Steakgoddess Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Going a bit early this year. Weekend of Nov 12. Last year it was Nov 1 because of work traveling. This year, it's because I'm ready!
dakotadenise Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 We put ours up Thanksgiving weekend and take it down New Years Day.
zim05 Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 I now have the urge to do it this weekend.... I might hold myself off by putting the lights up outside at my parents' house... 1
AuntJamelle Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 If it were up to me, I'd put it up the weekend before Thanksgiving. But DH doesn't want it up until after Thanksgiving. So I start on it when we get home from Thanksgiving dinner while he lays in a food coma on the couch.
bluebear Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 The day or weekend after thanksgiving usually. Last year I think it was a week later, I just wasn't in the mood, and the rest of the houses didn't get decorated until a couple days before Christmas!I can't do it before, I need to do one holiday at a time. That's how mama always did. What's funny though, is she now puts it up the weekend before thanksgiving, and all the other decorations too. Except the kitchen. After thanksgiving dinner, we switch it from thanksgiving to Christmas.I hope I'm in a better mood this year and decorate again. The candy cane extension cord from True Value will be my motivation! 2
sunni0913 Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 My girls think it should go up on November 1st but I have a rule that we have to wait until after all the birthdays are done (oct.12, nov.3, & nov.13). So it goes up on November 14th..lol
Kanyon71 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 We wanted to put one up this weekend but everyone being sick put a stop to that. Hopefully this week or weekend we will get one of them put up. We also need to do our rearranging of things to get ready for holiday guests.
Reinholt1 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 This year it will be either the day before or the day of Thanksgiving --- while the food is cooking. Somehow I managed to get 3 nights off in a row at the hospital, so that's when it will all get done! Mom is happy about it too. (Normally she would have wanted it up around the 10th - 12th.) But the older she gets, the sooner she wants to get celebrating. (She says "I could be dead by then! I want to celebrate NOW!")
ell1s2005 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I usually wait until Thanksgiving weekend, but I put mine up last night. I haven decorated it yet, but it will be by the weekend. Sent from my Z970 using GottaDeal mobile app
flyjar Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Thanksgiving weekend has been the tradition for my wife and kids since we got married. Growing up we usually did it the first weekend in December.
pinkchrome Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 I started mine in Sunday. It's a 12 foot tree so it takes a while. I hope to finish by this weekend. But the rule is we don't turn it on until we see someone else has theirs on so we aren't the first! Sent from my SM-G935V using GottaDeal mobile app 1

We want a huge one for our front room where we have like 25' high ceilings lol. Right now our tallest one is 9'
Rellim1960 Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Christmas Eve Day, every year it's our tradition 2
ogadoga Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 We put one tree up in our basement last weekend. We will be putting the other one upstairs up over Thanksgiving weekend.
jewleyp Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) We have done a real tree for years and always get it the week of Thanksgiving. We don't use a lot of heat. its in a window and I am really good about checking water so we had never had a bad tree at Christmas. Just remember to do the "needle test" when you are shopping for the tree! ! We have a house in the neighborhood that put up their Christmas yard and tree the 1st weekend in November and have their things on! I love them! Edited November 13, 2016 by jewleyp 2
Illinoismom Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Brought down the decorations, they will take almost 2 weeks to put up. Main tree goes up 1st weekend in Dec as it is real and we have to go cut it.
wittenlover Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 I'll put mine up when I get back from my dad's place after Thanksgiving. Small (~4') artificial.
stevierocks Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 wow i feel so behind. even though i normally dont put up tree yet this made me realize how far behind i am this year. yikes.
raven20_79 Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 I put my tree up at work on November 1st. I haven't had a chance to do mine at home, though. Hopefully, this weekend.
shopping4my3son Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 After Thanksgiving. I'm tempted to do it this weekend though. I have some Thanksgiving decorations up so I want to wait since everyone is coming here. We have tickets to see Straight No Chaser the Saturday following Thanksgiving. With Black Friday plus a meal in there I'm not sure there will be much time that weekend to put it up. Maybe that Monday the 28th.
hokie7373 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Wife and daughter got one of ours out 2 days ago and put just the tree up with no decorations. It's a 6' tree and our 2 cats are knocking it down relentlessly so we're going to have to resolve that issue before we decorate it.
Kanyon71 Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 One of ours is up at the end of the hall to our bedrooms lol. Rest will start going up next weekend.
stewarta4 Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 We put most of our inside decor up this weekend! Outside decorations will go up on Blackfriday evening! 5

sas377 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 I can't put a Yule Tree up because the one cat eats it. I have tried everything to make her stop and nothing works, so I just forgo that tradition.
