happysunshine28 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I was at hobby lobby last week and they are filled up with christmas.
Scott Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Man... what happened to haloween and thanksgiving?
Ravenseye Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 mere speedbumps to the retail crack that is christmas..... -Mike
f1rstclass Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Only mere indications that the "big day" isn't that far away....so hard to believe!
Marcster Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 We were at Macy's on Labor Day and they already have all the Christmas trees and holiday decorations out for purchase? Talk about trying to jam it down your throat.... http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/Marcster2005/Smileypad/Holidays/grinch2.gif
Rebirth Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 LOL. Now that's VERY early. Stores are just putting out halloween stufff.
noehlp Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I have even see people BUYING Christmas decorations within the last two weeks.
sherril Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Every year they just put items out earlier. It kinda wears you down b4 Christmas even gets here. A store I was at the other day had 1 isle of Halloween 1 of TG and a whole section of Christmas and most were already on display
StephanieD Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I have even see people BUYING Christmas decorations within the last two weeks.I'd love to BE one of those people. If only I weren't broke right now. lol This doesn't surprise me though b/c there are people who look forward to Christmas all year and start preparing for it in the summer. There are even message boards dedicated to it. The stores wouldn't put out the products so early if people weren't buying them. So, somebody likes it. One of those somebodies is me!
smangham Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I have even see people BUYING Christmas decorations within the last two weeks. Hello...I'm one of them....TJ Maxx had some Waterford ornaments for $16.99...regularly $45. Couldn't resist. I Love Christmas time!
conj Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 went to big lots for halloween decorations... found much more Xmas than halloween...
Aaron Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I saw that Big Lots started putting out some stuff.
ms_mckenna Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Every store I have been in looking for Halloween decorations has Christmas out at least an isle of it. Walmart still doesn't have all thier Halloween decorations out but has an isle of Christmas up. Seems like some warped logic there .
vonnyb Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I am still so amazed at how early christmas decorations are put out, but it will be here before we know it.
mitchandalisha Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I went to Wal-Mart tonight to purchase a patio table and chairs set that was on clearance. They are getting rid of all their summer stuff and some of the shelves in the back already have Christmas stuff on them! It was weird seeing summer and Christmas stuff in the same aisles!
Gporter34 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I noticed that our WM and Big Lots has been getting the Christmas decorations ready. I'm really getting excited now, especially since our heat wave seems to be letting up now!
ebony0421 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Christmas trees, the lights, the decorations, the food and smells, the everything. When I saw this thread, I begged my husband to put a tree up early. We are normally a day after Thanksgiving decorating family. I'm sorry, I buy all of the decor and dh and dd put it up. He has agreed to put up 1 tree next month, without decor of course. We have 5 trees and if I could put them all up now, fully decorated, I would.
Melissa Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 That's why all the decorations are picked over by the time I'm ready to shop, because people have been pawing through them since September.
cleverbffool Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I am always looking for more ornaments, and decorations. BTW some stores start interspersing Christmas music around Sept 30. ~*~Jess~*~

So, I do it all on November 1st!!!
krissy904 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Sorry to be the one to note that you are all wrong. The Christmas stuff that's on display now is for Christmas 2007. It's even worse than you imagined!

VTmommy Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Costco had some of the big lighted decorations out -- my 1 year old was fascinated by the giant snowman!
blakes_mommy Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I like Halloween so it is a bummer that they are putting the christmas stuff out, I don't have the $$ for it yet!
Aaron Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 They just got the Halloween stuff in at Target, they have quite a bit of stuff I might add!
rrkaren Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Yes, my local Rite Aid drug store has one half aisle of Christmas decorations and cards and one half aisle of Halloween stuff!!
bayhaysay Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Yep, I had to run in Dollar General today to pick up some stuff and they had a whole section of Christmas decor out. It's still too early for me.
