len_mullen Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Now that Pnambic has rejoined the Black Friday conversation, it's time to open a Black Friday HDTV Discussion Thread. Please try to keep all discussion related to HDTVs in this UNOFFICIAL thread as I do not have the authority to merge rogue discussions.
bpr Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 As TV sale information becomes available, a good site to do research is www.rtings.com. Not all TVs will be listed, but you can probably find similar models. 3
Kanyon71 Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 I’m looking forward to the discussion. I’m hoping next years BF to get a 75”+ 4K to replace our 70” Vizio 1080P. That one will likely become my father in-laws. I want a nice one next year, I really like our 50” 4K LG.
Brad Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Please try to keep all discussion related to HDTVs in this UNOFFICIAL thread as I do not have the authority to merge rogue discussions.Just to clarify, the reason we decided not to have official product threads (as mentioned here) was so people could create separate threads if they wanted. So if someone wants recommendations for the best 65" 4K TV in the ads, they can feel free to create a new thread - no need to keep everything in one thread where questions/recommendation requests could get buried and be not as visible 1
jesusluvu Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Looking for a good CHEAP gaming TV for my nephew this year. Must be at least 55 and 4K....... GO!
rockpzazz Posted October 1, 2019 Posted October 1, 2019 Has anyone heard anything about ATSC 3.0 or recently dubbed "Nex GenTV" ready televisions for sale in the US yet? I know a few markets are testing the ability for it and I'm in no rush to get TV's but I thought I heard some would be for sale this year. I know Sinclair is making devices you can use with older TV's but I thought even ATSC 3.0 TV's on the market could lower the price of older TV's as well.

jaymacfla Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Looking for a good CHEAP gaming TV for my nephew this year. Must be at least 55 and 4K....... GO!There was a rather vicious rumor that a large vendor will be selling a 55 for $128, lol. With that being thrown about, I do believe that we will see a sub $200 55" 4K model pop up. With Wallyworld selling the ONN brand, they can super discount 4K TVs that lack certain features like HDR.I’m looking forward to the discussion. The fantastic TCL6 series is already $1300 and has been $1154 already and could hit that mark again for BF. 2

bpr Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 Looking for a good CHEAP gaming TV for my nephew this year. Must be at least 55 and 4K....... GO! CHEAP means different things for different people. You get what you pay for, but these have decent reviews. These or other models may be cheaper for BF, so it's really hard to say. A few:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NYQNVY4?tag=rtings-tv-pr11b-20&ie=UTF8 https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hisense-55-Class-4K-Ultra-HD-2160P-HDR-Roku-Smart-LED-TV-55R6E/193724541?athcpid=193724541&athpgid=athenaItemPage&athcgid=null&athznid=PWVUB&athieid=v0&athstid=CS020&athguid=8b168990-4d2-16d9a812339ba4&athancid=null&athena=true 2

nirvana4all Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Amazingly Samsclub has the LG OLED's on sale already at $1200 for the 55" and $1800 for the 65". I'm wondering how much lower they will go for BF. Best I have seen so far is a 1 day sale of the 55" at $1100 after shipped, so keeping my eye open.

Best I have seen so far is a 1 day sale of the 55" at $1100 after shipped, so keeping my eye open. Which models? Just asking because I just purchased a new 55" Samsung QLED TV this weekend. I saw LG OLED's on sale for $1100 all day, but it was the OLED55B8PUA model, which is a 2018 model. Same with the 65" (was $1800 for the 65B8PUA.) Bought a 2019 model year Samsung 55" Q80R for the same price as that 55" LG. I bought the Samsung specifically because there can be burn-in problems with OLED's. Given my viewing choices and habits, static images do sit for hours at a time, so thought it'd be a wiser choice to take the QLED over the OLED. Presonally, I gave up a couple of years ago chasing TV's on BF. Too much one-off junk specifically made for BF, with too many features sacrificed for price. And a quick review of the last few years of BF ads demonstrated high end TV's didn't drop much further in price on BF than had been offered in the weeks leading up to BF. That and I didn't want to wait for another 1 1/2 months to get it. C'est la vie. But good luck to all those seeking TV's this year. Hope you find exactly what you want.

Looking for a smart tv for both my boys. Was going to get them each a 32inch but if they have a larger one that's awesome!
Kash Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 I do not need a new one for myself. However, a couple of my kids need a new one. The one will be buying his own, he wants a 65" or 70". I told him Sams one day sale last Veterans Day had a good one.
tjhollis Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Will be following this thread closely over the next couple months. I bought a 65" Samsung JS8500 about 4 years ago($1900). A couple months ago I noticed I started to get the dreaded edge bleed. Slowly since then its getting worse but also the whole screen in general is just getting darker. This picture use to be fantastic and I would get so many compliments on it. Anyways Im still sticking with Samsung. I have 4 other Samsungs in my house now. This is my very first problem with them and ive had Samsungs for 15 years now. Ill probably go with the Q9 series unless something new comes out before Christmas.'
momlori Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I would like a 4K Sony 55”. Hoping for a good price

He is really hard on electronics, I mean he finds a way to break all of them.... cant explain it but the all seems to die around him - LOL...... I am looking into these as they will work as look it doesnt have that image drag while playing. That is the only thing he is adamant aboutWe can dream! Also sub $200 on a 55" and sub $375 on 65"! mgreen Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 I believe the best buy deal is if THEY put it on sale on black friday. That's what I thought it said. I am watching for a good deal on a 75". My hubby has been wanting a bigger tv for quite some time. Now due to addition we will have a big enough room for one.
jaymacfla Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Walmart has a Qled 4k with Dolbyvision for $498. 65" Vizio.
Kanyon71 Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I'm still hoping for a decent 55" 4K for $200 or under. 1
wittenlover Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 I'm still hoping for a decent 55" 4K for $200 or under. I came close with that Target deal on the Sunday before BF last year. Cleared the Sharp 55", taxes and all, for less than $225. 1

wittenlover Posted October 25, 2019 Posted October 25, 2019 Hmmm I could go for something like that. Do you have RedCard was that after the 5%? No RedCard, actually. So with RedCard, it would've been cheaper still. 1
