Last year it was Nov 1 because of work traveling. This year, it's because I'm ready!

I now have the urge to do it this weekend.... I might hold myself off by putting the lights up outside at my parents' house...

If it were up to me, I'd put it up the weekend before Thanksgiving.
But DH doesn't want it up until after Thanksgiving. So I start on it when we get home from Thanksgiving dinner while he lays in a food coma on the couch.

I can't do it before, I need to do one holiday at a time. That's how mama always did. What's funny though, is she now puts it up the weekend before thanksgiving, and all the other decorations too. Except the kitchen. After thanksgiving dinner, we switch it from thanksgiving to Christmas.
I hope I'm in a better mood this year and decorate again. The candy cane extension cord from True Value will be my motivation!

My girls think it should go up on November 1st but I have a rule that we have to wait until after all the birthdays are done (oct.12, nov.3, & nov.13). So it goes up on November 14th..lol

We wanted to put one up this weekend but everyone being sick put a stop to that. Hopefully this week or weekend we will get one of them put up. We also need to do our rearranging of things to get ready for holiday guests.

Thanksgiving weekend has been the tradition for my wife and kids since we got married. Growing up we usually did it the first weekend in December.

I started mine in Sunday. It's a 12 foot tree so it takes a while. I hope to finish by this weekend. But the rule is we don't turn it on until we see someone else has theirs on so we aren't the first!

12' Tree. Wow I have tree envy now. We want a huge one for our front room where we have like 25' high ceilings lol. Right now our tallest one is 9'

We have done a real tree for years and always get it the week of Thanksgiving. We don't use a lot of heat. its in a window and I am really good about checking water so we had never had a bad tree at Christmas. Just remember to do the "needle test" when you are shopping for the tree! !
We have a house in the neighborhood that put up their Christmas yard and tree the 1st weekend in November and have their things on! I love them!

Brought down the decorations, they will take almost 2 weeks to put up. Main tree goes up 1st weekend in Dec as it is real and we have to go cut it.

I'll put mine up when I get back from my dad's place after Thanksgiving. Small (~4') artificial.
For those curious: Kitty in my pic is current furbaby, Mew, curled up in a box far too small for her. Ha! "If I fits, I sleeps!"
NASCAR fan (particularly JGR pit crews - many friends there), diehard UM Wolverine fan, animal lover, car girl, cookie baker, singer, bargain hunter. Yep. That about covers it. lol

I put my tree up at work on November 1st. I haven't had a chance to do mine at home, though. Hopefully, this weekend.

After Thanksgiving. I'm tempted to do it this weekend though. I have some Thanksgiving decorations up so I want to wait since everyone is coming here. We have tickets to see Straight No Chaser the Saturday following Thanksgiving. With Black Friday plus a meal in there I'm not sure there will be much time that weekend to put it up. Maybe that Monday the 28th.

Wife and daughter got one of ours out 2 days ago and put just the tree up with no decorations. It's a 6' tree and our 2 cats are knocking it down relentlessly so we're going to have to resolve that issue before we decorate it.

I can't put a Yule Tree up because the one cat eats it. I have tried everything to make her stop and nothing works, so I just forgo that tradition.
