magickallight Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 What's your Black Friday budget for this year? I know that between the virus and the hurricane hitting us my budget has been deeply impacted! What about yours? 1
len_mullen Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 As usual, I have no budget. I buy things I want/need when they are at my price point. 4
HanShotFirst Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 No budget, no ideas......I’m a disaster this year. 2
jesusluvu Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 No clue......No budget...no idea what to buy....heck most of the time I am not even sure what day it is 5
bluebear Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Same as all the above. I don’t ever have a budget, I just get things that are needed/wanted if they are a good deal. Thankfully we weren't effected too much money wise, just had to pay son's half of the rent a couple months while he was home and not at school working. Also, I have no lists or ideas yet. And neither does anyone else. We're just not ready yet. But I guess we'll see what deals start popping up, and as usual, that will probably start dictating what everyone "needs". 2
speeddiva Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 I save $20/week so I have a little over $1000 in my Christmas fund but I rarely stay under that since I shop year round. 2
tracy0504 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 No budget, my kids are grown so anything they receive is appreciated. I know I will shop for the regular items like Christmas Eve PJs, throws and cozy socks... I've already purchased a couple of items for the grand youngins. Other than that idk what else I'll be purchasing. 2
Kanyon71 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Don’t really have a set budget. Will get what we want/need and look for good deals. 2
chester5 Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 This year is going to be a much smaller Christmas. My budget is about $200 per kid. Funds are tighter. Stupid Covid! 3
Suzy Crampton Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Try to stay at $300 for each kid and $200 for hubby. It never works. 1
colemandawn4905 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 I try never to add it up lol I’ve been shopping and have a lot of people done but I get crazy the month of December. My husband says this year he’s gonna keep me in line but I doubt it. Lol 3
len_mullen Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 My husband says this year he’s gonna keep me in line but I doubt it. Lol I feel like he doesn't stand a chance. 2
Dyva247 Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 No budget but I also do not know what to expect. I’m not sure what Black Friday is going to look like this year and I’m a tad bit sad that my traditions have and will change from prior years. [emoji20] 1
lucyismycat Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Well, if I ever had a budget, it would have been blown up by 2 console pre-orders. So, we will end up spending more than we did last year, especially if the 9yo needs new goalie equipment this season. Add that to extra sports travel outside of our state (thanks ‘Rona), and there is no budget for the rest of the year. It’s raining money! (That’s what DH thinks *I* think LOL) I think I will wait to hit him up for new flooring until January when he’s recovered some. 1

rockpzazz Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I don't have much of a budget this year, hoping to rack up a few gift cards to get a few things. Then again, I don't have many people to buy for, but I'm always looking out for deals, hope to find a few this year. 1
mcwalker Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 No specific budget for me. I look at the deals and decide what is worth buying, either as a gift or for myself. I often postpone some purchases to see if a good deal appears on Black Friday, but I don't have any specific items on that list yet this year. 2
Elmck Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I have to have a budget or I would go in debt buying for the grandkids They really don’t need that much stuff 2
ljvoskuil Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I am trying to cut back on spending this year, as a lot of unexpected big bills this year:( 2
jesusluvu Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I am trying to cut back on spending this year, as a lot of unexpected big bills this year:(Yep, my mom needed a new 3 ton heating unit and they through me for a loop. 2
Bopeep Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I don't necessarily stick to a budget either. It usually comes out about the same every year, but not by any set plan. 2
cllehto Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I plan to spend less this year but don't really set a budget. I look at the ads and see what the deals are and decide if it's something I really want to get for someone. I do plan to spread it out from now until a week or so before Christmas so there will be enough time for shipping. I doubt I'll do much in store shopping unless the number of covid cases go way down.
lucyismycat Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 I used to spend $2k+ on goalie equipment. That’s what I’m planning for He *should* just need leg pads, blocker, catcher and pants. Everything else better still fit by then! DH told me this morning we are looking at a new HVAC system. I think Santa will bring him a nice wifi thermostat. 2

He gave me a great discount but it was still expensive.
ogadoga Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 My budget is around $2,000. Although my car needs new tires so who really knows what I will have to spend.
ilikefree Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 I don't really have a budget either. I just buy what they have on their lists (which is like pulling teeth to get). I try to spend close to the same amount on each of our 2 sons. Not quite sure what to get the older son's girlfriend and he's no help! They did just buy a house this past summer but I think they have pretty much everything they need for that. I never know what to get my dad since he has everything. If he wants or needs something during the year, he just goes out and buys it. I try to listen for clues in our conversations but can never come up with any hints. I did buy (pre-ordered) him one of the newest Echo Dots for this year, which I think is something he'll enjoy since he's always listening to music and can never find CDs with all the songs he wants on them. We do have a $20 limit on our exchange we do at work and, of course, the Secret Santa we do here.
hillbillyswife Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 Haven't really decided yet because we don't know what Black Friday is going to look like
jaymacfla Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 I bought an expensive 86" 4K NANO TV and expected to get the CFO's report in a negative light, but all systems are a go for the full amount as usual. 1
