  1. Our store had 43. I was 26th in line. I got one of the TVs. Sorry about all the bad experiences. This year our Best Buy seemed to be even more polished than previous years. They had printed out notes to hand out to everyone on how the doorbuster tickets would work - no changing of the rules. They went down the line asking each person which doorbuster item they wanted - 1 ticket per item per person, as desired. I got 4 doorbuster items - all the ones I wanted. They had the front of the store blocked off and the line blocked off as well. Following the employees as they went down the line with the tickets were cops so that no one could cause any problems. There was no cutting in line allowed, and they escorted people off who tried to do so. They let in 75 people in to the store at a time, and there was no trampling, fighting, or crowd problems. They also passed out free cokes, snacks, and caffeine supplements, and showed the Harry Potter movie as well. Before the movie started they had music playing out of loud speakers. It's weird how different Best Buys had totally different experiences.
  2. ..right, but we aren't about to let that happen... those of us who have been here over 24 hrs know all the faces in the line, and when someone tried to sneak up and blend in with others they were promptly escorted away and then they put up the shrink-wrap stuff along the trees in front of us. Everyone around us is pretty adamant about making sure we don't see new faces suddenly show up that we didn't recognize, and asked all the people in front of us exactly how many they were.... Best Buy blocked off the front of the store with carts and wrap to prevent people from trying to walk up, but we still have to watch for those who try to blend in. So far it's ok, but it's definitely different. The movie is occupying people but I don't want it to turn into a distracting event once the tickets get passed out. They also said they are going to let 75 people go in at a time, be in there a while, and then let another 75 go in... maybe that will alleviate the hours of lines for the cash registers...we'll see.
  3. ...So Best Buy has set up loud music playing in speakers for us out here, have the projector set up for the movie, and have passed out free popcorn, coke, and caffeine supplements to us.... I didn't even think they were going to do the movie at this location. It's getting a little rowdy and crazy now, with people starting to show up regularly and the line winding all the way around the building out to the street. It's different than any other BF at Best Buy before.... they seem to be really competing for the business this year and been trying to perfect the science of it each year -- they've definitely made it an 'event'...
  4. yep, i figured something like that would happen on the itunes card...that's why i went ahead and did the $80... good to know; sorry for those of you who it canceled on.
  5. well i went ahead and got it for $80...no sense in losing that deal i guess...
  6. mmmkay....well, i have the itunes card in my cart for the $80, but am trying to wait it out to see if I can figure it out for $60, but I might as well pull the plug before they get sold out again
  7. yeah i went ahead and got it already online since it was there - read up on the processor: it's an entry-level CPU, but i'm not a pc gamer, so i should be good to go - should be better than the toshiba i got here at BB on BF 3 yrs ago, with the power cord now frayed and chewed up and sparking flames every time i turn it on, so it's all good. ...still waiting in line though for ticket items - think i'll go for the asus tablet and the sharp tv....
  8. still possible to get the itunes card for $60? if so, is there a link?
  9. yeah well those are sold out right now
  10. i'm waiting on the itunes card also....
  11. magical orange - seriously! Well, I'm also in line outside, and since I got the laptop and other stuff I wanted online, I might get the hard drive in the store if I can't get it without shipping - cuz I know the 25 people or so in front of me are not here for the hard drive... so if I have to, I'll go in and get it. I think I'm going to try for the Asus Tablet ticket too now since I'm out here anyway and all the reviews on it look really good...
  12. ...same problem here....keep trying to get the toshiba hard drive and it keeps adding shipping on it...so i canceled that from my order, and keep removing it from my cart when i try to order again.. it's only on that item for me though. who knows.
  13. am in line at best buy but got a lot of items online just now, but have the delivery method as ship to me (and it still added a shipping charge by the way) ...and notice that I could get pick up stuff in the store instead. Is there a way to change the order from ship to me, to pick up in store, or do i need to cancel and start over?
