CG480 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 What percentage of your Christmas shopping bill is being financed with credit cards? None Up to 25% 26-50% 51-75% Over 75%
LyLMyssChaos Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 None. We put a little on the card, but are sending in enough to cover it all this week from hubby's Christmas bonus.
KellyGus Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 There are some items I will put on my CC but as soon as the bill comes in , it is all paid off. The only exception this year is the new computer and the 5 tickets to Calif :)
elena_398 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I pay cash or debit card from my checking account. I have a credit card, but don't charge anything unless its an emergency
mghtymth27 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 None -- way to much trouble that way. However, we catch up on our bills for the next couple of months.
hope1976 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 0% here too We don't have any credit cards, which at Christmas time is probably a good thing for me
Gloey Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I put something on my credit card in August that I ordered from Fisher Price online (yes, I start early) but nothing else. I hate to use credit cards, I always feel so in debt!
Melissa Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 A few things that were ordered online, but those will be paid for as soon as hubby gets his next big check.
Christi Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I've put about $100 on so far, much less than I expected I would have to.....I hope to pay it off in January.
floridasun5 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 100% of my Christmas it put on my credit card, but it is paid off by the time the bill is due in January with our December pay checks and bonuses. The only reason I put everything on the credit card is because I get nice rewards back from Discover :) Just this past month, I got $43 back as the percentage of what I have spent. I can then either decide to put that towards the bill, or I can get something for myself that I wanted by didnt get for Christmas
ebony0421 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 The only items that were bought with credit was the jewelry from Zales and some items on bf from Macy's. By mid January, it'll be gone.
Guest Deals4Me Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 none...all cash and debit cards. My theory is this, IF I DONT HAVE IN THE BANK, OR IN HAND, WE DONT NEED TO BUY IT!
leefamily23 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 No credit cards here either. We did take a $100 cash advance this week from dh's check next week- so that is the only debt we incurred this season. Only did it so I didn't have to worry about shopping on 12/23. (He travels for work and can have $250 a week in advanced money for expenses but usually only uses $100).
sundevils Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Everything is put on CC but when the bill comes in it all goes away and we are left with some nice rewards.... I agree with the theory "If ther is not enough in the bank to cover it, then we dont need it"
JanaBanana Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Oh about $100 of it or so... in other words very very little :)
daworths8 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 No CC here! We pay cash! If anything online that I want its either with a gift card or if they have directly out of bank account option. If neither of those it doesnt get bought.
shanni Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I use the credit card for the rewards too. Not to mention we lend out ALOT of cash at Xmas time and get paid back in Feb when they all get their tax returns.
