jellybean051901 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I used to work at Kmart and had to do BF. People are nuts. It is next tp impossible to get in the doors because all these people are breathing down your neck. Glad I don't have to do it anymore
BunniesBunniesBunnies! Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 I'm going to make a deal with my boss.. if I can have Thanksgiving & Black Friday off(and Christmas Eve..) I'll work Christmas Day/New Years Eve and New Years Day.
Aaron Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Nope. started my own business and we are definitely closed on BF Same here. :)

elena_398 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 When I did work I had the afternoon shift on BF. I stayed up all night, shopped in the morning, then went into work. Needless to say it was hell staying awake and trying to be nice to customers. lol
H_Hancock Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Workon BF? No, thank goodness. Both the wife and I get Thanksgiving and BF off as paid holiday days.
elena_398 Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 Thankfully now my husband's company closes for Thanksgiving and BF.
love2beurwifey Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 I am self employed I will not be working
glitterstarr Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I have to work Thanksgiving night, Friday night and Saturday night but I only from 7 to around 11 or 12, so I will have no problem going to shop.
miller205 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I work on BF as well. I cannot get the day off usually due to others w/ seniority taking it before me. Fortunately I can pretty much come in late if I need to. Last year I got up early and hit 4 stores (Target, Penney's, Staples, and Kmart) and still made it in to work by 9am. I have to say that is part of the allure for me. How many stores can I hit and still be in to work at a decent hour? It's like a badge of honor to come into work and tell all the non-BF shopping co-workers what I was up to that morning.
Novac Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 During BF04, I worked 3rd shift until 7am Black Friday. I ended up sending my DW to CC earlier and she picked me up at about 8:30am. Then we hit some of the other stores. Definitely not the way I wanted it to go :)
f1rstclass Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Off on Turkey day, and on BF day---I don't have to go in until 4:00 p.m. so that leaves me literally the WHOLE morning to get my BF shopping done, get home and take a lil' nappy and off to work I go:D ! LOL!!
sns128 Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 If I don't get this new job I'm trying for, I'll be working BF but I don't go in until 6 pm so I have plenty of time to shop then nap before work. I just get the joy of cleaning up the toy department after the bomb goes off.....oh joy.
tokanm Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I had to bargain for BF off. If I take that day off, I must work the day after Christmas. Oh well I hope it will be worth it.
motoXmom Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I had heard that one girl in the toys section had been guarding the pallet of cabbage patch kids that were on sale and when she unwrapped them some woman elbowed her in the eye to get at them. Crazy people.I Love BF just as much as the next person but to me this kind of stuff is Way outta line. It may have been an accident, I of course have no idea, but my gosh. I've seen a lot of nastiness on BF and it's just pitiful. One man actually slammed a pregnant woman into the door to get in front of her when they opened the doors. Her head hit pretty hard. WTH?! Wonder what some of these people teach their children? On the flip side I've also seen a lot of good on BF. People helping someone they just met in line get at least one of whatever they're looking for. One year someone had an extra pair of gloves and gave them to someone else in line that forgot theirs. Sometimes it's just the little things that mean the most.
Novac Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Just wait until the year that Taser Guns are doorbusters. First one there gets them all!!!
