A little bird told me......

Sam's will open Friday 5 am. They will have items that are not currently out on the floor. As of today, there is no list that I know of, other than an HP computer that cannot be put out on the floor until Friday the 25th. More details as I get 'em.

UPDATE 11/10/05 - Xbox 360 goes on sale November 22. Some stores have them in storgage, but not on the floor. The price will be $449. Sam's Club does not have a back room per say. Pallets of stuff are kept up on the steel racks, but a little birdie has told me there are actual trailers out behind Sams, locked, and no one but the receiving manager knows what is in them. I'm still trying to find out..... stay tuned.....

UPDATE 11/16/05 - Well... a birdie actually got to see a list of what is in one of the trailers, and... they were only listed by item number..... no descriptions. Purses will be put on sale that morning... Elsewhere I have heard that there will be no actual ad, and new holiday items will be put out. Someone else said there would be a flyer of sale items.... Well, maybe, but I have been assured that some things will be reduced.... And get this....... open from 5-7 am , then Sams' thinks it can shoo all us 'normal' members out and only allow business members in till 10. Does Bentonville even have a clue???

If I get some actual items and prices, I'll post them. Otherwise, I would not make Sam's one of your primary BF visits.

UPDATE 11/18/05 - The computer that will be put out BF will be an HP 64 bit laptop (I do not know any other details.). It was sold or available previously at Sam's Club [or was mistakenly put out and pulled]. The price was/is about $1000. Now, since sometimes Sam's messes up (and other retailers also), for example selling a new release dvd or Harry Potter book a few days early, instead of the 'official' release date, it may be possible that you can find the boxes for these on the floor, or easily seen up in the steel racks. I don't know if the price will be the same, or lowered - sorry. I would not make this a must do 'first-stop' on BF. Besides, they only accept Discover or cash(well you can also use you atm card).

(I'm not sure anyone is reading these updates, but I thought it would be the best way for a noob to keep others informed instead of starting new threads each update).

Was At Sams last night here and they are opening at 5am on Black Friday! They had it everywhere in the store even the TV's on display were showing that they would be open then.

I've been a member of Sam's Club for a long time and they don't really have BF sales. They do put some items especially video games on sale with some nice pricing, but don't really participate in the BF sales though (not that I am aware of)

All clubs have the option of opening early on any day they choose. So I suppose individual clubs will choose to open early on BF. The one I'm at will not be doing such and from what I've heard so far, only around 3-5% will be opening early.

As far as sales go, even those that open early will not have "sales". They may choose that day to lower their prices but the company doesn't use the term "sales" as they want to be known for offering the lowest price possible every day.

Yes FatRocky, I do work at a Sam's Club. I think it would be a very good idea to fill out a comment card and explain just the type of things he's been doing. People with attitudes like that certainly don't need to be working as a door greeter.

Checked again, and yes there will be a flyer in the newspaper on thanksgiving day! No sure, but is this a first for Same to be having a BF sale?

Ours in Altoona is opening at 5AM also. One of the workers told me that there WILL be some exceptional deals ... but unfortunately I couldn't get any more out of him.

You never have to be a member to buy at sams, but non members pay 5% extra on everything. Not really a big deal unless you buy something like a computer that cost $1000. If you just shop that one day pay the 5% or bring a friend who is a member. You would have to spend $900 before the 5% charge = cost of $45 membership.

The Sam's club in Indy referenced a 5am opening on one of the messages the screens on their gas pumps. Usually they advertise sales and such, but one of them over the weekend said they would be open at 5am on the 25th.
