lisamag Posted October 1, 2006 Share Posted October 1, 2006 A friend of mine started working at the K-Mart in Las Vegas and told me they do layaways. i didn't know that K-Mart did layaways. it'll be great if the one near me here in N.Y does, I'm going to find out about this. lisamag Posted October 1, 2006 Author Share Posted October 1, 2006 thanks rossman, i'll be going there this week since toys r us is right next door in the mini mall and TRU has a great buy one get one free sales going on i'll just stop in and find out, #1 on the list is near me. k-mart stop put out the fliers here wish they would i miss seeing whats one sale with out having to go there. i could check on line but offen forget. thanks for the list. lisamag Posted October 2, 2006 Author Share Posted October 2, 2006 thats messed up! if they do layaways they should have someone working that station at all times, sometimes poeple are shopping on thier breaks and don't have time to wait for an employee to come back from a break to take care of a costomer. now that store lost your sale even though you went to a different k-mart. if a store do make enough money they close them down. so i would complain to management. it's the managers job to make sure those spots are covered or they should get someone else to ring you up. fulfam Posted October 3, 2006 Share Posted October 3, 2006 All 3 local kmarts here have layaway, If there is nobody at the counter to help you out you can ask at the service desk or somewhere else for them to call someone back there to help you, at least thats what they do in our store. I too had to wait 30 minutes but I was glad that the let me put some items in that had been clearanced. Guess I shouldn't be too excited about it after all though, because I noticed on my receipt that I was charged $5 for putting in the layaway. Then, as per the terms of their layaway, I came back in the store to pay 2 weeks later and the girl with "assistant manager" labeled on her name tag couldn't even get the register to work to take my payment and sent me up front to the registers, where only the service desk was open. And where I had to stand in line behind 6 other people. I said then that I'd never put another layaway in at K-mart, but now that Walmart is discontinuing theirs, I may have to bite that bullet and renig..... I just dialed 411 on my cell and called up front at the service desk and asked if they could please send someone back.
