  1. Have all teens so second guessing is a little difficult. Started slowly in February when I bought various north face jackets from moosejaw for about 60% off. Am really THRILLED because I just bought the oldest DD a set of Vera Bradley duffles and weekender for over 80% off yesterday online. Wanted to get them last year but missed the deal. Also got a bunch of clothes from AE yesterday - 40% off clearance and free ship. Love it when that happens!
  2. How are you getting $1 shipping on any amount? Is there another code?
  3. Ok. Maybe I cheated, but this is one of the best black friday shopping days I've ever had. It's 1:19pm and I'm still in my pjs but between yesterday and today, I have my laptops, uggs, luggage, beatles rock band limited, fable III american eagle and aerie clothes and lots of other stuff for black friday pricing and less .... Still need a good deal on a sony walkman mp3 player and a train set, but a huge dent has been made .... THANK YOU GOTTADEAL!!!!! :)
  4. We looked at buying a floor model at Walmart. Was told that they honor the manufacturer warranty plus additional through Walmart. The only reason we didn't buy the one we were looking at was that I couldn't get it home!!!
  5. OMG Thank you for this thread! I just got DD's Hannah Montana beach towel for $5.99 instead of $12 and just in time for her bd too!
  6. I got one on Saturday. Mine has a little picture of a gold card and a platinum card and says "Save $10 when you use your JCPenney Privilege Card. It's our gift to you for being a valued JCPenney Cardmember". HTH
  7. I ordered two days ago .... got my Google confirmation almost immediately and STILL have heard nothing from Timberland. How long is their confirmation taking to come???? I am counting on these boots for Christmas!!!!
  8. You know, Ross, it's funny...... I've NEVER thought of it that way!!!! I've only ever considered the $$ aspect .... since waiting (and waiting and waiting... is such an integral part of Black Firday anyway. Thanks for the whole new perspective and I think I WILL just buy it now! It's free shipping anyway so if someone WOULD run a spectacular deal, I could always return it! Thanks guys!!! Mind is made up ---- off I go to amazon!
  9. I need an opinion .... Am looking at the 1 GB for ~$50 .... Anyone think I would get a better deal on BF???????? Last year, I got a 512 for $39 at Best Buy when they were typically running $60-80 and earlier this year I got the 2GB for $80 when they were running over $100 .... I really want one of these, but if I can get it for less than $50, I'd like that even BETTER! Thoughts?????? Thanks!
  10. Altoona or State College, PA depending on if I have to work. Now, I ask you .... who in their right mind would estate PLAN on Black Friday?????
  11. I've gone to KMart for the last two years to get the BOGO games. Since I buy for a Childhood Cancer Foundation and we give them to children's hospitals for kids in the hospital over holidays, it helps us out a lot! Think last year I was early enough for the DVD special too. I plan on going again this year, but it will depend on the deals.
  12. THANK YOU!!! 48 books to be divided between 2 Children's Hospitals for only $23.52 shipped!!! I couldn't have done it without you!
  13. Just happened to be in WM last night (DH needed Zone bars) and I got some stuff for the childhood cancer foundation I volunteer with. We send individual "baskets" for kids in the hospital over holidays. I found 30 of the chocolate stuffed bunnies for .74/ea, 20 Easter sippy cups for .25/ea, 10 bags of sports ball "eggs" for .37/ea, and Easter grass for .06. Not as good as last year's finds, but I completely missed Target this year. Still not bad for ~$34.00
  14. My mom died very suddenly last week. My brother and sister and I had given her a new tv a few weeks ago as part of her Christmas. Right now I don't think ANYTHING is a better gift than time..... But you are a very good son to make her smile. Merry Christmas
  15. In our house, Santa brings 3 gifts (just like the wise men) and the stocking stuffers. They are wrapped in paper that mommy would NEVER have in the house (Barbie or Toy Story or Princess...). The rest of the presents are from various family members. Every now and again, Santa MAY leave an extra gift...you just never know! DS is now 20 and DD is 7 and I hope they believe forever!!!

    Talking In Line

Sure! Today at Staples, I was 6th in line and started talking to the woman who was in front of me about how crazy we really must be (wind chill was -2!) and where we needed to go after Staples..and I told her TRU was definately next. Well, TRU is next door and opened its doors earlier than advertised (5:00 instead of 6:00). That nice woman told me to go get my stuff at TRU and she'd keep my place in line since Staples wasn't opening until 6. I ran down, got my dvd player and free dvd, checked out and put it in my car and back to the line. True to her word, she had let people know that I was there before and would be back! People like that make BF a blast!!!
  17. I'm actually seriously considering giving up a day's pay to be able to go.... call me silly, but the way I figure it, it will cost me MORE if I don't go -- of course, my bosses just look at me dumbfounded. They just don't get it!!
  18. Don't forget Life is included in the Hasbro rebates. $3.00 off ... now if only I could link!
  19. Of course I'm staying.... Gottadeal helped me get a 20g ipod and a $15 itunes card and shipping for the wonderful price of $208.99!!! And it wasn't even near Black Friday!!!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
  20. OMG, we rented it tonight and it immediately went on our buy list. DD who is 7 giggled through most of it as did DH and I. It stayed pretty true to the book too. :g_thumpsu
  21. Cherry, it doesn't work. honest. I have a kid old enough to get up and do things and you know what I get? "Mom, are you NUTTTTSSS???? I'm not going out in that!!!!!":rotflol: Actually tho... he is very quick to volunteer to sistersit so I can go! (Hey, dumb maybe but definately not stupid!) Back on topic.... most of our mall along with all of the "big name" (Target, Walmart, TRU, Kmart, Value City, Circuit City) opens between 5-6 except for Sears that opens at 4, so I'm pretty much screwed if I NEED to be in two stores!
  22. I'm not "Black Friday" overwhelmed, but I am "Christmas" overwhelmed. Generally by now, I am at least 3/4 done shopping for EVERYONE <I shop all year long>. But this year, things just happened and I have only one or two things for my family and nothing for anyone else so far. THIS IS NOT GOOD!!! I was actually thinking I could make up for it Black Friday with some of the good deals, but now I think I may actually have to work that day! (I'll find out on Monday when I start my new job). Who would need an asset planning lawyer on the biggest shopping day of the year?!?!?!?!?
  23. Well normally my parents are harder to buy for because we actually try to get them SOMETHING substantial .... This year my siblings and I got together and got them a new Sony tv. Nothing "new-fangled" or fancy, just a 27" Sony tv with digital capability. They have it already, so I just need a couple little things for them to open.... dad gets chocolate covered cherries and mom gets pictures of the kids. DH's parents are a different story. We get his dad and family individual gifts... His dad will get a fleece blanket that I've been working on all year, his stepmom will get a waterball tealight holder and scented tealights, his stepbrother will probably get a gc since he just got his own apartment and his stepsister will probably get BBW and jewelry. Plus DD made them a holiday wooden shovel to put by the fireplace. His mom and stepdad will get an Ansel Adams print and a holiday wooden shovel too.
  24. THANKS!!! Just ordered and I left all the cc information blank. It took the order with no problem. Wish I could get more of these!
  25. Stop believing??? NEVER! I can still hear Santa's bells jingling! Besides, newspapers don't lie about important stuff like that and "If you read it in the Sun, then it's so." Just ask Virginia!
