bfaddict1977
My friend just called and told me she'd spent all her money and didn't have any for bf shopping tomorrow. I am SO bummed and upset. I admit I was really looking forward to someone helping out with my kids and grabbing items I needed. Now it'll just be me. oh well! I still plan to go and have fun but now it just won't be as fun.
dgmommie
Tell her she could still go. You don't need money to window shop and enjoy the experience. :)
<3my3babies
I too am shopping without my bff this year. She moved out of state. I had to enlist some of my family members!
tinkrbel
I agree talk her into going with anyhow. I don't think I'm exceptional and I've gone shopping with bff JUST so she can actually get stuff done. It's a PITA shopping with kids. I was pleasantly amused in Macy's a while ago when my GS almost 2 sat quietly in stroller playing with my hair bands, I guess the different colors amused him. That and rings, he loves playing with my rings. I should get some plastic/fake ones so I wouldn't care if he loses them.
rjncmj
I'm impressed that you're still going to go by yourself, and a little envious! :) I use to go by myself before I had kids. This year my family is out of town, my husband is now an ex-husband, and my only friend that likes to Black Friday shop always has her own plan. My kids are between 5-10 years old so I can't leave them alone and I would be miserable if I took them with me, they'd probably be miserable too. So this is the first year I will try and see what I can get online, luckily I don't seem to need as much this time.
aeraen
Have you thought of asking her if she would mind watching your kids for you while you shopped? Maybe she'll let them sleep over at her house. You can get your shopping done and put away while the little one's snooze comfortably.

mf47960
This year will be my first year going at it alone as well! For the past 13 years I have gone with my mother, but she moved to SC this year so it'll just be me! None of my friends get into BF and they all think I'm nuts lol so no chance of them coming with me!
LisiLiz
I normally go with my mother in law, but this year seems like I'm going alone, she cant come. Hubby stays home with the kids. and I'm like the only one that does the BF shopping in the entire family. My mother in law got into it when I took her 4 years ago and she loved it. muffycat
I've always gone by myself. It wasn't bad at all, for the most part everyone on line is friendly. It's not something my family and friends think I'm nuts to go out every year.
magst24
I usually go by myself too. I get what I need and get out, none of this lets look at this or that. This year a friend is going with me but she's not shopping. She usually bails out all the time, so we will see if she goes! The people in lines are very friendly though. Last year I shared a breakfast sandwich with a guy while we were waiting in line for the xbox at WM

ISU ME
If she won't go with you to help like she was planning have her watch your kids while you go to make it easier on you! I have a hard time keeping track of my 3 year old on a normal shopping day, I can't imagine taking young kids black friday shopping! Good luck! TamiL
I go it alone every year! A friend tried to crash the experience with me last year and it just didn't work out. I want to get what I want and move on......
pogiporkchop
Me too! It's my one guaranteed time to myself "holiday" of the year. DH will send a list with me (and a reminder to not spend too much) but volunteers to watch the kids. I like being able to go at my own pace. maguszxz
That's how my mom and I got to do Black Friday ourselves, funny story. It was a long time ago, back when I was still in college. My co-worker/friend at the time told me about the wonderful deals I could get after Thanksgiving at 5am. I was DIRE need for a digital camera because my last camera died on me. So I asked if I could go with her and her family, she said yes and told me to be ready at 4am. I was so excited, so early Black Friday morning, I was ready at 4am. Only she didn't show. I called and called but no answer. I was heartbroken, my mom who was up because she want to see me off, saw how down I was and not wanting to let her baby boy down, she went with me. We had a blast, I got my camera and a few other things. I found my ex-friend (actually she wasn't my ex-friend because of this, something to do with ordering me to be Santa Claus for the college's Christmas parade float at the last minute but I digress) an hour later at the same store. She didn't even had the decency to ring my doorbell. Anyway, it's been me and my mom ever since. Maybe I will let my mom retire and let my future girlfriend/wife take up the mantle. Maybe not, lol. nebraskaparkfan
I lost my BF shopping buddy last year. His dad had himfor theholiday so I missed his entertainment value. My 17 yo son is going with me this year. He's 6'6" tall with really long arms and is a great help. He's so cheerful and grabs stuff off the tall shelves for everybody else. He loves to watch the crazy people at the stores that don't really do lines very good. I have friends who have asked me to go with him, but since I'm shopping for him and his sister, I prefer his company since I need his advice on the movies and such at WM b/c I can't remember what they own already. Danascraps
I much prefer to go alone! When I've gone with others, I spend so much time waiting for them! Much quicker and more efficient on my own.
starbeck96
Well this year it will me and DH. This will be his first year!! We aren't really going for much though. I am going to Walmart to get the Xbox, trampoline, and a few small things. Then we are going to Kmart to put a few of the cameras on layaway and some of the SD cards. Then we are heading to Guitar center to get a new guitar for one of my sons and a double bass drum kit for my other son. Then we may go to Gamestop to get a few games. We are going to call this a trial run for him..lol. I am looking forward to spending time with DH though. It has been forever since we have been out alone. leefamily23
Last year I had absolutely zero money to spend on BF. I still went w/ my BF partner, my sister. It is about the deals, but it's also our day to do something together every year. So, I still had a blast going and helping her chase down bargains and spending that time together. soleglo
I always went alone when my kids were young, you just have to be prepared and PRICE MATCH everything you can @ Walmart so you don't have to go to more than one store. Make it a game with the kids!

mf47960
I too had a very successful trip this year alone... got everything I wanted even though I did have to go to Walmart 3 times to make sure I got the things I wasn't able to get during the 10pm rush including a desktop at 1am :) Was pretty excited and so ready for bed now!
