genoandkiddo Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 it depends on whether I take a nap or not. But usually I get about 2-3 hours. Sometimes 4.
bigmochick Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Probably about 6 hrs. I go to bed EARLY because of all that turkey!
elena_398 Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I have yet to go to sleep before BF. Yes, I stay up all night!! With KayBee, I always go there first. They open at 5am. If you are not in line by at least 1am, you mind as well for get it. So I figure I'll suffer a tad bit that night, but will take a nice long nap when I get back!
cactusmom Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Usually only about 2-3. Not for lack of trying though, I end up tossing and turning in bed..lol. I always end up at Best Buy by 2:00 because I just can not sleep.
SynthDude2001 Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 None. We might even be at Best Buy by 9pm or 10pm this year.
RossMAN Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I'm going to try and sleep early on Thanksgiving. Maybe 5-6 hours of sleep?
outnumbered Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I usually wake up at 3 am, so it all depends on how early I can get to bed. I usually get about 4-5 hours--I have to try to get some, because I don't get to come home and crash like I'd prefer to.
ctketch Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I usually get about 3-4 hours of sleep. I toss and turn all night thinking of what I will buy. Or worrying that the alarm won't go off. I also have an hour drive to get to the nearest walmart/target/kmart/shopko.
DestinyFaith Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I usually stay up all night, drinking coffee and getting my game plan on.... ooopssss did I just knock her on the head, roll over his toes, push that cart in their back? Hey sales Lady...I need that TV off the top shelf, I was in line first. Hehehehe (EVIL GRIN)
mugs Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Thing is, if I go to sleep it's unlikely that I can get up at 3 in the morning, so last year I just stayed up all night.
scrappynik Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 Probably between 2 and 4. Just too excited to sleep
heheher74 Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 I go to bed early but I'm always too excited so I end up getting up before the alarm so I only get about 3-4 hours
santaclaus Posted November 12, 2004 Posted November 12, 2004 None. I work nights and I already know that I will have to work Thanksgiving night. I get off at 4:30 so I will head straight for the sales.
Rebirth Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 This year, I'm probably not sleeping since I'm a person who hates to wake up early.
msajeff Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 I'm headed to BB at 6pm this year. That was the time I was told people started showing up in FL last year. I'll be in IL but have that FL blood so I'll be staying in the car until someone else gets there and forces me to jump into a line outside. Here's hoping the 20 degree temperatures keep people inside until after midnight...
elena_398 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Watching the weather tonight for here in Ohio and so far they are predicting rain for BF. Oh Joy!
motoXmom Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Watching the weather tonight for here in Ohio and so far they are predicting rain for BF. Oh Joy! Too funny I was doing the same thing! I watch Fox 8 news with Andre' Bernier in the morning. It did say a temp of 51 but I'm sure that isn't at 3-4 in the morning either!! I try to lay down but usually am not able to fall asleep... just too worked up with going through my game plan in my head.
mom395222 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 We go to my moms for dinner on Thanksgiving, and my sister and I have all the ads spread out figuring out our game plan! I end up so excited I can't sleep at all! *Last year I pushed the cart in, and my sis ran to get something, and I went another way, well I got so frustrated not being able to maneuver my cart I left it! I meet back up with my sis, and she says where's the cart? I said I just left it! She's like Oh my gawd, my purse was in there!!!!! We start panicking, and run to a security guard, then we hear her name over the speakers, we run to the desk, and luckily some people we actually knew had found her purse! She has still not let me live it down LOL! I'm sure this year I won't be the cart pusher.*
motoXmom Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Mom395222 OMG I would freak out if my purse was lost! I usually carry it over my head across my body. I've heard that is the safest way to carry it. I had to laugh at the last line ... "I'm sure this year I won't be the cart pusher"!!! LOL for some reason I got a kick out of that one!
kewlmumfive Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 I will not be getting any sleept for 2 reasons. #1 I am too afraid I will not get up. One year I fell sleep and did not get up till amost 6 a.m. I freaked and ended so in back of a long long line at KB. #2 One year my alarm clock woke up my then 5 yr old son and I ended up having to take him with me b/c he was going to throw a fit and wake up the other 2 kids and his father. I didn't mind so much at the time b/c at that age you can basically buy in frotn of them without them even knowing it, however, he ws bored to death on line and he is now 10 yrs old, too old to buy in front of him or for him to keep his mouth shut to the other 3 kids. Therefore, I will not go to bed at all. Sometiems i will take a 2 or 3 hour nap early in the evening and have my husband wake me before he settles down, but its rare I get to lay down any more with 4 kids ranging from ages 12 to 16 months.

Push the cart? lol I am not so sure I would even let you shop with me after that. lol
schweitzer64 Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 Sleep??? What is that? I'm embarrassed to say that in the past couple of years, I've gotten a sufficient amount of sleep the night before BF. Now, in the good ol' days when all of the stores gave out all sorts of free stuff, I probably never got enough sleep.
mom395222 Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 lol wow you are lucky that someone you know found her purse. Push the cart? lol I am not so sure I would even let you shop with me after that. lol LOL! Well, in my little bit of defense I have, she didn't tell me she was leaving her purse in the cart...but ya darn betcha I grabbed my own purse Hee hee!! And yes we were very lucky to have it found and returned! Trust me, I will never live it down LOL!
peachysquirt21 Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 A few hours if that. What is nice tho is after my shopping I can come home & sleep the rest of the afternoon. :)
musicmark Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I think in the last three years, I've averaged 3 hours of sleep. My wife and I have a deal--I do the crazy shopping to save us the money, and she's a single parent the rest of the day while I sleep it off. This year we may take it a step further. She'll likely keep the kids overnight at Grandma's house, while I head back for the stupidity. --Mark
TheUrge Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Im always up that time of night, so no problem for me :)
Mike Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 Right now ill say 6 or 7...but it will probably be closer to 3 or 4.
warlock110 Posted November 24, 2004 Posted November 24, 2004 i don't sleep, stay here till no one is on, then i got take a nap, then it's probably time to go anyways, early birds get the worm, or in this case the LCD
