cherry33778 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Last year while I was waiting in line I was wondering how anyone used the bathroom and still kept their place in line. Some people I noticed never went to use the restroom and we were out there 5 hours before the doors opened. Since this year I am flying solo I have no idea how I can maintain my place in line and go to the bathroom all at the same time. What do you guys suggest?
Daisimae Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I'm one of those people who almost never goes. For one, I go before I leave the house. And, two, I start limiting fluids about 12 hrs before I get in line and only sip while I'm in-line. I use the same strategy for traveling. I DETEST public restrooms. The interesting thing about standing in-line with strangers for 4-12 hrs is that, even if you don't speak to each other much, a peculiar bond takes place so that you will hold spaces for each other like friends. This is how, I manage to leave the line to pack up my "camp site" a 3:30am and also to go to the ladies room, which is usually a short drive away, if necessary. I was a solo shopper last year and probably will be this year too, since my shopping buddy moved to NC and my Sister is in MD.

BabyFu18 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Actually I've never left a line to go to the restroom, I've learned not to drink much before leaving the house and if worst comes to worst then just hold it.
tyler99199 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Sadly last year was my first REAL BF experience. A Bf newbie so to speak. I showed up at CC at 4 am and held it until I was done hitting stores at 11. But I did not really drink much either. I will not wear depends on BF
Rebirth Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Either I don't have to go or I just hold it until I hit a store like Target.
mesarobins Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Here's a hilarious thread from BF 2005: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=20016OMG! That was hilarious. My plan is to avoid the coffee!
Shortness Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Here's a hilarious thread from BF 2005: http://forums.gottadeal.com/showthread.php?t=20016Funny thread--have to say Marc has never let us down in visuals, has he? I'd seriously have to wear Depends or something, however, I don't see myself even doing that. But, I've always had to potty every 20 minutes or so, so I will never be able to do a line for hours by myself...
laffnatu Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Last year my daughter and 2 other friends went with me. Walmart was our first stop. The 3 of us staked out where we needed to be and my daughter went back and forth saving our spots while we went to the bathroom or she got us something to drink and brought it back to us. It worked pretty well. As for having to wait outside, I would make friends with the person behind you so they will save your spot while you go to the bathroom. Most people will save it for you to go pee.
alimfp Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I am avoiding very much to drink!! But I hope to take DH, so hopefully one of us can run to a nearby store that is open 24 hours to use their restroom.. maybe! Of course, I've told DH he can just pee in a beer bottle. Lucky men!! Of course, I could always take the potty seat my kids have.. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000046S2Q.16._SCLZZZZZZZ_SS260_.jpg .. then just use it in the back of the van? Okay, I am blushing just typing this. No way would I do that!

Gurnee Al Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Not in lines long enough to be a problem. I'll go between waiting in different lines.
cactusmom Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I usually have my chair and blankets with me so my spot was pretty safe. Also ask you neighbors in line if they would like anything from the convenience store while you are gone. Keep your neighbors happy and they wont have a problem protecting your spot in line
starshine Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I go before I leave the house and then just hold it until I'm done shopping in my first store. I am alone so no potty breaks for me.
elena_398 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 No potty breaks for me. I go before I head out and pray I won't have the urge to go until later on in the day. LOL. So far so good and I've been going on several years on BF
stationchief Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Simple. 'Ya either go before 'ya leave and hold the rest for about 7-8 hours, or learn to wear those Depends undergarments. Who's gonna know, right?
sigrist_2000 Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 lol..anyone taking the parking lot...lol I DO NOT use the restroom at all when standing in line....if i need to go..im doing the pee dance..and by that time doors are open so instead of doing the pee dance i am dancing thru the store getting my bargains..and by that time pee urges are slowed down enough to wait til i stop shopping...then it kicks in again...and i have to start the dancing again...(i try to cover up by looking at stuff..anything just to not think i have to go...lol...)..and by that time its time to check out..and restroom time...lol now i dont feel so innocent...lol
chopsuey612 Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Bring someone with you to hold your spot in line. With luck, a 24 hour drug store or something will be within walking distance from the store you're in line for. Thats what I did last year. I just walked to a nearby cvs while my girlfriend held the spot.
jasonjayhawk Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I recall a few people getting arrested for using the back of the local Best Buy store...
able Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 i dont know how i missed all the other posts on this...however i would hold it,and not drink much...and lately my blatter has gotten extreamly well at this. practice makes perfect?
blakes_mommy Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I can honestly say that for as long as I have done BF, I have forgotten all about going to the bathroom!! Now I bet I remember!
djmaine Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Make friends with the people surrounding you. They will need a break too and there is no need to fight over sports. You will all get the specials!
gisellerol Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I can honestly say that for as long as I have done BF, I have forgotten all about going to the bathroom!! Now I bet I remember!me to I have never had to use the bathroom while in line I'm usually to excited but i would suggest bringing your kids potty seat in the car with a role of paper toilet:D :D
copados1993 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I can honestly say that for as long as I have done BF, I have forgotten all about going to the bathroom!! Now I bet I remember!ROFL......ME TOO!!!
motoXmom Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I overheard one lady last year say something about a coffee can with catlitter in it. She was talking to the guy that she was with he, he said there's no way I'll hold it. With the wind gusts last (snow blowing sideways with white out conditions) year and below zero temps I don't know how much luck he'd have going outside somewhere! Wouldn't it freeze the second it hit the air-- umm sideways? ROFL OK little too graphic. Now I have cats and drink a lot of coffee so I have cans and litter, but Oh Heck NO! I just wonder what she did with the can afterwards?
mmm40 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I usually have my chair and blankets with me so my spot was pretty safe.
