crhoward Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061114/ap_on_bi_ge/earns_retailersBad news for stores, good news for us shoppers!
blssed2bme Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I like this. Maybe we'll be seeing some better deals in a few weeks.
Gurnee Al Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Good. In my town, they're across the street from each other.
johjstc Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Good. In my town, they're across the street from each other.Mine too!!
Rebirth Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 2 Targets near me. Walmart is a far but not that far away. Target is still my choice plus I LOVE Target's bag. Nice and strong.
tlm2121 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 if walmart plans on having lots of shoppers on BF they better release some better deals in the real BF ad - they won't get it from the blah deals listed in the adscan
arrowpolisher Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Sounds good to me:) But I agree they need some better deals.
BubbleTea Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 if walmart plans on having lots of shoppers on BF they better release some better deals in the real BF ad - they won't get it from the blah deals listed in the adscan Why is the WalMart ad so blah? I think $169 is a pretty good deal for a PSP, unless there are cheaper prices elsewhere.
angelicswtnss Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 They are both right across from each other in my town, so I am really excited about this. Looks like I will have to choose which one will be my first stop on BF.
Tracy72 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 we dont have a Target near us so I am not missing anything.....well...then again...maybe I am....lol
BrandyJervas Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 yahoo just had an article that Walmart is cutting toy prices big over the holidays
pottsie66 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I love Target - it has my vote for BF!!!!!
elena_398 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Im all for price wars. lol. Actually I've found better deals on weekly ads and clearances then the toys advertised this year on BF. Right now Im 90% done with my kids. Not bad.

elena_398 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I just say keep it up and keep warring with all the stores. LOL. Im benefiting from it
caramel Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I can appreciate this kind of competitive spirit.

Looks like I will have to choose which one will be my first stop on BF.Mine are across the street from each other too. Walmart opens at 5 and Target 7 so I'm all set.
Turtle Mommy Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Woohoo! My Target and Walmart are right next to each other! It goes Target, Walmart and then Kmart!
grants2424 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Does everyone have to put "lol" in every single post?
Princess7915 Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I think all this "major rollback" talk from Walmart is a bunch of advertising hype. Why haven't we seen it yet? If their BF ad is any indication of their strategy for record setting sales they are sadly mistaken.
Trixie15 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Our Walmart and Target are next door, too, so bring on the competition!
jadedmomof2 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 My stores are about 1/2 mile away from each other. MIL and I worked it out, I'm going to go to Walmart, help her get everything, then race over to Target to get the stuff I want from there. Luckily, my perimeter perusing days have helped me memorize the store layout.
glitterstarr Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Yep your right and they only have a small amount of items before they run out just like BF deals. I went to Walmarts sale that started on the 5th that morning about 9 to get the portable DVD player and they were already gone. The sales clerk in electronics said they didn't have many in and they were gone in a matter of minutes. I just ended up getting the Polaroid DVD player for $19 more. More than likely they didn't even have the $99 ones they advertised. So far none of the ads make me want to run out and shop BF at all this year. I think I will do better Thanksgiving night at the Christmas Auction they have locally here every year. Me, too. I can't believe that the prices Walmart are listing now are about the same as the BF prices. Makes no sense.
