jaymacfla Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Like the post above, my birthday is usually the week of Black Friday. This year it will be two days before. I can't remember a time when I didn't get something for myself since I started lining up at CompUSA.
nini Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I shop Black Friday with my mom, so it's inevitable that she has me pick out a Christmas gift for myself. Other than that, sometimes I'l take advantage of the good deal on household items for myself & I almost always purchase a new movie or two.
delphernina Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Yep - this year I'm hoping to get a new fitbit, maybe some new sheets, and some jewelry.
tinkrbel Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Yep - this year I'm hoping to get a new fitbit, maybe some new sheets, and some jewelry. One of the office stores (max, depot or staples) has fitbit with a $25 store card this week.
smtowngrl Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 If there is a good enough bargain then I have no trouble buying something for myself.
atipton129 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Yes, I ALWAYS buy for myself / house on BF. I bet only 25% or so is actual presents.
tracy0504 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Always!!!! The tradition in my house is that on Christmas eve everyone gets to open 1 gift...pajamas...lol...i also get household items & every year i get new rubbermaid containers...mainly little things...
Thumper501 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I usually pick up 1 or 2 items for the house. The rest is presents.
catholicbride11 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 ALWAYS! It's pretty much the one time of year I don't feel guilty for buying more than a few things for myself.
chelamarc Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I have noticed that in the last couple of years, I have bought more for me and my house than for the boys. They are getting older and more into electronics/video games, which I usually find on Amazon or other stores online prior or after BF.
Peppermint Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Yes, I can't pass up the deals on some items.
hockeyfanamo Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I do! I look for dvds/blu rays, linens, and kitchen oddities for myself!.
rockpzazz Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Most of the stuff I would usually buy would be for myself. Granted I didn't spend 100's of dollars, but I did find a lot of stuff for myself. I would find stuff for other people as well. I think the one year I bought only for other people was the first year I bought online, and it worked out well enough that I buy for other people online, then if I go to the stores, I get stuff for me.
NovemberDiva Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Absolutely! My birthday is around this time so I definitely treat myself to some goodies! Usually by black friday, I'm pretty much done with the kids anyway!
kboyts Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I sure do. Normally im a good percentage done with my shopping by blackfriday. So I brave the masses to score myself a few well deserved rewards.
ShelB Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Absolutely! I usually buy something for myself that I don't think anyone else will. This gets wrapped and placed under the tree along with all of the other gifts. Funny thing is that I usually buy and wrap so many gifts I may forget what it is until I unwrap it!
BFNinja Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Yes.......Yes I do. Is that a bad thing? Lol 1
queenkishaa Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Of course, it would be a travesty if I didn't. Lol
milkspld Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I'm often done shopping by BF, but I'll still get stuff online (mostly for me, haha). The websites have really made BF so much easier. And I'll go to a store or two just for the fun of it, for the thrill of the hunt!
jesusluvu Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 MOST DEFINITELY!!!! That is the only way to ensure I get what I want for the best price. Everyone else is just a bonus - LOL
hack2222 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Always buy for myself, and this way especially on series dvd bluray tv shows I get the current seasons I need and don't have to worry about someone giving me the wrong season. When you get shows like the Big Bang Theory for example is has season 7 out and is on season 8. The last thing I want is to get a duplicate season from someone who wants to get me something they think I may like. So that to me just makes it easier, to give them a list of item to get and this way the $10 I spend I know that I save up to $40 for myself later. Some things best to just purchase for myself and then if I don't get the other movies that were just released, there's always giftcards and exchanges. Some things I just find easier to buy myself, and I don't purchase anything that I don't need and try my best throughout each year to put money aside every year, so that when Black Friday rolls around I don't feel bad spending money on something that I was going to purchase anyways, I look at the money that I save every year buy patiently waiting for the sales to begin and make sure to make a list of what site has which season and at what price so I know I'm getting the best deal and enjoy being quick on the purchase.
ISU ME Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Always! Why not pick some things up when the deals are great!?
laddhorn Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Of course! It is the only time of year that DW won't question the purchases I make!
smoore11506 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Heck yeah I buy for myself - it's the deals that I get that help me justify being "selfish" when I should be buying for others 1
pogiporkchop Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Yep. Don't care if it's a coffee or a single truffle I always find something.
diana03 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I always make a "me" list and watch for a bargain before I buy.
bigjimslade Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I do. There are specialty things I enjoy like playing cards and stamps that I buy from mom and pop businesses that run BF sales.
bossy1 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Yep!!!....especially the pj's, cheapie sweats, and RUBBERMAID... I cook ALOT and always buy enough to last the year...( I switch out every three months)... just call me a Rubbermaid hoarder...lol
