus and he tried to give it to me in the driveway!! LOL He was so excited it was really cute. He got me a "Green Diamond" and "It's REALLY RARE" ... but they had alot of them! That's what he said to me and I couldn't help but laugh! I went on and on how beautiful it was and he told me everytime I look at it, it will remind me of him! AAAHHH how sweet - my little butt kisser! J/K well not really he KNOWS how to kiss up pretty good!

I didn't give him anywhere near that much money though--just $2/gift for dh and I and $1/gift for his brother and sister. It'll be interesting to see what he bought. He's so proud of himself though, so I'm excited.
starshine
My son's school is doing the shopping this year for the first time. It's such a great idea. And they get two presents free and all others are .50. AWESOME! and they wrap them at school so my son it so excited he gets to surprise everyone on Christmas with his gifts. I have to pick up a 3.00 gift this weekend for the classroom exchange tomarrow.
freesia39
dang... some of you are ready to the max. we don't have a tree, and we're not planning to get one, although i was so tempted just to get one of those 2 feet tall fake trees just so we'd have something. i have a bunch of presents sitting on the floor waiting to be wrapped, so there are the presents my bf bought his families and slowly the ones i'm getting my family are showing up. so right now we only have four underneath our kitchen table. hehe. my brother's present is on its way to my office, so that'll be five, and i plan to pick up my parents and my other brother this weekend. and then... my friends. sigh. i said i'm cutting back this christmas though. elena_398
My kids' Santa workshops must be expensive! LOL. The note that was sent home said average gift was $4 and up to $12. Cheapest being $1. So since she had to get presents for Grandpa and Nana I gave her $20. My son who is in 4th grade will get $25 as he likes to buy for Mom, Dad, Sister, Dog (Pet selections this year), Nana, Grandpa, and his cousin. I wish the average gift in my area was $2, then I wouldn't have to shell out so much!
starshine
Freesia you should get a tree! Or do what my mom did one year. Print one off on the computer and tape it to the wall and put the gifts under that. LOL
