Angelseyes28 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Do you think Target will do the same? I'm wanting to go to walmart first then head across the street to Target but now I'm wondering if they will start their sale earlier this year just to keep up with Walmart.
zinnbball Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 what time does walmart begin this year?? tradionally target has not moved from the 7:00 am start, but their doorbusters have been a bust lately in my opinion.
Angelseyes28 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 Walmart is starting at 5am this year. I'm not sure about other places but here it's always started at 6am.
Gumball Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Walmart's opening at 5am this year instead of the 6am they've opened in the past.
nellyhill Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Wow 5am. I didn't know that. Looks like I need to be there at 3. I get off work at 1 so maybe I will just go straight there.
erh12275 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I think they might. I have seen posts sayin a few other stores are opening earlier this year also. I don't shop Target on BF ...I usually price match at Walmart.
Kandy Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Walmart's going to start at 5 vs 6.. I didnt notice that..grrrrrrrh.
smfritz03 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Im glad Walmart is opening earlier--will give me the time I need to run in--grab what I need and still make the airport on time to hit Disney!~!! Can employees (like way up there people) get access to these items sooner and put them on hold?
Guest Deals4Me Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 5am...I think that moves my 2-3 am in line policy back to 1-2 am... err..
ryka Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Well I hope target doesn't open earlier then 7 cause I want to go to WM and target is like an hour 30 mins from WM here.So if I can get out of WM by 6:30 I will be happy. Hoping for being out of there by 6. Depends on the lines.
Lexia19 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I'm not new to BF shopping (this will be my 23rd year! And I'm only 22!), but I am new to BF shopping at WalMart. So, this is probably a dumb question, but I can't find the answer anywhere. If you go to a 24 hour wal-mart, do you just have to wait inside until 5am or how does that work?

If you go to a 24 hour wal-mart, do you just have to wait inside until 5am or how does that work?At the walmarts I go to, you can go inside and wait but most everything that is on sale is on pallets wrapped in plastic. The plastic isn't cut off until the sale starts. What I generally do is get there early with my ads and go around the store and get what I am price matching from other stores, then I go wait at the pallets until the sale starts. Hope that helps some:) Forgot to add, welcome to GottaDeal:)
EYGLE Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I think that the MEIJER Stores opened at 5 last year so Walmart is probably trying to keep up!
neice0510 Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Wow 5am I guess I won't be sleeping in till 4 like I thought.
elena_398 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 The Walmart 5am door busters are going to kill me. Before I had time to go elsewhere. KBToys is 5am here and so is my TRU.
Angelseyes28 Posted November 3, 2005 Author Posted November 3, 2005 The Walmart 5am door busters are going to kill me. Before I had time to go elsewhere. KBToys is 5am here and so is my TRU.LOL Maybe Walmart is trying to make up for the lousy excuse of a sale that they had last year.
elena_398 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Thats true. All those stores are all around each other within 2 blocks of each other. I guess they saw how crowded they were and decided they were losing out on that hour of business!
Angelseyes28 Posted November 3, 2005 Author Posted November 3, 2005 I wish the stores were all close together here. The Walmart and Target are close together but everything else is about 20 min apart from each other. UGH!!!
elena_398 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 TRU, BB, CC, Walmart, Target, and KB Toys are all within a couple of the blocks. Besides KB which is inside the mall, all the stores surround it. Luckily the mall is only 10 minutes or so away
Angelseyes28 Posted November 3, 2005 Author Posted November 3, 2005 You are soooooo lucky! I have been trying to figure out how I'm gonna to pull of making it to most of the stores if they have something that I can't pricematch at walmart. I wonder if it's too late to volunteer to have myself cloned;)
elena_398 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Yes, in reading how far people have to travel Im guess I am. Kohls and Office Max are even closer to me. My only thing is this 5am opening of all the stores. LOL. Target is the only one to open later which helps a bit. Thats why Im really hoping their ad is great this year so I have time to shop there
tokeamok Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Walmart's opening at 5am this year instead of the 6am they've opened in the past.Is that all Walmarts Nationwide or just in your area
Snoodles Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 WalMart around here has always been 5am, and ShopKo too. Target opens at 6am usually I think.
fingerlakesmom Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I hope not Target is 45 minutes form Wal-mart
cherry33778 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Im glad Walmart is opening earlier--will give me the time I need to run in--grab what I need and still make the airport on time to hit Disney!~!! Can employees (like way up there people) get access to these items sooner and put them on hold? I have a friend that is a cashier at Walmart and they don't even tell them what's going on sale until minutes before.
Jenniferharrison82 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 Im glad Walmart is opening earlier--will give me the time I need to run in--grab what I need and still make the airport on time to hit Disney!~!! Can employees (like way up there people) get access to these items sooner and put them on hold? When I worked there, any employee could stake out what they wanted before they opened the doors. -or throw it on layaway..
peachysquirt21 Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I'm staying clear of Walmart this year. I had my fill of that store 2 years ago getting stuck in the middle of those cheap DVD players. Thought I was never gonna get out. I will head to Target & Shopko instead.

Thought I was never gonna get out. I will head to Target & Shopko instead.OMG that's exactly what I was thinking. That was the weirdest Walmart experience I EVER had! Eventhough, I did get 2 DVD players, that was the MEANEST group of shoppers I have ever seen in my life!!!
Candy Posted November 3, 2005 Posted November 3, 2005 I think every walmart is different..because the one I worked at..no one was allowed to hold items...not to say it didnt happen occassionally..I am sure it did. But I do know that all the ones in my county and the next county say that is a huge no no..and no one I know was allowed to hold anything back anytime of the year...regardless.
