It's back....

7 years ago we started a club for those who are able to post in a thread once per month all year long. The 2018 club winners received t-shirts. The 2019 club winners received tote bags. For 2020 we gave away sparkly GD enamel pins. For 2021 we gave away super-bright LED flashlights. 2022 members received a pair of zippered storage pouches. 2023 members received 20th anniversary magnets and stickers and 2024 members received key chain multi-tools.

For 2025 the prize will once again be a mystery until they are shipped out.

All you have to do to win is post in this thread at least once per month from now (November 2024) through October 2025. 12 months, 12 posts.

You can post as much or as little as you’d like. You could just post “I’m here” or give a 3,000 word monthly update on your life. It doesn’t matter. You can post more than once per month - feel free to reply to others or just be chatty in here. This is what typically happens and it has been great to see everyone posting all year long. Note that empty posts or quote-replies with no actual reply included won’t count.

Anyone successfully doing this will get a prize next year. No random drawing, no luck needed. But if you miss a month, you’re out. Hopefully you stick around a little longer than the 6 seconds it takes to post each month, but that’s up to you.

For the purposes of this contest, each month starts on the 1st at midnight Central time. Also, posts in this thread will not count towards any other Black Friday forum posting contests in 2024 or 2025.

WooHoo, Let's go!

We are on day 3 of tornadoes in Oklahoma. Hopefully Mother Nature gets her stuff together and gives us some fall weather the rest of the month.  I saw someone on Facebook post "We wanted hoodie weather, not "evacuate your hood" weather!"

That’s where you want to say go home Mother Nature, you’re drunk!

Stay safe!

Enjoyed the hoodie joke. 🙂

I'm just glad it didn't snow here this Halloween. Last Halloween, we had heavy snow right in the middle of trick-or-treating hours. I felt so bad for the trick-or-treaters that I just started handing out handfuls of candy. This year was more like normal Halloween weather, but we didn't have as many kids show up.

Happy November! My luger, Kendall, is at her first training camp of the season in Lake Placid as of yesterday. She had her first runs on the track this afternoon on a new sled, with less than ideal track conditions. She crashed out pretty good right in front of the finish line, and will be headed back to sports med tomorrow to see how she's doing, and determine how long she will potentially be sitting out due to a concussion and a back injury. This is her first more significant injury in her 5 years on the team, and I'm hoping this is not setting the tone for the season. If she doesn't have to come home early due to injury, I will be up in 2 weeks to watch race offs to qualify for the North American Continental Cup race being held on the Salt Lake City track next month. Fingers crossed that her injuries are deemed to not be all that significant, and that she's allowed back on the track in a few days! This sport is not for the faint of heart, for sure.

Let’s GO!!!

We are also getting a lot of rain, and it is needed, but not all at once. It’s taken the last of the leaves down and now we have a soggy messy yard. The boys are out of school today, and I am back to work (from home) after traveling for work and sports for the last 10 days.

Same! I may not post every time I visit, but I do check out the site regularly throughout the year.
