  1. I go it alone every year! A friend tried to crash the experience with me last year and it just didn't work out. I want to get what I want and move on......
  2. Luckily my husband always has to work! The idea of him fighting over parking spaces and being patient in line just won't work.
  3. School Bus Driver here....No work on BF!
  4. Last year I went with my daughter and her husband....Not this year. I am much faster without extras tagging along... I love them and all but this is Black Friday!!!
  5. Last year when the Nintendo Wii came out I arrived at 11pm to join the 6 or so people already in line. As the night wore on another 35 or so people slowly joined the line. 5 minutes before 7 am some woman got out of her car and tried to go to the front of the line. She was real defiant and stated that the ad said these go on sale at 8 am and she is here before 8 am so she is going to get one. Of course, we heckled her and caused a commotion. When the store manager came out a few minutes later we explained what was going on. She was told to go to the back of the line like everyone else. Unfortunately she ended up getting one because they had like 40. I hate people who think they are better than the rest of us.
  6. I am underwhelmed so far by any of these ads?? Normal sales prices seem to be on par with most of what I've seen...
  7. Without the guidance of early Black Friday ads to strategically plan our trips we should no longer shop at Walmart. Actually we shouldn't shop there anyways. Always low prices, even lower wages. My kids will not be getting Walmart (Chinese made) toys this year and they already know it. We will be doing more old fashioned things like books and art supplies. I guess its a good thing my kids like that sort of thing. If we did this in mass, just maybe Walmart would get the message. Its funny, when Walmart first came to town in the late eighties or early nineties, they had all these signs that said "Made in USA" and "American made". Quickly those signs dissipated and were replaced by the stupid smiley faced emoticon that slashed prices everywhere in the store. Unfortunately our economy has literally forced millions of Americans into shopping for the lowest price at any cost. Hence the reliance on Chinese made goods and the disappearance of the American manufacturing economy. Walmart will not be getting any of my family's hard earned cash this season.
  8. I was able to get 2 1gig Memory Stick Pro Duos for 19.87 each!! This was a bargain as I just bought a PSP for 149.00 at Meijer yesterday!
  9. Our Meijer was pretty wiped out by 6am here too. I had grabbed the last 2 littlest pet shop b1g1 free things too....Then a young mother came by and asked me where I found them and I gave them to her, my daughter is 8 and doesn't really like this stuff anymore, but its so hard with the "great deal" mentality to not put something I don't need in my cart, LOL I got there about 5:15 and went around and got everything I needed. There was quite a line in the electronics department either for the Ipod or TV. I am so glad I didnt want anything there this year!! What I found was funny is the dedication that we bargain hunters share. It was soooo foggy this morning and our Meijer store is out on the fringe of the city. You could hardly see a few feet in front of you to drive yet the parking lot was full at 5:30 am. I must be nuts.
  10. My kids are getting the DS lite. They are 5 and 8. I bought them a Nintendo Wii on Sunday...yes I waited 8 hours in the freezing rain for Target to open, LOL The Wii is the most fun gaming system we have ever owned. It may not have the graphics of the PS3 but for the family, you cannot beat the fun this thing offers. It really feels like you are in the game. I am thinking about a PSP for myself, but I don't play games. I thought of it more as a neat little tools to store some family videos, pictures and music and be able to surf the internet at Panera, LOL
  11. I would bet on PS3 or Wii as Walmart didn't have many of these at launch compared to Target in our area.
  12. Cancelled mine this morning, got one at Target after a very cold rainy night outside.
  13. Bought our Wii at 8 am this morning after 8 hours outside at Target......I was number 5, Our Target had 39, way more than our Walmarts (20) and Meijer (24). Yesterday at about 3 pm both Walmart and Meijer had all systems spoken for already... A few people who came at 7 am when the tickets were being handed out at Target were able to get one. I now have one happy little 5 year old boy!

    Pink Nintendo DS

The blue one is the DS, the pink one is the newer DS lite. It's a much brighter screen on the new one.
  15. Just got my order in also. Sure hope it comes without a cancellation notice. I just went to Walmart and Meijer, both store have lines longer than quantity expected......Target has a sign outside the building on where to form the line for tomorrows opening. I have to work until 11 pm tonite so I figured I'm SOL on that too.
  16. All I get is last week's ad, not the new one.

    Pink Nintendo DS

Target here in Fort Wayne has them for $119 now and they have plenty of pink ones. Not a great deal but $10 cheaper than what I paid for them at Wallyworld last month.
  18. We get Pizza Hut almost every week. They have the Large New Yorkers for 4.49 every day due to a Little Ceasers moving in across the street last year. They used to be 3.99 each!

    Aldi's

Yes they do accept food stamps, sorry, I forgot about that. One one hand it was great to only have to handle cash and stamps, but then again, really hard to shop there when I only use checks and credit cards now. I have to admit I haven't been in an Aldi's in almost 13 years. Perhaps I should go back and check out the deals.

    Aldi's

I used to manage an Aldi's store. At that time we didn't have BF type deal, just deals every week. Most of the items were of good quality with names not familiar in the US. Alot of it was German, where Aldi's is from. The only thing about Aldi's we didn't take checks or credit cards, just good old fashioned cash. I think this may have changed but its been quite a few years since I've been there.
  21. Target or Walmart, I have no intention of fighting the crowd at Best Buy to get a deal that probably includes an aol subscription!!!
  22. 7 is probably a bit too old for this. My 7 year old would play with it for maybe an hour and then that would be the end of her. She is already starting to expand her world and wants books, learning things, nintendo ds, mp3 players and make up. She has 2 older sisters (23 and 14) so that may very well be why she is so intent on growing up now.
  23. Why would you need to buy the OS and Office again?
