peachysquirt21 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Anyone buy these for people for X-Mas? I hate these things & never buy em. Nor would I buy them to give to someone for X-Mas. IMO the popcorn is not all that great in them. Every year I see the stores just full of these things & think stop makin em. LOL
bayhaysay Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I bought one like 10 years ago and the popcorn was chewy.
able Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 lmao i get one every year!!!! i love it. (often from boy scouts trails end pop corn...seems fresh) i am not the one that eats most of the popcorn... i put it out and others eat it.. but i replace my old time with a new one this way...using the tin as a garbage pail or sand bucket for the sidewalks.
freesia39 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 i actually like these things and was considering buying one.
bayhaysay Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 i actually like these things and was considering buying one. Well, you can get them for like $5-$10 so if the popcorn turns out chewy you're really not out that much.
sns128 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I buy one every year for my nieces and nephew, they seem to love them.
laffnatu Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 We buy at least one each year. My mom loves them and we usually end up getting her one too. I like the cheese and the caramel popcorn.
Trish1298 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I sometimes get them. Let the kids eat the stale popcorn and then use the cute can for a trah can in one of their rooms.
mom395222 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Those tins can come in pretty handy...many uses for them! I have a bunch that I store some Christmas decorations in, you greenery like your garland and stuff...you can fit tons in there, just wind it up inside
Cecilliadb Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I love those tins...probably wouldnt get one for anyone else but I would for me....I like the cheesy popcorn hehe.

Where did you get it from? Holy cow that is a bit much for a popcorn tin. I didnt think they ever had them for that much.
Trish1298 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Able, the Boy Scout popcorn is way better than the cheap stuff from the store. I buy Boy Scout popcorn too.
Gporter34 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I like to get them for the kids because they like the popcorn and they use the containers to keep up with things like hair accessories and small purses, I think the boys use their's for small toys.
threelittlecupcakes Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Never fails someone tips it over and the flavors all mix together!
f1rstclass Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I always get one for Christmas and act like it is the most grandest things in the world...then I take the popcorn throw it out and use the tin to store stuff in...usually we take the popcorn to the local park and feed the ducks! LOL!!
ms_mckenna Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 We used to get them all the time for the kids for Christmas ... especially the little ones with the puzzle or whatever on the top. We got them at Walmart and other discount places for at most 10.00
Trish1298 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Ooo the ducks good idea. Do you think they like caramel?

laffnatu Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Never fails someone tips it over and the flavors all mix together! It always happens here too.
diane175 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 My dd has to have one EVERY year! She loves the popcorn and it comes in handy for plopping down to watch a movie. The tins we get haven't ever been stale, so I guess we've lucked out. We usually get them from Walmart or Dollar General for around five bucks.
Bunniq Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 In the past I would buy five or more. I would leave one at home, take one to work, give one to DH to take to work, and whatever was left we would take to informal parties we may have been invited to for the holidays. Last year I didn't buy any, and people missed them. LOL I may pick up one or two this year.
lilac100 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 I buy them for my father-in-law. No not as a cruel joke. I go to Mark's popcorn. They are a specialty store around here. You pick the tin. Then you decide what popcorn to put in it. They have around 50 different popcorn flavors. It is always fresh and the caramel corn is to die for.
elena_398 Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 We love the tins here. My mom buys the kids a new one every year in the character they love. My daughter actually still owns the Disney Princess one and uses the empty one as her trash can. LOL

I might just add a few reusable hints if I buy any to give this year.
tokanm Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I just sent one to my son at college, he and his buddies loved it!! Of course it was a deal idea from here, with a discount code and all:wizard: I even ordered a Halloween one for him with popcorn, pretzels and candy in it. I am having it delivered on 10/30 for a Halloween present. To each his own I guess:idea: We too use the can afterwards for something, usually a trash can for the bathroom/bedroom
kboyts Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 never gotten one and hope I dont this year either.... I hate popcorn .
